We were all in Grimmauld Place, back in London, waiting for news.

‘Are, Mr. Weasly, Harry and Ron going to be okay?’ Carly asked no one in particular.

‘I’m pretty sure they will.’ Lupin assured us as our hot chocolate lay untouched.

It was cold here, so different from less than two hours ago. It felt strange and the atmosphere was so tense a knife could cut through it. I wanted to be at the Burrow rather than here.

Life was so simple and I forgot about this place, about the Order.

‘Why don’t you all go to bed, in the morning it’ll all be better.’ Professor Lupin said to us.

No one argued. It was only me, Carly, Fred, George and Ginny but we were all shaky and it felt so strange that Harry and Ron weren’t with us right now.

‘It’s right in there.’ Ginny informed us pointing in the room we stayed in long ago.

‘Night.’ Fred and George said quickly before apparating up to their own room.

In the morning, we all headed to breakfast quietly. I didn’t like the tension that filled the room. No one bothered to say anything. This time, it wasn’t just Mr. Weasly who was wounded, but Ron and Harry too. Mrs. Weasly was also having a difficult time. No one even told us what happened and Mrs. Weasly was the only one who knew, but seemed speechless from what I could tell.

Tomorrow we were going back to Hogwarts, so I figured they had to tell us before we left.

‘Can someone please tell us what happened?’ Fred asked angrily when no one spoke for about ten minutes. We all turned to Lupin for his response.

‘I would you guys, I’m serious, but your mother just can’t tell us, she’s too shocked, so Snape is working up a potion for her.’ Lupin told us.

‘Snape? Professor Snape? I’m sorry everyone but I’m really confused. Where are we? What is the Order?’ Carly asked.

‘Ah yes, I suppose your parents never told you? Riverson right? Amanda and Daniel, they’re both in this, they were our American representatives, but they preferred to be nearer to Headquarters.’ Lupin said, surprising us all.

‘What?’ Carly asked with complete shock. I could understand how much that was for her to take in so suddenly.

‘How about I explain it to you later. We’ve got mail.’ Lupin said as a Screech Owl flew in from a black open window. It was painted black, not dirt thankfully. I’d never seen this place look so clean. I stared out the window to see nothing but an illusion of snow falling. I was in Cuba, hot Cuba just a few hours ago. Kissing Draco Malfoy on the beach, under the moon and stars!

‘Ah, it’s from Tonks.’ Professor Lupin said getting up. ‘We’re going to Mungo’s.’

Yay, new reader <3 Oh I actually gasped when I read that Harry was bloody. It would have been VERY awkward if Hermione had just been kissing malfoy and her boyfriend died. HERMIONE CHEATED!!!!!!!!! i can't believe it :O I think that she and harry should just be friends, as they just like talking to each other and their kisses aren't passionate. I also think that Ron should be in it more, just because he is hardly ever mentioned. I absolutely love the character of Carly, which is funny because on fan fics I usually hate made up characters. I do believe that this is the best fan fic I've read yay and i have read a LOT lol keep up the awesome work <3

Just when everything was simple.

I didn’t expect it to last of course, every year had something crazy happening, especially if you’re friends, well, now girlfriend to Harry Potter.

Oh gosh. I just remembered Draco. His dad escaped in the summer though, but everything in the.. ‘adult’ world meant nothing to us. Or did it now?

I started questioning whether he was kissing me as a distraction from what happened in the Cabin. Maybe Crabbe and Goyle’s parents did something? After all, they were Death Eaters.

I really hope he wasn’t involved any way at all. I liked him too much.

We arrived at Mungo’s and visited Ron and Harry who were waking up. Mr. Weasly was in critical condition.

‘I think it’s because he was trying to protect both of them. He got hurt the most.’ Tonks told us.

‘Molly’s speaking, she says something about Black and McNair.’ Mad-eye Moody’s face brought back memories of last year.

Carly looked thoroughly scared. His magical eye spun on her. ‘Don’t worry girl, I’m not a scary homeless man if that’s what you were thinking.’

She gasped, probably at him reading her thoughts.

‘Alright.’ Lupin left and went to talk to her while we walked up slowly to Ron and Harry’s beds.

