| | |  £50,000 worth of damage done to Hogwarts Express
It is being reported today that vandals, thought to be as young as 10, have caused £50,000 ($98,455.27) worth of damage to train carriages used in the Harry Potter films, which were being kept at West Coast Railway depot at the former Steamtown site in Carnforth. They apparently used hammers intended for emergencies to smash the windows. A gang of six were seen by locals as they ran off. Quote:
Patricia Marshall, managing director of West Coast Railway, said: "It will take at least a month to repair, because so much damage was caused."
It is thought the repair work might lead to people being laid off. Quote:
"It all depends how fast the repairs can be carried out," Mrs Marshall said. "If we can't meet our contract commitments then we might have to lose some employees.
"This isn't just material damage we are talking about – it's long lasting to the company."
A reward is being offered by the police for anyone who can help them with their enquiries as to what happened on March 10th.

I think it's tragic the kids don't have anything better to do. That's echoed everywhere. More facilities need to be provided for young people to keep them off the street and out of trouble-making gangs. Boredom breeds trouble.

Personally, I first laughed cos.....destroying windows is just so stupid. But it's still rather sad these little urchins have nothing better to do. They need a good spanking, grounding, and no television for a month. At least. *smites the chavs brats*
