Post A chance to ride the Hogwarts Express!

HP FanTrips have announced that they're selling 50 individual tickets for fans to take a trip on the #5972 Olton Hall aka the Hogwarts Express.

Tickets will cost $199 each (which is about £100). The train will depart from Oxford on August the 1st, 2005 at approximately 7:00AM, returning about 12 hours later.

The day will include the following;

Quote:
* Day-long adventure such as Harry and his schoolmates would experience on their way to Hogwarts

*Travel from Oxford through the gorgeous Lake District up to Carlisle, and back

*Activities on the train may include tea parties, special games, storytelling (by a professional performer) and discussions with your fellow Harry Potter fans
It is also noted that the trip is best suited for fans that live in the United Kingdom or are visiting there on August 1, 2005.

For more information & to purchase tickets, please go here.

I know I won't be there, but it seems to be fantastic event. Just for a few hours, you could feel like a Hogwarts student...

Although it's quite expensive.

I have a bit of coal from the Hogwarts Express! It's probably the weirdest Harry Potter thing I have!

I might seriously consider getting a ticket as long as all that money goes to charity or at least some of it. If i do, look out for me!(I have brown hair)

hhmm... for $200, I'll go BUT I would have to get plane tickets, and of course hotel accomodations, and some pocket money, since of course that would be my first time in the UK so I might as well stay several days... Then I would need some extra money so I can stalk Oliver Phelps

That adds up, so no thanks! If I lived in the UK, I think I'd definitely consider it...

I agree it would be fun, and I'd love to do it, it's just $199 is a lot of money, and I'm in the USA. Like said, if I lived in the UK, I would definantly consider it. It would be close to my birthday, after all. But anyway, only 50 tickets? The chances of getting one?
Ah well. Lucky those who will be on that train...

It does sound kinda fun, but i dont know if the whole tea parties quaintness of it all would ruin the effect. Im not sure if i'd be less of a fan if i went.

My future husband... He's George Weasley...

Anyway, so don't they have some sort of package deal, for non-UK residents or something, so the trip will be cheaper?? If they do, then I might just go...
