| The Burrow burning.. In this movie the Burrow is burned down, and I have a few things I am concerned about:
1. After the scene where the Burrow is burning the cast is back at school, and it isn't even mentioned!
2. Did it burn down or was it just damaged?
3. Is the Bill/Fleur wedding still happening there in the next movie?
I don't know about you, but I found it quite disturbing that such a major thing could happen without any follow up. |

I am sure it was probably just a matter of damage. I'm not sure how magic can repair a house, but I imagine this must've been a case. Perhaps it wasn't entirely so serious in damage? I must agree, though, it's a bit odd there was no follow-up. However, I realize WHY they did that - in a book like that, there was very little action and they needed something to bridge the idea of danger. Still. It was odd.

I actually found that part of the film good. Sure, I didn't enjoy thinking about it afterwards and having the same thoughts that you have. But then I thought that they wouldn't have put it in, without good reason, nor without thinking of those things. I think that although we saw The Burrow burning, I don't think Molly Weasley would let her house be unprotected by some spells, do you? When she has two children closely involved with Harry Potter, her family is accused of being traitors, and she has Fred and George living there. I, personally and this is my opinion, think that there would have been some protection on the house. Leaving he structure intact, and important things protected and whatnot.
They're magical, i'm certain they would have just fixed it up. We'll have to wait and see wont we?

I'm sure the Weasleys fixed it up alright. It did seem a bit choppy there, but then again there's a LOT of info to cram into only a couple hours of movie, so I understand why they can't tie up all the loose ends. Frustrating, but understandable I guess.

although HBP is my favorite movie, this is my least favorite part. it's not in the book, and completely pointless for the plot (something else major, but totally left out of the movie, happens at christmas-time in HBP - scrimgeour's visit to harry for support against voldemort). the only mention of the burning burrow incident afterward is when hermione says to harry, "they can find you anywhere, you have to be careful" (or something along those lines) as she looks at the daily prophet. yes, it looked as if their house was completely destroyed, but we know now that it was apparently completely repaired in time for the wedding. it was a pointless scene, (though visually appealling).

When I first saw it I was like
It's not in the book. It doesn't make since. Just Burned? The Burrow burned? Gone? Ashes? Broken stuff? It might be magical and all but still
I'm sorry about all the stuff but the Burrow being burned part was a little...unexpected. I don't know how to describe it. I added a little action into the film which is good. But I despite it when the movie gets changed a lot

It was mentioned after it burned. You saw Harry and hermione walking through the corridors and hermione was holding the daily prophet (the burrow burning down must have been a headline) and hermione said something to harry along the lines of "it's so easy for them to get to you. You need to remember who you are Harry." that was just before they saw Ron and lavender kissing. And no it didn't completely burn down. They're wizards. Of course they could have repaired any damage. It's all in the last book. They have the wedding at the burrow.

I'm sure it was just minor damage.

The worst part about this whole scene is that it abandoned all logic. In the book, the Burrow was given very strict security by both the Order and the Ministry. This means that no Death Eater, or even Voldemort himself, could attack the Burrow. Why did they have Bellatrix and Greyback attack in the movie then? If they knew Harry was there and there was no security in the movie, why not just send all of the Death Eaters and Voldemort himself to attack?

OK. Thank you giving me reason to vent. Okay, so it bothered me sincerly. But you can tell in the 7th movie that hte walls are white-washed, so it shows thta perhaps Arthur just put it quickly back together. It's very annoying. Especially since the Death Eaters can't even really get it in there since they have the protection. Also, it is metioned. But its just annoying that they just added it to keep up the suspense becasue the audience was fallign aslepp int here chairs watching that rom-com they called a hp movie!

I'm not sure why they didn't mention the cast going back to school afterwards, but seen as Bill and Fleurs wedding did happen in the next movie at the Weasley's house, I'm assuming that it was only damaged and was easily fixed with magic.
