i too think that this is how i thought cho cchang looks and she is shorter and slightly older

Just because she's Asian doesn't mean that she doesn't live or wasn't born in the U.K.
It's not like every citizen of the U.K is from the same ethnic group.

I think Katie will do a good job.I don't believe they'd cast her if she wasn't a capable actress.

omg! katie lueng?? getting the part of Cho ? ok no affence but she is not so pretty. i pictured her 2 be a more pretty. and why didn't they put her in the Prisoner of Askaban?? well maybe bec u see her only once like when they r playing quitich. but harry begins 2 like her in Prisoner of Askaban. well Katie Leung is one dam lucky gurl man!! :cat:

I think that if she was chosen out of about a GAZILLION girls, she must be pretty darn good! And that picture is not one to judge on because that picture was probably taken without her knowing it, and you can't even clearly see her eyes. In my opinion all of the movies and their casts were amazing and this one will be too. I think she is pretty from what I can tell, but I feel kinda sorry for this actress. She will be getting A LOT of critisism from jealous girls out there. I think it would help if people would send her positive fan mail and such. :flowersmile:

Okay.. let me point out in a simple way for you.

#1 Right.. you're not jealous, huh? She looks like a skeleton? Mind you, a skeleton is all bones and white? Excuse the pun but the point is, there are others who are absolutely, clearly smaller than her and skinnier than her. Could you flip through a magazine or something and notice that they're skinnier? Even Keira Knightley is skinny... I think she's just the right size.

#2 So... what if you're Asian? I am too! And so what if you have lots of things in common? If you think you deserve a spot then why didn't you auditioned that day? If you think yo really deserve a spot, you could've at least make an effort to travel all the way to UK and audition. A girl from the US actually went there to audition...

#3 Doesn't mean you're from the UK you're not Asian... Like other countries... UK has lots of immigrants from other countries. What they mean is Asians who've been living in the UK!! Duh!!!!

#4 She's the right age!! If she's 25, I understand but she's only 16 going on 17. Height doesn't really matter in the movies. In the second book, Ron was supposed to be taller than twins and taller than them in the third book. But in the second film, Ron was nowhere near them although he is somehwere around their height in the third film. Arthur and Percy Weasley have been said to wear glasses.. did they wear glasses in the movies?? Not everything in the books have to be portrayed as it is exactly from the book. If you look the part, suit the part and can act the part... you get the job.

none of the quiddich players from the movie look atheletic to me... it's a different kind of sport from what we're used to.

I just hope Katie's better looking in the film.... you could have bad pics... especially when you are not posing for it.

Remember how angry everyone was about the casting of Sirius and Lupin. I personally thought they were great. And the casting of your beloved Dan and the others was spot on. For me they haven't got a character wrong yet, so I trust their opinion.

I give you full rights to slag her off/shout/cry when you've seen GoF and her acting and her appearence on screen, but all you have to go from is a grainy picture at the moment. I don't see how you can slag her off already when that's all you've seen of her?

Exactly. She is British! She has an Asian background but she is British. Britain is a multi-cultural society and her origin does not make her less British.

And the age thing, well Rupert is 2 years older than Emma, and that isn't a problem.

In my opinion, Katie is ugly larh... and take note I am not jealous... I have a friend who says she doesn't wanna play Cho but still thinks Katie Leung is ugly... Katie is ugly all right, and Cho is supposed to be PRETTY! She doesn't suit the looks already... Let's just hope her acting skills are superb, if not the whole movie will be ruined. And I thought the kissing scene only comes out in the fifth book? Katie's dad is a millionaire, ya? He probably bribed the authorities.. And i've got proof lorh... News state that "the crew liked Natasha a lot and it was a miracle that Katie got the role". Well, if she wants the role so much then let her have it... I'm waiting to see how she fares.

Not necessarily. What they mean is... A British citizen, someone who lives in the UK etc. She's not British and it is clear. I can't find any other traces of any other heritage that she might have bu the nagain I may be wrong.

It is important for the stars to live in the UK as it is easire with the system and stuff. Like education system or your paycheck or something... It won't need much hassling to sum it all up. Believe me... I know.

Um... I sorta think she looks like Cho, but one of those pictures featured her turned sideways, and in the other she was making a really odd face. And if she wasn't talking on the cell phone and wearing that hat, I might be able to give a more detailed opinion. (Oh, and I'm off topic a bit, sorry. I didn't bother to see what the last post was about. :/ )
