i wanna cry.....why would she stay with Harry if she just pitties him? i have done that and learned from my mistakes....Hermione should do that too......i love Draco......

I made my way through the tall snow covered ground back to the school. My feet crunched sorrowfully in the snow.

I didn’t say a word to anyone as I walked into the noisy Common Room.

‘Hermione what happened?’ Carly asked rushing up to me.

I didn’t realize it, but I had tears rushing down my face. I wiped them away before she led me out of the Portrait hole, to an empty washroom, and I told her about what happened with Draco.

‘Were you going to break up with Harry before he got injured?’ Carly asked me.

I sighed. I was going to wasn’t I? But then I fell back in love with him… I think.

I nodded.

‘Well, I think you’re only going out with him out of pity, otherwise you would have been with Draco by now.’ She exclaimed.

‘But I can’t be with Draco!’ I said turning on the tap to wash my face. I looked terrible.

‘But Herms, Draco freaking loves you! Can you not tell by now? Guys aren’t usually like that to girls they just like.’

‘Well, now I have no chance with him, do I?’ I asked.

She didn’t say anything and I left the washroom after a while.

‘Hermione, I was just wondering, are you going to pick a guy soon?’ Ginny asked turning to me in the empty Common Room.

‘What?’ I asked her.

She walked around, the fire blazing angrily in her eyes, making her look very devilish what with all the red. ‘You can’t choose can you? I mean, can you not pick one guy, and let me have the other? I don’t even want to take your left overs, but Harry and Draco, if you haven’t noticed are two of the hottest guys at Hogwarts, and are both pining after you. So, you need to choose.’

I was surprised at what she was telling me. ‘But I already have, I’m with Harry.’ I told her clearly.

‘Final answer? I didn’t think so. So here’s the thing, if I were to date Malfoy, what would you do?’ She asked me stopping in front of where I was seated.

‘Nothing.’ I answered untruthfully.

She could tell. ‘You would hate me. More than you hate me now. And I’m only chasing after Harry now, imagine what would happen if I went out with Malfoy.’

‘I don’t hate you.’ I lied.

‘Oh yes you do. I’m sorry for being like this but I’ve had a crush on Harry for as long as I can remember. I tried dating other guys, but he’s always going to be the one I want, and you’re not even treating him the way he deserves to be treated.’

I gave her a warning look. She was really pushing it.

‘I mean, sure your pretty, but do you really think that’s all Harry wants? You practically cheat on him with Malfoy, you guys are almost boyfriend and girlfriend! You’re always flirting with Malfoy, while Harry has to remain loyal to you.’

‘You’re the one always flirting with my boyfriend Harry, so I wouldn’t be talking.’ I told her bitterly.

She rolled her eyes. ‘Yeah, because I love him, and I even tried to back off, but I love him too much.’

‘I think you’re a bit of stalker or something.’ I said to her shaking my head.

‘I am not.’ She walked up to me, making me back up into the wall. ‘You better give up Harry, otherwise, I’ll go for Draco.’

Many days passed, and I didn’t talk to Draco. I hated not talking to him, all he did was glance at me like I was just another person whenever we passed in the corridors. Ignoring me and avoiding me as much as possible. And I really didn’t like how that felt. Valentine’s was nearing already, and Harry and I planned to go to Hogsmeade for the day together.

Ginny’s little speech didn’t come true, I wasn’t giving up Harry, but she didn’t seem to be going after Draco. Or so I thought.

‘We have Potions with Slytherin.’ Carly said and I recalled our schedule. I was really out of it these days, losing my head.

We made our way to the dungeons, and I entered. Ginny Weasly was in our class, standing right by Malfoy who looked so very cocky and arrogant…but still he managed to look amazing and made my heart beat rapidly.

‘What’s she doing in here?’ Carly asked loudly so Ginny could hear.

Ginny smiled at us and leaned over Malfoy’s desk to whisper something.

He looked at us and laughed.

‘I think my heart just broke a bit.’ I told Carly sadly and we sat down.

‘Oh what a little witch.’ Carly glared at Ginny but didn’t seem to care much of her presence.

Professor Snape strolled in and Ginny immediately left after giving Malfoy a kiss on the cheek. She was actually going through with her threat.

I did tell Carly about it, and she just gave me a confident smile. ‘Ron would never allow his baby sister to date a Malfoy.’

I smiled and agreed feeling a bit happier. Yet I was somewhat let down that he had moved on so quickly. But who was I to talk?

I decided that if Malfoy could get over me so fast, I could do the same. The weather was in a way getting warmer, not above 0, but I didn’t need to wear a scarf as Harry and I walked into Hogsmeade.
It was Valentines day, sunny, cool and the but snow still covered the ground.

‘I’m so happy to be out of the Hospital wing!’ Harry exclaimed sighing deeply.

I smiled happily at him. He looked much better, unlike a few days ago when he was pale, with tired looking eyes. He seemed to be full of excitement now.

‘You know, Travis offered a double date with him and Carly. I declined though, I haven’t really had much time alone with you. And anyways, it’s Valentines day, we should be doing love type of things right?’ He asked with a silly grin.

I agreed with a laugh. I didn’t realize how far I had become with him and Ron and I really missed their friendship.

We entered Madam Puddifoots and Harry breathed in deeply. It smelled of chocolate, coffee and cakes. Sweet and warm. I had never actually been in here before so it was quite pleasant, except for the stuffiness since it was Valentines.

‘Oh, this brings back memories of Cho.’ Harry said with a laugh and we took our seats and ordered.

