On Monday we went to our regular classes. Potion’s was one I wasn’t looking forward to, not because of the teacher, but the students. They were all talking about Draco and I. The Slytherin’s and Gryffindor’s were all asking me if it was true.

‘Hermione, aren’t you with Harry though?’ Parvati asked me as Carly was holding in laughter beside me.

I shot her a nasty look. ‘Draco and I are NOT together! I’m with Harry!’

‘Carly, aren’t you and Draco supposed to be together?’ Lavender asked.

Carly couldn’t help it any more and started to laugh. She shrugged and Parvati and Lavender frowned at her answer.

‘Carly! This is driving me mad! Everyone’s annoying me, Harry and you! Harry shouldn’t even be in all this! I feel so bad.’

‘Well, Draco’s having fun with it. He’s telling anyone who asks about it a different story each time! It’s really funny actually.’ Carly said nodding towards Draco, who was telling a fellow Slytherin that he tricked us both into seeing him.

Ughh, stupid b*****d.

After class, I went up to Malfoy and had to tell him to fix it. ‘I can’t believe you had to make up that lie! Any other lie and I would have been fine!’

‘Well, what was your brilliant plan? Say you had some incurable disease or that you weren’t into guys or something?’ Malfoy asked.

‘No, but why…It’s not funny Draco!’ I yelled as he laughed.

‘I think it is. I mean, you got to admit it is. Did you see their faces? Priceless, and then Carly and Potter when they found out? That was hilarious.’ He said grinning.

‘Why are you telling everyone different stories?’ I asked getting annoyed. He was always so calm and relaxed whenever I was agitated. His reactions only made me angrier.

He shrugged. ‘It’s so much fun. On one side of the school, you’ll hear someone saying stuff about a drunk giant trying to steal you away, on the other side you hear them saying I dumped Carly because you blackmailed me.’ He said with a smile.

I groaned and tried to get away from him, heading into a washroom.

I was cursed.

No more restrooms for me...

I opened the door to leave the bathroom, to see Malfoy laughing so hard.

‘Again Hermione? What is it with you and boys bathrooms? I mean, you are really a girl aren’t you? You kiss like one… but then again, I’ve never kissed a guy so I wouldn’t know the difference.’ He said with a smirk.

Okay, I hate to admit it, but his smiles and charm was starting to work on me. Even though it shouldn’t.

‘Shut up Malfoy!’ I yelled.

‘Okay, I’d love to wait around doing nothing with you, but I’ve got places to be. I’ll see later Hermione, maybe in the guys bathroom?’ He walked away laughing at his own joke.

I headed to lunch and met up with Carly, who looked deep in thought.

‘Hermione, I think I wanna break up with Malfoy.’ She said after a while.

I stopped chewing and swallowed. ‘What?’ I asked curiously.

‘I don’t really like him anymore.’ She said plainly.

‘Ok, there has to be a better reason than that, you don’t normally break up with guys who are amazingly good looking do you?’ I asked her.

‘Well, seriously…I think he likes someone else. Someone I know.’ Carly said looking around at her food.

‘Really? Who?’

She sighed and looked up at me. ‘You.’

I laughed but she didn’t laugh back. Me? Did Carly really think Malfoy would like me?

I went to the Common Room and hung out with Harry for a while before going to sleep.

Ginny finally backed off, but I knew she still wanted Harry no matter what. I wasn’t going to let her have him though.

As I slept, I dreamt about Draco, flying on a broom, and Carly sitting around laughing. Harry was clinging to Ginny’s arm. ‘Catch me if you can Hermione!’ Draco was saying mystically.

‘Go Hermione!’ Carly said with a laugh. Ron was standing there looking bored and he was tossing a Quaffle around.

What a strange dream. At a time like this, I could use Professor Trelawney to decipher it with her crazy ideas.

‘I broke up with him!’ Carly said relieved at breakfast the next morning. ‘If you want, go for him Hermione.’

‘Are you joking?’ I laughed and she grinned slyly.

After Transfiguration, McGonagall asked me to pass a message to Malfoy that we would serve detention tomorrow at six pm. Snape was slowly recovering and would be back in time for Christmas.

I went to the change rooms, since the Slytherin team just had practice out in the cold rain.

‘Is Malfoy in there?’ I asked the Travis guy, he seemed the nicest out of the entire Slytherin team.

‘Yeah.’ He nodded and left with his broom over his shoulder.

I couldn’t help but check him out from behind as he walked away. I could tell he worked out. Ok, getting in way over my head here. I’m here to talk to Malfoy, not check out guys.

I entered the change room which was empty, and went to the Captains special change room. I knocked and Draco’s voice answered saying to come in. So I opened the door.

I was facing Draco’s bare back. He was kneeling over, in only uniform pants, topless.

‘Uh, Draco?’ I said realising why I came in.

‘Yeah-‘ He turned around. ‘Oh h*ll Granger! What are you doing in here?’ He asked.

I didn’t mean to stare, but I couldn’t help it. How did he hide his flawless body under those robes all the time? I did expect him to be fit, but not that perfect. I let my eyes travel to his shoulders and slowly followed down to his strong arms, going down to his chest, wow, then to his stomach! I wanted to faint. Those abs…It seemed like the slowest moment as he ran his fingers through his wet blond hair. Water dripped down his face and chest, going down his stomach, slowly caressing each rippling ab. Lucky water droplet!

