Fanclub Fanfic

The month of July is just around the corner and we need a little help to kick off the celebration. It’s time to put on your Thinking Cap and gather your black rimmed Harry Potter glasses for a month of fun and writing. Being part of the Snitchseeker Fan Clubs, the Admins and Mods have come up with a bit of fun with spectacular roles for all Fan Club members to enjoy and take part in.

As you know, Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final novel from the Harry Potter series. What if you, the members, could write the final book the way you see it or the way you would like it to end? Well, the time has come to hear your side of the story as told by your favorite Fan Club character in ‘Fanclub Fanfic’.

What we need from the Fan Clubs right now is for you, as a team, to agree on a topic or storyline for your character. You may participate in more than one Fan Club, it is all up to you, just as long as you have fun. Start a thread within the characters forum or have a discussion in the thread and have everyone post their thoughts and contributions to the story, to see where the novel would start and end. wooo I know this is a bit late for us to get started with, but I see the presidents are AWOL and as you know i'm swamped with other July stuff also.

We need 7 chapters, told from Hagrids point of view as the events of Deathly Hallows unfold.

We need story ideas, here are a few of mine:

* Hagrid begins the book still sad over Professor Dumbledores death.
* Perhaps (crazy idea) Hagrid is made Headmaster, and Firenze teaches COMC.
* Hagrid and Madame Maxime attend Bill and Fleur's wedding / get married themselves
* Hagrid or Madame Maxime die in the final showdown between the order and the Death eaters.

I'll have to check if there is a cut off date for when the stories have to be finished, but PLEASE post any ideas you have/ if you would be willing to write a chapter (if we get have plot points for each chapter it should be pretty easy to have multiple writers)

I'm willing to write a chapter. I'd guess each chapter should be maybe 500 words long... i'm not sure.

I'm excited for this, and I know we can do great!!

Hagrid gives Harry key help in finding the horcruxes.
Hagrid helps uncover the secrets of Aberforth Dumbledore.
Hagrid is exonerated from what happened in Riddle's day and becomes a big hero at the end.

OOH i like the idea that Hagrid becomes head of Gryffindor now McGonagall is Headmistress. And that's just made me think - if presumably Snape will not be returning to Hogwarts (i'm sure he'd get killed if he even tried), perhaps Slughorn can be Head of Slytherin...

Great work everyone, i'll volunteer myself to write the first chapter, which I will have done by monday.

I'd love to hep out in this ,um I'll see if I can come up with any ideas thuogh, what you guys have is awesome! I"ll edit this post when I think of things.

I'd like to write chapter 5 thuogh, so when it's my time I'll have a better view of things to write.

OK:

Hagrid gets a new wand and is exempt from any Ministry action. I mean he hould have had a new wand by know, what with him being innocent and all right?

Hagrid and Buckbeak find out where the last few Horcruxes are, and help Harry get them. (FOr this, I'm against person is a Horcrx theories, I'm sorry but I just don't think it could happen it doesn't sound like something JK would write)

Chapter One:

Hagrid woke early the morning after Professor Dumbledore's funeral. He had a lot of things to get done today, and although his heart was heavy and he would have liked nothing more to stay in bed all day and reminisce about the good times he'd had with Albus, the closest thing to a father figure Hagrid ever had. He missed him terribly, and the pain was even more intense given the manner of his death.

Making himself a cup of tea, Hagrid let a yowling Fang out of the hut and sat outside on the step, staring up towards the castle and the white marble tomb of Dumbledore, visible towards the great lake.

Later on that morning, while Hagrid was chopping wood at the back of his hut, a tawny owl swooped over to him and dropped a letter on his head. Putting down his axe and picking up the letter, Hagrid saw it was a note from Professor, no Headmistress now, McGonagall, asking him to meet her for lunch.

Hagrid made his way up to the castle at lunchtime, taking a basket of rock cakes with him, and wound his way up to Minerva's office. She hadn't yet moved into the Headmaster's office, she too obviously thought it was too soon after Dumbledore's death. A knock on the door, and a voice called out "Come in Hagrid"

"Good mornin', Minerva. These are for you" Hagrid said, putting the rock cakes on her desk with the sandwiches that were already sitting there.

"Thank you Hagrid" Minerva said, her voice sad and her eyes still red with tears. "Sandwich?" she offered him, and quietly, they both ate the sandwiches and cakes.

"There was something I wanted to ask you Hagrid, I thought it better to ask now instead of before the new school year started" Minerva started. Hagrid wondered what she was going to ask, but she soon continued talking. "I will be taking the position of Headmistress next term, which means Gryffindor Head of House will be empty - Hagrid, i'd like you to take that position next term, if you want it" she said, resting her hands on her lap.

"I'd be honoured, Minerva" Hagrid said, both sad and happy at the same time.

Another letter arrived for Hagrid later that afternoon, with an official Ministry of Magic seal on it. Ministry letters had never contained good news for Hagrid previously, and he hoped this one didn't ruin his chance of being Gryffindor Head of House next term. He opened the letter slowly and read it


Hagrid was blown away by this news - he was a proper wizard now! No longer did he have to hide the bits of his broken wand in that pink umbrella. He resolved to get a new wand from Diagon Alley as soon as possible.



