| | | A key to the HBP?
Several eagle eyed Potter fans have spotted a key on promotional signs for ' Half-Blood Prince' at Borders Bookstores.
The little key has sparked speculation as to whether it could have any significance on the content of the sixth Potter novel.
What do you think? Good spotting or over-analysing?

I'm thinking maybe something to do with that pocket-knife thing Harry had which he tried to use to open a door in the DoM which began to melt it when he stuck it in the lock...

| It could have soemthing to do with the book, but we won't find out until we get to read it. It could be the key to that room in teh Department of Mysteries.

To know if it is indeed a clue to the content of the book, previous book promotions will have to be analysed.
Does anyone know if POS, COS, POA, GOF and/or OOTP had little details (like this key) on their posters? If so, did they have any significance?
Otherwise, it maybe just for decoration.

It looks like its on the botttom of the poster so it could just be a symbol for thew company that made the poster or something, but if it has to do with the book I think its about the locked door in the Department of Mysterys

I could see it being an intricate little secret, but I also see it as a cool design on the banner. I won't put too much stock into it, but I will watch out for this one.

I think half-blood prince is going to be a very important and emotional book.
Every Harry Potter book, I think has something that will be important in half-blood prince
1. PS(The task with the kids)
2. CoS(The Chamber of secrets and Godric's sword)
3. Poa(the night harry's parents die)
4. GoF(the three curses and death eaters)
5. Ootp(The veil and why Sirius died)
I think it's a key that will open a area in the chamber of secrets.

Well in the first book we had the stone, second book we had the Gryffindor sword, fourth book the golden egg... It might be something.

Yeah, I don't know what to think. It could just very well be a promotional symbol. Do Bloomsburry and Scholastic have the same marketers? If not who marketed this promotion. Maybe it was the bookstore's marketers....but then a key to the storyline would be an intriuguing clue
