dump harry go for draco, i just wanna go out on to the roof tops and screem that last remark, lol pams!!!!!!!!

It was early December, and I hope Professor McGonagall and Snape were over being angry with Draco and I. After plenty of detentions, which weren’t that bad, Snape came back on a Monday.

He seemed okay, he was actually different, and not so mad at us for some reason. It almost seemed like he was happy he wound up at Mungo’s.

During our first Potions lesson with Snape back, he was, how can I say this…nicer?

He would sometimes sigh and look into space. It was really weird, yet nice at the same time.

‘He seems nice.’ Carly announced as the class got the ingredients for the potion we were making.

‘He’s not normally like this.’ I explained and got up to get some things.

‘Miss Granger, Mr Malfoy.’ Snape said after class. I looked at Draco, who shrugged and came up with me. The rest of the class filed out.

‘I just want to tell you, your punishment is over, and that’s it. Just be more careful next time.’ He said simply.

Draco and I said, ‘Yes sir.’

‘What was that about?’ Draco asked as we walked out of the dungeons together.

‘No clue.’ I replied.

‘Well, at least our punishment is done!’ Draco said happily as we walked towards the Great Hall for lunch.

‘Yeah, it was great having detentions with you.’ I said sarcastically smiling at him.

‘Oh yeah. So fun.’ He said laughing.

We entered the Great Hall and split up and I went to sit with Carly, Harry and Ron as usual.

‘Are you and Malfoy friends?’ Ron asked me right when I sat down.

‘I guess.’ I replied piling food on my plate.

‘He’s not as rude as last year huh?’ Harry asked.

‘Yeah, Carly you wouldn’t believe how he was last year. This year, he just ignores us basically. Maybe you’re defrosting him Hermione.’ Ron teased with a laugh.

Harry looked awkwardly at him. Carly looked at me with a big grin. ‘I think she is.’

‘Hermione, I’m really sorry, Ginny asked me to stay from Hogsmeade tonight, she needs some help on an assignment.’ Harry’s words made my anger boil.

Ginny asking Harry for help on an assignment? Puh-lease.

I smiled encouragingly anyway. ‘Okay, I’ll go with Ron then.’ I told him as he hugged me tightly.

All who were attending the ball got to leave to go to Hogsmeade to buy gowns and robes for the formal event since it wasn’t mentioned earlier. And now, Harry was saying he couldn’t go.

‘I’ve actually got a detention with McGonagall. Some prefect I am huh?’ Ron said with an apologetic smile.

‘It’s ok.’ I didn’t have the will to yell at him and nag him to do better and stay out of trouble.

‘Well, it’s ok, I’ll go with you.’ Carly linked arms with me and we left Harry and Ron in the Common Room so they could get a bit more sleep before getting up. ‘Just us girls! We can do some Christmas shopping, and get our dresses for the Ball!!’ She said excitedly.

We met Travis by the doors and he was standing with Malfoy, who looked great by the way, in his baggy, navy jeans and white unbuttoned dress shirt with a black t-shirt under. His hair was spiked up at the front, and he looked like a Muggle. A hot one.

‘Hey Carly!’ Travis said as we approached. He kissed her for I don’t know how long, while me and Malfoy smiled at each other and glanced at lip locking couple awkwardly. I wish I was kissing someone right now like that.

‘I have an idea.’ Carly said after they let each other breathe. ‘Draco, who are you going with to Hogsmeade?’

‘I was actually going with Burke here. Crabbe and Goyle have a detention.’ Draco said with a laugh. ‘They got into a fight with some first years.’

‘Oh, well, Hermione was going with me. So, why don’t we all just go together?’ She suggested, but made it sound more like a statement.

‘Ok.’ Draco agreed.

I smiled and nodded in agreement.

‘Right, so let’s go then!’ Travis walked all the way to Hogsmeade with his arm around Carly’s shoulder.

Draco and I walked slower behind them and talked about random things.

‘I think Snape’s in love.’ Draco said with a grin.