I don't know if this bit is long enough, feedback would be nice. I thought maybe chapter two could be Bill and Fleur's wedding. Any volunteers to write that chapter?

I like it, very well write. I can try to do the next chapter. I am going to make a draft and let you read it so you can tell me what you think.

EDIT- I just now remebered Hagrids Hut is no more it had caught on fire. Maybe you need to add that he rebuilt it or was rooming in the castle at the time being. Please let me know which one you chose so I know for the second chapter.

Chapter 2

Even though Hagrid was now going to be Head of House for Gryffindor, he preferred to keep the little hut as his home.
With deep strides he made his way up to the castle. He entered into the Entrance Hall which seemed unusual at the moment, looking around he did not notice anything out of place and continued his way to the Great Hall . As he swung the doors open he was engulfed in a sight that he wished he would be able to soon forget. There lying near one another he saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione and they seem to be injured.
Hagrid then begun to race over to them, “Wa’cha lot doin’ he’e?” His heart racing as he neared his three friends who seemed to be so badly hurt they were unable to answer his question.
Arriving about three feet away from them he realized why they were not speaking. Their eyes were closed and they seemed to be awkwardly white which could only mean one thing- they were dead.
A cold sweat covered Hagrid as he lifted his enormous hands to his eyes and began to sob. Feeling a cool wet item against his face he quickly removed his hands to find himself in his hut. He had been in his bed dreaming. “Wha’ the bloody,” Hagrid thought to himself. “Ge’ tergether,” he told himself setting up to realize that the cold thing that had awakened him was his blood hound Fang’s noses. He patted his beloved pet on the head as he wrestled his restless body to a standing position. “Lot te do,” he thought out loud- Hagrid was going on this very day to see Harry, Ron, and Hermione. He thought that maybe the fact he was going to see the three had promoted the nightmare, along with a little too much Ogden Old Firewhisky.

Later that day Hagrid arrived at Diagon Alley and to his surprise it was fairly busy, in light of all the events that had occurred recently.
He made his way up the Alley stopping in front of Ollivanders Wand Shop which remained empty after Mr. Ollivanders disappearance. Letting out a deep sigh he turned to continue the route that would lead him to his destination.

“Hagrid,” someone yelled to him from his left. Turning Hagrid seen two red hair unforgettable boys knowing right away it was the Wesley Twins, Fred and George.

“Well howa doi’," Hagrid asked making his way over toward the twins. “Ya lot is suppose to be hevin’ a weddin’ to attend…right?”

“That’s why we are here,” replied Fred quickly. “Yes,” continued George. “Phlegm, I mean Fleur- is having us pick up the dress robes.”
“Welp, I must get agoin’. I’ll see ya lot the’e,” Hagrid said to the twins as he turned and continued walking down Diagon Alley.

Fred and George’s oldest brother Bill was getting married on this day to Fleur Delacour. Fleur was at first not like by the twins mother or younger sister; however, Fleur became liked by all when Bill was attacked and she proclaimed her love for him still.
The wedding was being held at the Wesley house in there now beautifully decorated garden. Chairs were being magically set up by Charlie and Arthur who was already dressed in their dress robes.
Hagrid had attempted to brush his hair and exchanged his raged moleskin overcoat for some more appealing clothing. As he neared the burrow he began to scan the area; however, not seeing who he was looking for he walked over to where Charlie and Arthur stood. “Ah, howa doin’ the’e Aruthur..Charlie?” Arthur looked up from the chairs he was placing into rows and smiled at the gigantic man. “Hagrid, good fellow, how are you,” Arthur asked just as two chairs collided into one another.
“Aaarthurrrr..,” a high pitched yell came screeching out from somewhere near the Burrow. Hagrid turned to see who it was; it soon became clear that it was indeed Molly. She came running down the yard toward where the three stood, “Oh my, hi Hagrid, Arthur I need you to come here immediately.” Arthur turned to Hagrid shaking his head as he was then taken by the hand and drag up toward the barrow by his wife.
Hagrid smiled as he turned to look at the surrounding area where he found Ron and Harry standing by the edge of the yard. “Welp ye lot goin’ to telk to me?” Ron and Harry had already started walking over to Hagrid when they heard, “Ah Mister Hagrid. I ‘ave missted you.”
Hagrid’s heart skipped a beat or two when he heard this. Looking over toward the road that leads to the Burrow he saw that there stood Madame Olympe Maxime. Ron and Harry exchanged a look before turning to go help Ron’s mother with the final preparations.
Hagrid walked down to the road so that he may escort Olympe to her seat. When he arrived to where she stood he greeted her happily, “Olympe.” Together arm in arm he walked her up to where they would be setting.
The ceremony was what most people called beautiful; however, Hagrid did not notice; his attention was centered on Olympe. Finally, as everyone started to clamp Hagrid’s stare had been disturbed and replaced by the newly wedded Bill & Fleur Wesley. Clapping along with everyone else Hagrid rose from his seat and stood beside Olympe as they watched the bride and groom walk from their sight.
“Hagrid, we really need to talk with you and maybe you should listen as well Madame Maxime,” Hermione said in a noteworthy voice. Ron and Harry were standing at her side, both looking very uneasy. “Well,” said Harry stepping up. “It’s kinda a long story.” Finally after a minute or so he gathered up the nerve, “Have you ever heard of a horcruxes?”
