| oh ignore ottery, he's just trying to put the weight of the world on neville's shoulders so harry can be free to pursue miss ginny weasley(sticks tongue out at ottery) but while i dont think neville will become the boy-who-lived, he is more closely alike to harry than anybody else. i mean, he can understand a lot of the things that is weighing heavily on harry's mind right out now. of course to pull harry out of his moods will have to be a joint venture by his mates from now on
but i think the interesting thing is that while you look at the surface of the prophecy issue, then harry would naturally be jealous of neville because he doesn't have to be the one to kill or be killed
but...
look at neville's life. some would say that its better if the longbottoms had died, died rather than exist like this and what neville is going through because of it. id like a good friendship b/w harry and neville because neville is the quiet one. he looks a lot less impulsive and hot blooded than harry and that can be a good influence because neville is not pushy.
and neville/ginny? interesting. but i doubt ginny will look at neville as a romantic interest. she's protective of him and looks out for him. almost like an older sibling. according to me anyway. but it would be interesting to watch ginny with someone who is not fiery and passionate like her but calm and almost passive. it will frustrating but then again, what love affair isnt? but im not too convinced. |

| Aw, come on, we all know that Neville's coming out of his shell. I don't expect him to suddenly run out and get tatoos and a Muggle motocycle (all the Neville/Ginny fanfiction involves those things... it scares me...) but he's almost sixteen! He's got to get a girlfriend sometime... I really, really hope it's Ginny. She is protective of him, and understands him. Plus, he's protective of her. He stood up to Malfoy for Ginny, and we all know how afraid Neville is of Malfoy and his bodygaurds! Neville and Ginny... It's as cute as bunnies in love with kittens. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ottery St. Catchpole Third | Kicking butt and taking names...Ottery style, but keep the cats and bunny apart Quote: | Neville? Kill Voldemort? No, I don't think that's his style... He might kill Bellatrix, and that may encourage Harry to kill the Dark Lord, but I'm not sure. | I thought you liked Neville. What better way to come out of your shell than going on a killing spree starting with Bellatrix and Voldemort, and Mr. Malfoy just for fun too, see Draco crying.... . Thought i'd point this out I'm not saying it because of you Jessie but I've noticed that people who want Harry dead usually are the one's who argue Harry couldn't possibly kill Voldemort because that would be a bad thing. Since when is killing the bad guy a bad thing? I don't get this. They're against the happy ending but they're totally pc about heroes killing. What? I just don't get it. Quote: | Hopefully Neville will get a girlfriend soon. coughGINNYcough | Too right. *hands Jessie a lozenge* For your cough sweetie. coughLunacough. Funny looks like I'm coming down with the same thing. Quote: |

| *gasps audibly with feigned expression of shock a la Gloria Swanson* Who me? I never...but that's not a bad idea...hehehehehe. Actually I'd just like Neville to kick some baddie butt. Quote: |
but i think the interesting thing is that while you look at the surface of the prophecy issue, then harry would naturally be jealous of neville because he doesn't have to be the one to kill or be killed
| Good point, but I don't think he will...Neville lost his parent's in a similar way...a more painful way, perhaps? A living reminder like a weight around his neck...kind of...so close yet so far away. In some respects Neville is the most tragic character in the books...*ottery breaks down crying* Is it any wonder I want him to kill Voldemort. And the real reason is I don't want Harry to die! Quote: |
she's protective of him and looks out for him. almost like an older sibling. according to me anyway.
| Which would be sooooooooooo cute, because Ginny's a year younger than he, *pictures Ginny doing Neville's tie*. Soooo cute. But... Quote: |
but it would be interesting to watch ginny with someone who is not fiery and passionate like her but calm and almost passive
| It would be more fun if Harry and Ginny went around kicking massive amounts of bad guys left and right chanting "Booyah" well maybe not the last part, but I see them both as Auror's when they grow up...*sighs* Quote: Neville and Ginny... It's as cute as bunnies in love with kittens. | It is cute...um...*wrings hands* I don't know how to tell you this, but *looks at floor* the kittens would eat the bunnies... |

I like what you said, imagining Ginny doing Neville's tie... Then she'd kiss his cheek, say "Good Luck!" (falls over, hearts flying around her head.) |

Why do so many people think it would be better to see Harry dead and the Voldemort reigning supreme than for Harry to take his life? Anyway, no matter what Neville-ship we support, we agree that Neville's growing up and will probably get a girlfriend soon. Ginny did the same thing, she turned a little older, so she started dating. I think Neville will do the same thing. (Then he'll go on the killing spree! MWAHAHA!) |

| N/G? I've never liked Neville enough to think about his relationships, but Ginny only accepted his invitation to the Yule Ball in GoF so she could go, and he invited her to have someone to go with in the first place. Why does everything have to turn into a ship? |