He noticed my staring and smiled confidently. ‘Admiring my body Granger?’

I looked up at his face and blushed. It seemed like my eyes had some sort of pull towards his body, because they wouldn’t stay looking up at him or down at the ground.

He chuckled, delighted at his power over me probably. Very slowly, he picked up a white t-shirt and model-like, he pulled it over his head.

‘So did you want something? Or are you just here to watch me change? If so, I’m afraid I’ll need the same in return.’ He said pulling on his school robes.

I cleared my throat and couldn’t even remember what I was going to say.

All I could think about was that body… Surely Quidditch didn’t make his body that nice. Harry played Quidditch and his body wasn’t even that perfect.

‘Wondering how I got so fit?’ He asked reading my mind.

‘What? No..’ I said looking down.

He raised his eyebrow. ‘When a girl stares at me like that, it usually means how did you get such a nice body, or how would that body look on top of me? I don’t think you’re the type to think the second one. If you are wondering, I’ll be glad to demonstrate.’ He said with a smile that made me have trouble breathing. ‘Thought so. I just play basketball, hockey or I’ll just exercise. Wizarding sports are harder to get fit at.’

‘Did you say basketball or hockey?’ I asked him incredulously.

‘Yeah, they’re Muggle sports. I thought you’d know.’

‘Oh I do, just never thought you would.’

‘Yeah, well there’s lots of things you don’t know about me.’

‘I’m sure.’ I said. ‘Where do you play these sports?’ I asked curiously.

‘In the summer, there’s these Muggles nearby, they know me as Tom though. It’s a common Muggle name apparently. My parents don’t know though, otherwise they’d murder me for associating with Muggles.’

I nodded at his answer. Draco Malfoy, playing Muggle sports.. with Muggles.

‘Well, what was it you wanted to tell me?’ Malfoy asked picking up a towel and putting it around his neck.

Boy, was it hot in here or was it just him?

‘I just wanted to tell you that…’ What was it again? ‘We have detention with McGonagall tomorrow at six.’ I said, using my brain this time. I can’t believe I lost all my sense for those few glorious minutes.

‘Oh ok, that’s great.’ He said sarcastically walking towards the door I was blocking.

‘Yeah.’ I turned to leave when he put his hand on my shoulder. I looked at his hand questioningly.

‘Hermione, can I ask you something?’ He said.

‘Didn’t give me much of a choice there did you?’ I asked with a smile.

He smiled his beautiful smile back causing my knees to go weak. ‘Do you know why
Carly broke up with me?’

‘Uh..’ I looked down at the floor.

‘Never mind.’ He shook his head and I turned again, leaving the Captains room. He followed me out into the hall. Wonder what that meant?

‘I have another question.’ He stated walking to catch up with me.

‘Yes Draco?’ I asked.

‘I've been with many girls, and I mean, lots.. like there were those twin girls I even dated at one time!’

‘A bit off topic Malfoy..’ I muttered.

‘Heh, right. How do you and Potter work out? I mean, how do you stay together?’

I walked slowly and didn’t think twice about the answer. ‘Trust, honesty, love.’ I replied.

He nodded and then stopped at his stair case. ‘Love…’ He looked lost. ‘Sure it’s not lust?’

He didn’t give me a chance to argue. He said good-bye and headed up the stairs, leaving me puzzled and bedazzled by him. He also left me with that floating feeling I felt with him so many times before

The next morning was a Thursday, just one more day till the weekend. I didn’t even realise how quickly time passed, it was already Halloween.

I sat down at the Gryffindor table a bit late. Carly, Ron and Harry were already there.

‘Hermione! Where have you been these days?’ Ron asked me.

‘Mostly detention.’ I said with a grin.

‘Oh right. Are you gonna be able to go to Hogsmeade this Saturday?’ He asked eating some toast.

‘Really, I don’t know. I can’t believe I have to miss so much all because of that stupid first day.’ I complained.

‘I know, we haven’t even been seeing much of each other lately. I feel like you’re slipping away Hermione!’ Harry added, pecking my cheek.

I smiled and silently agreed. We went to our detention, which was just boring and supervised. Malfoy and I talked a bit to get over the boredom, and then were let out. ‘You are allowed to go to Hogsmeade this Saturday,’ McGonagall had told us both. YES!! ‘But you must arrive back at eight for detention.’ She
must really hate us.

I went to dinner and sat beside Carly.

Ron and Harry were off in their own conversation with Seamus and Dean.
I started eating my steak, when Carly sighed heavily and put down her drink.

‘What it is it?’ I asked her, but continued eating.

‘Hermione, I like someone!’ She said.

‘Really?’ I said with a laugh.

She rolled her eyes and laughed. ‘No, I really like them! Not only the looks. Like, you know how Draco’s hot and everything, but I’m not really into his personality.’ She said tucking her smooth blonde hair behind her ear.

‘Wow, Carly Riverson, caring about a guys personality!’ I said with a grin.

‘I know!’ She said with a sigh. ‘So I met this guy, and he’s so hot, and at the same time, has the best personality! He’s so sweet, caring, and so unbelievably hot!’ Carly sighed, her blue eyes sparkling as she looked up into space.

Now I was curious. Who is this guy, this one guy, Carly could actually like?

‘Well, who is he?’
