Mexican fans of Harry Potter were able to purchase a special DVD that featured an interview with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban director, Alfonso Cuaron.
Sofia transcribed the interview, and Rodrigo translated it into English - both from
Veritaserum.
The transcript can be read in full

I enjoyed working with Lenny Henry, who is the comedian who made the voice for the shrunken head. Then when the interviews for the DVD started - these things are boring for me - I decided to break the routine. Why don't we have Lenny Henry doing the interviews? In the end, the interview was done by someone else with the shrunken head doing a little.
Three words: Bad decision, Alfonso.
Poor choice of interviewer and atrocious humor from the shrunken/mouldy tennis ball.

When Johnny is speaking with the boys, the head suddenly interrupts and the boys react to the head and such. I liked that Lenny Henry, who was the voice of the head in the movie, also had a part on the DVD.

I wasn't very involved in the creation of this DVD, simply because when you do a movie you don't have time for both things. I was very involved in the creation of the "Y tu mama también" DVD because I was assigned that. Here I tried to give ideas, but anyway, there was a whole team that developed it.

One of the victims (of editing) was Sir Cadogan, and that was very painful for me since he was one of my favorite characters.
Quote:
There was an entire scene in which Sirius Black broke into the boys' room. But that scene didn't survive - every scene that was related to this one was deleted. The problem was that all of them were Sir Cadogan's scenes.

Since the beginning, we decided that this movie would be a movie with "characters with special effects" and not a movie of "special effects and characters." We didn't try to use a lot of special effects. Instead of showing them, we tried to hide them.

The interview on the DVD was made just after J.K. Rowling had seen the movie for the first time. She was excited and positive about it. As a matter of a fact, she loved the movie. What I like about it is that in the interview she shows enthusiasm about it.

It is very probable that on the first day of classes in a normal school, it would have a chorus. I talked to John Williams about that and he loved the idea. Next, we had to choose what they were going to sing. Then, I suggested that John Williams to use the lyrics from Double Trouble, which are part of "MacBeth." He loved the idea. What excited me the most is that John included elements from medieval music in Harry Potter's atmosphere.

There are so many people working on the sets. If you see the final credits, you will realize the number of people who worked on it. Inevitably, there are always one or two birthdays daily. And in Harry Potter, birthdays are taken seriously. On each birthday we sang "Happy Birthday".