‘Maybe this time you won’t make a fool of yourself?’ I asked with a grin.

‘I hope not. Well, at least you don’t cry like a bloody broken hose!’ He said taking his coffee.

‘Hey that’s not nice!’ I punched him lightly on the arm.

The table was short, so there was room to lean over and make out if you wanted to.

Harry shrugged and added some sugar to his coffee.

‘Hermione, do you know what happened in Cuba?’ He suddenly asked looking up.

He made me nervous. Oh of course, he meant with him and the death eaters. I felt stupid, I felt guilty thinking about Draco. My stomach churned as I thought about Draco. Stupid, handsome, funny, and actually gentlemanly Draco.

I sighed and my eyes got watery.

‘Oh no, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to upset you Hermione. Don’t cry please.’ Harry begged.

I laughed, he didn’t know I wanted to cry about Draco, not the incident.

‘I’m sorry! I don’t mean to be like a, what was it, a broken hose or whatever!’ I decided to let him think that I was sad because of the incident.

He told me a long, long eventful story about the death eaters, and how he had to fight and blah, blah, blah.

I nodded and wasn’t paying much attention as I glanced at the door, where guess who entered?

‘What the bloody…’ Harry trailed off as he stared as well.

Draco waltzed in, with Ginny Weasly. They didn’t seem to see us in our secluded corner as they squeezed into a table by the window and ordered.

Harry looked at me shocked and then back at them.

I shrugged and stared.

‘Come on.’ Harry got up abruptly and walked over to them.

I groaned and got up to, not wanting to face two people I so disliked right now.

The pair stopped their conversation as they stared at us.

‘What do you want Potter, Granger?’ He asked coldly.

I can’t say my heart wasn’t stabbed at that. He used my last name, and so rudely. I wouldn’t let him see he affected me though.

‘Ginny, what are you doing with Malfoy?’ Harry asked.

I rolled my eyes and glanced out the window, taking my mind off of them. I could see the gaze of Draco on me in the window reflection. I liked the way he was staring at me, it made my jealousy almost fade. I turned back at him and he immediately shifted his gaze.

‘I’m just on a date with Draco here.’ Ginny said in a fake syrupy tone.

Harry shook his head. ‘Are you bloody kidding?’

I could swear Ginny was enjoying this, the fact that Harry cared so much. But she thought he cared for the wrong reason. He was only protective of her since she was Ron’s little sister.

‘Why? Is there something wrong?’ Ginny asked.

Harry slammed his hand on the table. ‘It’s MALFOY.’ He pointed clearly at Draco who looked simply amused.

‘I think we all noticed that.’ Draco said with a smirk.

‘Yes, and?’ Ginny asked taking off her coat to reveal a skimpy pink top.

It really didn’t look good on her however, and Harry didn’t notice her showy clothes at all. He grabbed her coat and took her arm. ‘You’re leaving.’

Ginny shrugged happily, probably pleased that she spoiled our date. She smiled at me and got up obediently.

Draco didn’t bother stopping her.

‘Draco, don’t you care?’ Ginny asked glaring at me some more, as if it was my fault.

He looked at me quickly and then back at Ginny. It seemed to occur to him that he wanted to make me jealous.

‘Well, uh yeah. Potter let go of her, I’m on a date if you haven’t noticed.’ Draco said pulling Ginny back.

‘No.’ Harry kept a firm grip on her arm.

Ginny enjoyed being fought over by the two guys. And well, I didn’t really care right now who won. It wasn’t my problem that she had to go through all the trouble coming up just to make me mad.

As the boys played tug-o-war, I decided there was no point in standing, so I took Ginny’s seat in the cushiony booth and helped myself to her untouched coffee.

I looked up and caught Draco staring at me, so he quickly averted his attention back to Ginny who was glaring so evilly at me. I smiled at her and opened a sugar packet.
'Oh I'm sorry, did you want this?' I asked.
‘Ughh!’ She yelled looking at me and stomped out of the place without her jacket.

‘What a freak…’ I mumbled as Harry chased after her. I wasn’t in the mood to follow them anyways so I stayed in the warm shop, sipping Ginny’s coffee.

Draco sighed and sat down in front of me, adding cream to his coffee.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

‘What?’ He asked stirring it. ‘Might as well get my money’s worth.’

I hid my smile behind the cup and finished drinking the warm coffee.

‘Aren’t you going to follow your girlfriend?’ I asked.

He shook his head and ran his fingers through his blond hair messily. He always did that, and it always made me swoon. ‘She’s not my girlfriend. And I don’t really care about Weaslys.’

I smiled slightly, feeling happy that he said that, but sort of offended since Ron was also a Weasly.

We left together after a surprisingly un-awkward conversation. He ordered some delicious, expensive cakes and we ate them. It hit me how much I missed him, how stupid I was to not realize how right he was for me.

Carly met me outside of the shop and Draco left to find Crabbe and Goyle.

‘What was that?’ She asked me.

I shrugged. ‘I miss him.’ I whined and kicked some snow.

She smiled at me. ‘You guys are too cute. You know he actually told Travis he misses you too?’

I turned to her quickly.

She nodded. ‘Well, not in those exact words, but Travis said he could sense it.’ She shrugged.

I rolled my eyes. ‘Where is Travis anyways?’

‘Oh, he said he had to buy something from Honeydukes. Probably for me!’ She said with a grin. ‘What about Harry?’

‘He caught Ginny with Malfoy, so he chased her out of the shop yelling his head off, ditching me.’ I sighed.

‘Aw, well at least you got to spend some time with Draco right?’

‘I guess.’
