News has been circulating that JK Rowling has told her family, friends, and publishers that the new book six title will be "Harry Potter and the Fate of the Dementors". I was checking a few websites to confirm this rumor, but none have it listed, so I'm submitting it. :-)

nsynchrockerchick is right! The titles have not been released. Don't believe any rumors about titles. I like to speculate as much as the next person, but titles are titles. JKR is the only one who I will believe on the titles of the books.

Besides, what kind of a title is "the fate of the dementors?" JKR doesn't make titles like that. That's like giving away the end of the book. That title suggests that the dementors get it. She'd never write a title that gave speculation to the plot of the book.

Think of the other titles. Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix.

When those titles came out, we didn't know what a Philosopher's stone was... or who the Prisoner of Azkaban was. Why would she make a title that tells the plot of the whole book? Her titles are about the mysteries that are SOLVED by the end of the book.

That would be a good title for the next book. Finally get those things out of harry's way. that would be nice, they are scary.

:beam: Chance is that it is just one more title thats simple a rumor. The real title wont leak out till it goes to the print shop, or at least thats my guess.

The good side might find a way to kill one or two dementers but i recon they will be in the seris till the end :sorcerer:

I don't know. There were lots of references to the dementors in the last three books that we could see the demetors come to their fate. I hope so, but this title or the mudblood revolt would be cool, but are there really that many mudbloods doing magic?

Like several of you, It doesn't seem quite "on" to me.

I agree that, so far, JKR has introduced something new in her titles, and likely will again.

It would be nice to hear a title officially...it would make me feel like it might not be quite so long until Book 6 comes out!