‘What?’ I asked. ‘Why?’

‘Well, don’t tell anyone, but yesterday, I overheard him reading a letter from someone. Something about enjoying their long talks and breakfasts together in Mungo’s. I think he fell for a nurse or something!’ Draco said with a smile.

‘Oh wow, that’s so strange. Snape? In love… It seems like everyone’s falling in love these days.’ I said with a sigh.

He smiled and looked me in the eyes. I loved they way he looked at me. ‘Yeah. How are you and Potter doing?’ He asked taking his grey eyes off me and looking at Carly and Travis who were whispering to each other and giggling.

‘We’re ok.’ I replied.

‘You guys have a lot of trust in your relationship huh?’

‘Of course. I can definitely trust Harry.’ If he wanted to cheat, he had the opportunity a million times with Ginny. Even today! And he could definitely trust me. I wouldn’t cheat on him.

‘I believe you.’ Draco paused. ‘But can you trust yourself?’

I was puzzled. I could trust myself. Who couldn’t?

Then it struck me, I couldn’t. Not with Draco I couldn’t.

We arrived at Hogsmeade a bit later. You have no idea how many times the thoughts of wanting Draco to put his arm around me and kiss me occurred. I’m such a bad girlfriend.

He smiled down at me so many times my heart would beat so fast and loud, I bet he could hear.

We entered different shops, candy shops, joke shops, anything interesting.
We went to the Three Broomsticks and drank some drinks, and just talked. When I looked out the window, it was snowing!
‘Guys look!’ I exclaimed and pointed outside.

The sky was dark and grey, but the white falling snow made me feel so good inside.

‘Wow!’ A lot of people inside were now leaving to try to make snow balls or snow angels. The snow had been piling up fast on the frosty, hard ground. White blanketed the ground, making the darkness seem somewhat brighter.

We went outside and had a little snow ball fight, which I couldn’t stop laughing throughout. Draco hit Travis with one, causing Carly to run by his side and throw them back. We had two teams, Carly and Travis, Draco and I.

We chased each other everywhere and then wound up by a few expensive stores with Hogwarts sixth and seventh year students milling around for gifts and dresses. The fight stopped when we all sat down on the snow covered bench. Draco and I won of course.

‘Look, Hermione let’s go in there! They have the nicest dresses.’ Carly said pointing into a small boutique with costly yet exquisite gowns. I could see many Hogwarts girls walking around it. No guys were in sight.

‘Ooh wow!! Okay!’ I agreed getting up.

Draco pulled me back down and I ended up on his lap. ‘We’re not going in there with you.’ He said and Travis nodded.

I smiled. ‘Fine. You and Travis can go wherever and we’ll see you back at Hogwarts.’ I told him, picking up snow and lightly tossing it at him.

Carly was eyeing us and giggling. Travis was smiling and he and Carly exchanged looks.

‘Great.’ Draco lifted me off his lap. ‘Let’s go Travis. We’ll see you two later.’ He started to walk away.

‘Yeah, bye Carly.’ Travis kissed her quickly and they went around the corner.
We entered the shop and tried on dress after dress.

We purchased what we wanted and then went back to Hogwarts in time for dinner.

This was one of the best Hogsmeade visits, even without Harry.

Sorry for not posting for a while, I've been busy and very stressed.
Thanks for your replies, and here's two chapters to make up for my lateness!

It was the day of the Ball which was a Friday, conveniently. It also happened to be the day before Saturday when everyone would be going home for the holidays.
I decided to go with Ron and Harry to the Burrow. Harry begged and pleaded so much, and they also invited Carly so now I had to go, it would be my first Christmas with her.

I really wouldn't be able to stand Ginny who was also going, most likely for Harry, but I really could care less these days. I didn't care if Ginny wanted to flirt with Harry, or that she wanted him at all. She could have him for all I cared. I was only going since Carly was. Travis was going to visit his father outside of London.

