She sat there perfectly still, not moving an inch. We were almost having a staring contest. Or so it seemed, seeing as either of us took our eyes off the other. We had grown apart. I’m not even sure how it happened. We had fallen so deeply in love; seven whole years of wanting each other. I had to even kill off my own father just to be with her! And this is how she repaid me!??

“How-how could you do this to me, Hermione?,” I asked, looking deep into her eyes.

I know I looked horrible. My hair was untidy and my eyes bloodshot from the many tears I had cried over her. I hadn’t eaten in days, and I was still wearing the clothes I was wearing when I caught her kissing the Weasley. She cheated on me.

It burned like a raging fire in a wheat field- spreading quickly to each part of my body as to where I was ready to explode with anger. But I kept my cool. Malfoys don’t make a fool of themselves in front of others.

“I’m sorry, Draco. I just….I’ve always thought there was something between me and Ronald, so I wanted to see. I never meant to hurt you,” Hermione cried.

“Liar. Everyone says that. If you really loved me, you wouldn’t have ever even thought of doing something as awful…as cruel as that,” I replied. “You are just like everyone else in my life, Hermione. You like to hurt me. I honestly thought you’d be different.”

Hermione rung her hands in her lap, trying her best not to drop her gaze from my grey eyes.

“Draco, we’ve grown apart. We aren’t as close as we used to be! My job, my friends have pulled us away from each other! Why can’t you understand that maybe we shouldn’t be together!?? Maybe we should see other people! We are so different…we don’t even belong in the same world!,” Hermione pleaded.

“I have enough money as to where you would never have to work again,” I replied. “And for your friends…well, you could live without them…”

“You’re wrong. Harry and Ron are my everything,” Hermione said simply.

“So I guess I’m not,” I said.

“No I never said that,” Hermione said. “Draco…we’ve been apart for almost a month, and we began to grow apart long after that. Why can’t we just call it quits? I honestly don’t think this could ever work…”

“That’s what you meant, Hermione. Everyone always thought you and that stupid Weasley would end up together…and you wanted to prove them wrong. What ever happened to that?,” I asked.

“I just-”

“You’re never satisfied with what you have, Hermione. You always think there is something better. You always want what you can’t have,” I said.

“That’s a lie,” she choked.

“Is it? Think about it, Hermione…,” I said.

I pressed a button on the thing Hermione called an iPod docking system, and a song I quite frequently found myself listening to began to play.

Hermione sat statue-still the whole song. When it ended, I turned it off and looked her directly in the eyes.

Silent tears fell down her cheeks and she shook her head. She stood up, turned on her heel, and apparated away to God knows where.

I looked down at my hands, and then over to my desk. A picture of us that was taken in seventh year was framed and propped up, us smiling and holding each other. We both looked so happy, so full of love.Then there was a picture taken of us about a month ago. I held it in my hand, and in it, we both looked broken and torn apart. The light of happiness no longer rested on either of our faces, making it quite clear that the love was gone. But I still felt horrible. She had become so dear to me. We did so much, changed so many things, just to be together. And now I felt as if it was all for nothing.

“So tell me Hermione…,” I whispered, a single tear falling down my cheek, landing like a puddle on the picture I held. “Please…just Say I Ain’t Right…”

that...was sad. i am a big dramione shipper...and you broke them apart! *sticks tongue out* lol...no i liked it! it was pretty good!

Tara - That was toooooo sad! Very well written and very believable, but I felt so bad for poor Draco! Another excellent FF!

Tara....that was terribly depressing and I'll tell you why. Because I just broke up with my boyfriend because we didn't see each other enough and we were growing apart. I'm crying now. Please write another, your so good at these!
