I know i'm not the only one who is sometimes baffled by what Hagrid chooses to wear. Where do you think his sense of style comes from?

The moleskin waistcoat, the pink umbrella, the hairy suit. Discuss.

I personally like Hagrid's choice of clothing. Very...gamey. XD Considering he's a half-giant with a love for animals and creatures and the like, and he practically lives in the woods, I think it can only be expected of him. Maybe he picked up styles or traits from the wizards/witches he grew up around. Let's be honest, Hagrid hasn't grown up with the most fashion-conscientious lot around xD

I also like his clothing It just fits him. I imagine it would be really hard to find clothing that's large enough, and for a guy like Hagrid, I doubt he would be willing to pay extra for custom made. I guess when you are a half-giant, you can dress as you please.

I also think it goes along with his child like nature. He almost seems stuck as a young child in the way he reacts to things and deals with situations. Such as the way he can't keep a secret, even though he really tires his best to do so.

I also like his clothing; it shows how he doesn't go with the flow, wearing his own style. He's not like normal wizards, wearing cloaks and robes and acting "wizardly". He's showing everyne hat you don't have to be like everyone else. He loves to clash with thers, so why not wear clashing clothes? It goes back to his childhood I think he wasn't like the others, and had no one to really show him what was normal.

I think its probably hard for him to find 'normal' wizarding like clothes.. with bieng a half-giant and all, but nonetheless, Hagrid just wouldn't be himself if he were in robes.. looking all dressy and grown up. He isn't really the type who honestly cares about what others think of him. Plus, as it has been mentioned, he grew up hanging around creatures more then humans. So, that would fit. All in all, Hagrid likes the way he dresses and so do I .

Well, it has all been said pretty much, but I too like his fashion sense. Have you ever heard of a fashionable giant? It would take far too much time to have nice clothes made for him due to his size and as he has demonstrated, he cares not of what the "upper class" kinds of people think about him. He's a rugged, forest guy, so he should wear rough and dirty clothes that show his lifestyle. He reminded me a lot of the Flinstones when he dressed up for the hearing for Buckbeak in POA. He also has grown up around Hogwarts and without parents, so he never had anyone criticizing his wardrobe, which made him think it was all perfectly fine and he need not change for anyone. I'm glad Hagrid dresses the way he does, because were he in fancy, nicer clothes, I doubt anyone would be able to take him seriously.

I love Hagrids clothing.. It shows like what others say doesn't bother him..
If people liked him for the lovable giant that he is , than the clothes he
wears would not be an issue .

Just out of curiosity.. Where did he get his clothes.. I was hoping he was going to hook up with madam Maxine..(GOF)..Everyone deserves to be happy

If he and Madame Maxime were to have children, do you think they'd dress more comfortable like him or more well-kept like her?

Wow thats alot to think about and alot of factors could go aganist that. If they turned out to be giantly then they probably would have to dress more like him because of clothing having to be fitted, but then of course their mom would be able to make the clothing herself

I really am baffled- good question though. I wonder how he stays so cool in the summer time because I would be losing some clothing if I was him.

Here is a question posted in the chat thread and I think its a pretty good one so I thought we would add it here to the discussion thread. In my opinion since he already has the apparel, a lumber jack- all he would need to do is carry around his axe. Maybe he could color fang blue and he could be Babe the blue ox and then he could be Paul Bunyan

He and Madam Maxime can go as Beauty and the Beast, he already has long hair and beard, all he needs is a wild look. Madam Maxime is well kept too, she will look good as Belle.