Quote: | Really? (Pulls out a dictionary) Hey, you're right, it is! But look, under here, "Neville/Ginny" is also the definition of "Will Definately Happen." | *staring over Jessie's shoulder* Move your fingers sweetie...look it says after the pigs grow wings...hmm...pulls out Encyclopedia...look it clearly states pigs don't fly...guess it's not happening. I'm glad Neville's character is maturing I've always thought there's more to him than what we've seen, it's a pity his character has never been explored so much. I'll be glad whoever Neville ends up with because one, he wont be dead *crosses fingers* and two he wont be alone, he so deserves love, and kicking some butt. Quote: |

I've never liked Neville enough to think about his relationships,
| Um.... This forum is kind of about Neville... Are you in here by accident? Quote: |
Ginny only accepted his invitation to the Yule Ball in GoF so she could go, and he invited her to have someone to go with in the first place.
| Come on, you know she wouldn't have gone with Neville is she didn't want to, and even though she couldn't have gone, she could have held out for someone else to ask her. (Like Harry, huh, Ottery?) When Harry and Ron started laughing about Neville being "dateless," Ginny shut them up imediately. She continues to defend him throughout the books, so they're definately close. Quote: |
Why does everything have to turn into a ship?
| Because "Harry Potter" is a fandom! Ships sail naturally! Nobody knows how they were made, and only self-proclaimed "evidence" and the fans desire for their pairing to shine through keep the ship afloat. |

(Mostly against Malfoy, but who's keeping count? *twiddles thumbs* not me...) | I still wish he'd played a more prominent role in some of the other books, it seems like he's only just become important lately, which is fine too, I think his character will only get more spotlight in the coming books, but if he dies...I swear I'll die...I wonder if he's going to get his revenge on Bellatrix though? Wouldn't Harry have reason to horn in there too? And Lupin while were following that train of thought. Who will kill Bellatrix? In the next book obviously Neville is going to get a new wand, but I don't think they're going to devote a whole chapter to that, and that's what I mean, I don't want to turn this into Neville Longbottom and the half blood prince but more Neville would be cool. Quote: | Yeah! But-kicking Neville with conquer all! | Exactly, if he decked Draco in the next book a la film Hermione kind of way, I'd be happy. In the first book, he was definately important (Gryffindor won the House Cup because of a certain shy boy...) But then he just kind of faded into the background for four books running. Now, in Book Five, he's coming back out of his shell and becoming more of an important character. Quote: | if he dies...I swear I'll die... | Me too! i don't want Neville to die! And Lupin while were following that train of thought. Who will kill Bellatrix? | Well... Yes and no. Neville has more of a reason to kill bellatrix, and I think Harry would respect that. (Unless he had a sudden sense of rage because Bellatrix mocks Sirius' memory or something.) Anyways, when Harry used "Crucio" on Bellatrix, he could have very well tried "Avada Kadavra." So, I think Neville will be the one to get sweet revenge on that ol' hag. Hey, "ProjectFerret.org" had a contest called "practice makes perfect" where you create a scene about Neville getting a new wand. I posted one... It was supposed to be called "Neville's Inspriation" but I made a typo. It's the last entry on the page entitled "Neville's Inpiration." If you have a moment any time, please take a look at it. It's sappy, and full of Neville/Ginny goodness. I'll make your sweet-tooth rott. You're probably right about Harry respecting that though...he's so cool like that, and that was an excellent example...if he couldn't do it then...well...but she really irked me, I mean seriously when she was making fun of him with the baby sounds...dude I was all like [ever obscenity on the known planet] took a couple of hours but I felt better afterwards. Hogwarts RPG Name: Ottery St. Catchpole Third | Ottery eavesdropping on Neville and Harry's moment...Jessie getting chased by Ginny Quote: | First of all... LOOK AT MY NEW AVATAR!!! NEVILLE/GINNY! It says "Shall we dance" because of the Yule Ball... SO CUTE!!! | Noticed it, it's toooooo cute. *ottery breaks down crying from the cuteness, then promptly faints from same cuteness* I'm such a dork didn't even think about the Yule Ball when it said shall we dance... ... Quote: *blushes* Thank you. (Usually you gryffindor lot have a whole different word to describe us Slytherins, lol) (tango music starts up) | Hehehe...well I've always been different, kind of like Neville in some respects, the odd man out. I can kind of see Seamus and Dean hanging out, and we know Ron, Harry, Hermione are inseparable...but what about Neville? I can see him with Dean and Seamus too, but I don't think he's ever been hanging out with them in the books...which just goes to show you how poor Neville is severely underrepresented in the books. When he runs into Malfoy to save Ginny, he's alone...well technically not really because Ginny's there...but...what was he doing chasing after Ginny? Hmm. *ottery kicks himself....* Quote: | I've been calling him "Ickle Nevevy-poo" for years. I think Ginny wants to hurt me... Eeep!