Tears sprung to my eyes as I looked at Harry. His face was so pale. His eyes were blinking open slowly. A smile formed on his lips as he saw me.

‘Hermione?’ He whispered.

‘Yes Harry, it’s me.’ I said kneeling over him.

‘I’m sorry.’ He said.

‘What for?’ I asked.

‘Ruining your holiday. Everywhere you go with me, something bad has to happen.’ He said quietly, so only I could here.

The others were surrounding Ron who was talking fast, telling every detail of what happened. I could care less though.

I smiled and the tears slid down my face.

‘I love you.’ He said tiredly.

‘I-I love you too. Go to sleep Harry.’ I told him and wiped the tears away as he shut his eyes.

I felt horribly guilty. While Harry was nearly killed by Death Eaters, I was sharing a passionate kiss under the moon and stars with his enemy.

We were on our way back to Hogwarts, and it was pretty late. Harry and Ron were both moved into the Hospital wing at Hogwarts, since their injuries weren’t that bad and Madam Pomfrey would take care of them.

We went to classes, not hearing much news outside of school. I really didn’t mind, I didn’t want to know what was happening. Everyone at Hogwarts somehow discovered though, the entire school was asking me what happened, but I told them I knew nothing.

They cancelled a Quidditch Match since Gryffindor was going to play and Ron and Harry were important members of the team.

I visited them every day, mostly Harry who was recovering slowly. Tears always came as I saw his face. I felt so guilty.

‘I think it was a fun trip to Cuba before all of that drama thought right?’ Carly asked me one day before turning out the lights.

‘Yeah definitely..’ My thoughts swirled back to Draco before I drifted off into sleep.

I woke up the next morning, and had to tell someone about the kiss with Draco at the beach, so for the whole day I contemplated telling Carly.

And after dinner, I made sure Carly and I were alone in the Common Room before spilling it out.

She looked thoughtfully at me. ‘Hermione, I think that feeling…is love.’

My heart dropped.

I was in love with two guys.

People stopped bothering me with questions about the incident after I began snapping at them. Why didn’t I think of this earlier?
I tried to avoid seeing Draco at all costs, but it definitely was not working.
‘Can I talk to you?’ He asked me one night while I was sitting in the library.

‘Sure.’ I said with a straight face, and he led me to the back of the school which was empty and dark. Also very cold since it was snowing.

‘What’s going on with us?’ He asked as we walked in private, making sure no one was around.

‘What do you mean? Nothing I guess.’ I replied simply.

‘So what was with that kiss in Cuba? Did it not mean anything? Were you just cheating on Harry?’ Draco asked.

‘No…I didn’t mean to. It was nothing.’ I told him walking a bit further.

‘Nothing? You told me you liked me Hermione. Don’t bother lying.’

‘So I like you? That’s it.’

'Then why can't you be with me?' His irritated voice asked as he followed me further back of the school.

'Because I'm with Harry!' I yelled stopping and turning to face him.

‘You’re only with him, because you pity him. You’re forcing yourself to feel sorry for him, denying you like, or maybe even love me.’

My eyes began to sting as I looked up at his sparkling eyes.

‘Are you scared you might actually have fallen in love with me?’ He asked.

He took me in his strong, warm arms, and I didn't protest. I let him lean over and kiss me so tenderly and all over again the world stopped. He pulled away so I could see his eyes.

I bit my lip and tried to hold in the tears while watching my breath in the wintry night.

How could someone who makes you so happy, make you so sad?

‘You don’t have to be with him.’ He said quieter than a whisper.

'But I can't be with you.' I whispered gently, with tears slowly falling.

‘Why?’

‘Because I’m Hermione Granger, and you’re Draco Malfoy, that’s the way it will always be no matter what!’ I yelled. ‘We’re too different.’ I said more softly as the tears began to pour out fast.

He shook his head and sighed, piercing me with those eyes. ‘I'll go without a fight, if you can tell me you love him.' He said softly, his grey eyes sparkling in the dark.

I swallowed hard and closed my eyes. 'I do love him.' I whispered.

Draco looked hurt for a moment, his eyes suddenly dark and unpredictable. 'Then be with him.' He said letting go of my hands.

The warmth and happiness seemed to seep out of me as I watch his form walk away, until all I could see was the dark building.