As dinner started, the sixth and seventh year girls only stayed for about ten minutes before rushing off to get ready for the Ball which started at eight and ended at midnight.

I was one of those girls. Carly and I ran out and went upstairs to change into our gowns and do our hair. I fixed my hair so it fell in thick ringlets, just past my shoulders, and I clipped it into a fancy bun with curls falling around it.

Carly was absolutely gorgeous in her white halter dress and sash. She decided to really straighten her blonde hair, clipping half back and for make up, she used a good amount.

'Hermione, you have to have make up!' She shouted trying to get me to let her put on make up.

'I hate make up though!' I argued.

'I know, and you're so pretty without it. But imagine if you put it on, you would be stunning. Like an actress or something!' She said doing a dramatic pose.

I laughed and gave in. 'Fine, just a bit!'

'Don't worry, I'll do nude make up for you. Guys will definitely notice something though, so you'll have them crawling at your feet.' She said and opened her make up bag.

She added mascara, light eyeliner, pink eye shadow to match my dress, and a bit of some other stuff.

Finally it was eight and I was amazed at the way everyone looked. Also, at the way I looked. I had on a pink sleeveless gown, a white sash and white lacy high flats. The cost was through the roof, but it was beautiful! It was an impulse buy.

We met Harry and Ron in the Common Room. Ginny was there too, she happened to also be asked to the Ball by one of her ex boyfriends in the sixth year in Ravenclaw. She was wearing a lavender gown, which you could tell wasn’t that expensive, but still she looked okay.

'Hermione…' Harry looked dumbfounded by me. Wow, what an effect.

'You look gorgeous Hermione! And you too Carly!' Ron was glancing from me to Carly with a grin on his face.

'You do look okay..' Ginny mumbled truthfully.

'OKAY? She's miraculous! So flawless.. you could be a model!' Harry exaggerated.

'Carly did my make-up.' I informed him.

'It's wonderful!' He exclaimed.

I was definitely flattered and pleased with everyone's comments. We went to the corridor where everyone was waiting for the Great Hall doors to be opened and where they were waiting for their dates, all looking their best. Many glanced our way and stared at me. It was really uncomforting. I guess I knew how Harry felt all the time.

The doors opened finally.

The inside of the Great Hall was unrecognizable.

There was a group who was playing music tonight and was popular in the Wizard world.

Everyone headed first to the refreshments and food. Carly and Travis sat with Harry and I and Ron who found a date in Hufflepuff. Her name was Emily Blair, she was from a Muggle family like me. She wasn't that pretty in her stringy, straggly bright orange dress and her auburn hair clashed horribly with it.

'Herms!' Carly exclaimed so I turned in my seat at the table.

'What is it?' I asked.

'Look at Pansy!' She said with a look of disgust.

I glanced in her direction, by the door obviously making some sort of entrance. I spotted Malfoy on the sideline, staring on with the rest of the students. He looked so hot. But she didn't at all.

Her dark hair was pinned up strangely, and her dress… Could I even call it a dress? It was more of a corrupted piece of fabric.

'Ew. She's shut a who-'

'Carly!' Travis stopped her with a playful grin.

'Aw I'm sorry sweetie.' Carly kissed him softly. 'He's trying to get rid of my "vulgar" language.' Carly said with a laugh. 'What a gentlemen. I bet he's never made out with a girl before.' She added to me in a murmur.

I laughed and then turned back to Pansy, who had guys at her feet. She had walked in with two other girls who also had their dresses torn apart by niflers or something.

Pansy's 'dress' was dark purple, cut off above mid thigh, and tight at the chest and stomach. There were cuts in the fabric to flaunt off her stomach, her back, and just above her chest.

I watched intently as Draco approached her, in his jet black robes, and she attached herself to him, literally.

I was jealous.

We finished eating and then started to dance. I danced with a Harry a few times, but then got lazy and went to sit down with Carly.

'Where's your boyfriend?' I asked smiling.

'He went to get me a drink.' She said flicking her loose blonde strands back.

