...Oh yea, I've heard an interesting theory the other day... It says that Harry IS the last horcrux that Voldemort had made. Remember that Dumbledore reckons Voldemort is making the seventh horcrux with Harry's death? Many think Voldemort using harry as a container for the horcrux would explain the fact that Harry can speak Parseltongue. Somehow I don't think that's the case... If Voldermort used Harry as the Horcrux, why would he kill him in the first place?

Ok, first off just to clarify, I don't personally believe he's an actual horcrux. I think there was something similar, an accidental transfer, but that was covered in my earlier posts.

The answer here is simple. You're Voldie. You have 6 horcruxes. One turns out to be Harry. Now, there's this pesky prophecy that you have to kill him, or he'll kill you. If you kill him, you're down a horcrux, but you have 5 left. If he kills you, it's game over.

I dunno about you, but I'd be willing to lose that one horcrux and get rid of the boy destined to challenge me. One horcrux? Small price to pay.

As far as Dumbledore being dead and never coming back, there has to be some reason why his Patronus is a phoenix. And don't you remember the funeral pyre erupting into flames?

Remind you of anything? *twinkle*

Agreed. I'm not sure why people have been saying "He's dead and we all know he isn't coming back." Admittedly, I'm not the world's greatest HP fan, I haven't read every book 100 times, but I don't recall anything that would ensure that. I still hold out that he might indeed return.

On another note, have we seen Dumbledore's Patronus? Or did you mean his familiar/bird?

Regarding his Patronus, it really isn't surprising. Nifty fact.

About coming back from the dead, for most people I'd agree, but it's already been proven false by Voldemort. I don't see Dumbledore having a problem bending the rules either, especially with a Phoenix.

I really hated that she killed off Dumbledore, but she had too in order for Harry to be able to fully face Voldemort in the next book. Dumbledore would never allow that so he had to go.

I really thought that she was going to let Draco die when Harry put that curse on him, and I also thought Ron was going to die .

This whole book was really dark, but it was also really good

That's what JKR did in the Order of the Phoenix too, she scared us with some people getting injured in order for us to think they were going to die...

I think his death was inevitable, so... I do like the idea of the painting, though, it's quite like Merlin being trapped by Nimue, not really dead but just as absent.

I really didn't think that Dumbledore's death in this book was going to be such a big shocker to anyone. My girlfriend & I have known that he was going to die in this book since the Chamber of Secrets. I mean it was obvious that Dumbldore was going to have to get out of Voldemorts' way for the final book & that would only happen through his death.

We also knew that Snape was the Half-Blood Prince. As soon as we heard that the book was going to be titled "The Half-Blood Prince" we both said..."Snape".

Therefore, for us, the book was a bit of a disappointment. It was still thoroughly enjoyable, it's just that we kept hearing all of this hype about the deaths & how sad it was going to be. Since we already had guessed that Dumbledore was going to die we figured that fact was common-knowledge & that something else was going to happen. Basically, since we had already guessed all of the main plot points it wasn't as astonishing to us as we thought it would be.

Sincerely,
Laurasia Malfoy

OK, Snape had an Unbreakable Vow to help Draco.

Therefor, had he not killed Dumbledore, Snape would be dead himself.
He's to selfish of a person in my mind to make that sacrifice. From here two possible things could happen

1)He stays with Voldemort

2)He stays a double agent, further intwined w. Voldemort.

I'd rather hope for #2, so Dumbledore didn't die totally in vain...

*cries*

HOW COULD SHE KILL HIM OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Snape must have discussed the oath he took to help Draco. Dumbledore then had Snape swear to follow thru with the killing to keep Draco from starting down the path of darkness. So it was more a sacrifice to save Draco than a murder. I feel that Dumbledore must have some plan to get this information to Harry and the Order so they will continue to trust Snape. Snape is too well placed to discard now.

I cant believe Dumbledore died.. after they killed Sirius i was very upset but thought it would be ok because of Albus... I knew that Snape wasnt good, he just couldnt get over his hate for James and Sirius... everyone should have trusted Harrys judgement on Snape especially when theyre was no proof that he had reformed...Poor Harry is losing everyone he loves... next thing we know they will be killing Hagrid, Ron, Herminone, or Ginny... that would be so sad..

Word.

I cried really, really bad when Dumbledore died. He was pleading. He was actually begging! How could JK kill off Albus?! Sigh. My favourite characters dying. I hope she doesn't kill Harry too in the last book! >.<

I'm quite sure the 7th book will have lots of twists and turns... Waiting for it! Who knows, like a phoenix, Dumbledore may come back, in a different form perhaps?

I'm just fantasizing... :sorcerer:

i cried so much & i couldnt stop shaking while reading the last chapters of the book. I can't believe he IS REALLY DEAD!. I was hoping that I dont know, in the end he like suddenly appeared & say that he pretended he was being killed by Snape! but noooooooooooo, HE IS DEAD!!. I really can't believe it.. well I kinda knew it was going to be Dumbledore because he was old, his hand.. he told Harry everything he needed to know.. & I dont think he was begging Snape not to kill him but he was BEGGING SNAPE TO KILL HIM. To save Snape's life, Malfoy's & that Unbreakable Vow.. wuahhhh!! I just hope Snape is a good person!! & that Dumbledore's death is worth it!! *cries*

Even though i knew what happened before i read it(b/c someone spoiled it for me), i thought even though Snape is a mean face, he was a good guy at heart and he really cared. But obviously he didnt.....

Default Why?

My question to the H/H shippers is what did you like about them as an item? I love them both, but not together. I'm not even satisfied with him and Ginny. There has to be somebody better for Harry. Ron and Hermione just make sense. There's so much there. After reading HBP, I think she will keep the trio alive. JK has said that the 6th book is probably her favorite of the series, even though some fans will disagree with her, because of Dumbledore. Well think about that comment??? If she was going to kill anybody else off more important than Dumbledore it would be Harry, Ron or Hermione. So I think they all will make it through.
