| | | Alfonso Cuaron unlikely to return to Potter films ComingSoon.net has a new interview with Alfonso Cuaron [the director of ' Prisoner of Azkaban'] in which he mentions the possibility of returning to the franchise. Quote: |
"At this point today? No," he told us with a smile, "but I can tell you that I spent the most beautiful two years of my life doing 'Harry Potter'. Everything around the J.K. Rowling product is surrounded by this very beneficial energy. It's fantastic to be around her and associated with it. I don't know. In the future, if I'm invited, I would consider it definitely because it was such a beautiful experience, but in the same hand, I'm not very good about repeating stuff that I did before."

| It's good to see he really loved directing HP! I wouldn't mind him coming back! I personally liked Mike Newell the best but Alfonso was awesome too!

| I understand what he's saying about repeating something he's done before. It sounds as if he likes to keep moving and doing different projects. I love him for everything he did on Prisoner of Azkaban and he made it one of my favourites. As soon as I got it on DVD I watched it every night for two weeks. I love the movie he came up with. I used to want the series to have like the same people working at the head of it because I wanted it to be similar. But thinking on that change is good and it will be good for Harry Potter movies to come! |

Richard Blake Ministry Security | He changed the HP filmscompletely, thank you Alfonso, POA was great, sinister and more mature, he reminded me of Tim Burton but I also loved Mike Newell approach as its very british. I wouldnt mind having him back for Half Blood prince, he always puts cool small details that you notice when you watch it a couple of time and background things. |

Money or Art? I know which one I'd pick...which is why I will never direct HP either... T: It doesn't help any you're not a director either. O: Minor quibbles...stupid Hollywood execs, they don't have enough vision to see I don't need to know anything about how a camera works to direct. *On the set* T: Ottery...you forgot the film... O: EDIT: Just cuz I can't direct doesn't mean I can't criticize... Filmicly *Ottery has his own vocabulary you don't like it? You can oioli him so there* Filmicly I think Cuaron's movie was the best. But...that dragon really kicked major burro so you know I love it more, oh and Ron swooning over Krum and Hermione at the ball and CHO OMFG! but yeah, Cuaron's the best director they've had. EDIT 2: Ems, be my Yoko Ono?

| AHA! This has been my dream! This has been what I've been waiting for!
Alfonso Cuaron is my least favorite HP director. He destroyed PoA.
Thank you! -hails WB- |

| I'm happy that he concidered it 2 of his best years. That really means something.
But then again PoA has been the worst portrayed film in my opinion. And it's such an important book. |

| Shame... I would've been happy for him to return to direct HBP or even the final HP film. He really made the HP films into actual films, not literal book-to-movie adaptations -- not to mention PoA is my favorite HP film of the current four. I can understand him not wanting to repeat the visual style and feel of PoA if he were to return, but I'm a bit disappointed with him with not wanting to return. |