'Oh, don't you think this is kinda boring?' I asked over the loud music which was changing to soft tunes.

Travis came towards us with two drinks and offered me one that was obviously meant for himself.

'Hmm. Oh hey baby,' Carly wrapped her arms around Travis after sipping her drink, then got up to dance a slow song. They were really cute together. One of the best looking couples at Hogwarts I’d have to say.

This was the most boring thing ever. I sat, I danced, I drank, I ate and I talked to people. I watched everyone in their perfect gowns and robes and their perfect hair. Ron and his date were dancing happily, and Ginny seemed to be eyeing Harry every time we danced.

I, on the other hand, was glancing at Draco, who was dancing so wrongly with Pansy, one of her friends, and girl after girl. Such a player.

I continued to check the time, hoping to head up early. There was still an hour left of the Ball and only a few had left. Some went outside in the dark cold to have privacy, while others stayed in the giant hall outside the Great Hall, surrounded by plants to be in warm privacy.

I decided one more dance before leaving would be ok. Harry took me in his arms while the band began to play.

'Can I cut in for a sec?' A smooth voice drawled.

I looked up.. I wouldn't say excitedly, but just…ok I was elated.

'What for Malfoy?' Harry asked pulling me a bit closer.

'It's ok.' I told Harry who looked like he was going to murder Draco.

Harry looked at me and I nodded, leaving him to walk off, leaving me to be in Draco's arms.

oh a post! yayayayayay! that made my day! i have strep throat right now, so now...i have something to do!!!

anyway, though, that post was SOOOOO cute! i can't wait to see what happens...

aw, thanks!!! I'm all better now (thank goodness!) The medicine worked really REALLY fast.

He smiled and pulled me close while the music continued. I smiled to myself while putting my head on Draco's broad shoulder.

He smelled like winter, if that makes sense. Cold, fresh, clean, almost making me shiver, yet it made me feel enchanted and warm.

'Having fun tonight?' He whispered. His right hand toyed with my loose brown hair falling out of the bun. He twisted it around his fingers before gently tucking it behind my ear.

‘Not really.’ I replied truthfully looking up at him. ‘So how many girls have you danced with so far?’

He looked at me with a raised eyebrow and counted his fingers. ‘Too many to count,’ He said with a sheepish grin.

‘Wow… so I take it you’re having fun?’ I asked.

I wasn’t really paying attention to anyone around us, but I could faintly make out Harry’s face in the corner, sitting with Ginny beside him. They were both watching us, Harry with an angry look, Ginny with a somewhat jealous look.

‘No. If I was a regular guy, I would be overjoyed, but this is like a regular day to me. Girls prancing at my feet, all because of my boyish good looks. And who can resist my smile?’ He said.

I laughed. ‘Oh yeah Draco, cause every girl adores you.’ I couldn’t resist that smile though. I’m just like every girl.

The song ended after a while and I let go of Draco. ‘Well, I’m going up to bed now, I guess I’ll see you after the holiday.’

‘Alright.’

I began walking away, with my soft pink gown fluttering merrily behind me, when he called me.

‘Hermione, wait-‘

‘What is it?’ I asked as he ran up to me.

My heart was pounding hard. I was expecting something serious, seeing the look he presented.

‘I just want to tell you…’ He looked confused for a moment. I searched his clear grey eyes for any sign of what he was about to tell me.

‘Never mind.’ The confused look faded, and his eyes went back to a solid, stony color.

I raised my eyebrow at him when Harry tapped me on the shoulder.

‘I guess I’ll see you later then. Oh and you look… perfect tonight.’ Draco said with one last smile, and he walked away. Why was I so flattered by that comment?

Harry looked a bit mad, but he didn’t really have a good reason to be.

‘I’m gonna go to bed now.’ I said, cutting him of as he was about to say something.

Instead of talking, he nodded curtly and pecked me lightly on the cheek.

I went up to bed and slept happily. The Ball wasn’t that bad. I was planning on breaking up with Harry, just to be available…just in case.
