Hermione's eyes opened with a groan. She looked all around. Her eyes first landed on...Harry.

"Harry? Is that you baby?"

"Oh dear God....Hermione!" Harry took Hermione into his arms, tears falling fast. Ginny looked uncomfortable. "How are you sweetheart?"

"Sore all over...I feel like I got hit by a truck...what are you doing here?" She noticed Draco. Draco cleared his throat.

"I...I...I'm the one who helped take care of you Hermione." Draco said slowly. Hermione gave him a funny look.

"What? But I'm fine! Harry, what's he talking about?"

"Hermione, we need to talk about a few things." Ginny and Draco stood up.

"We'd better go and wait outside." Ginny said, and she and Draco left.

"Now...what's going on Harry? I feel as though...I lost time. Like jet-lag. What's been happening?"

"Hermione, you've had a bad case of amneisa for the past two months. You hit your head in a duel with Malfoy and I. Then Malfoy was taking care of you. I had extra classes, and I couldn't care for you. So Malfoy did."

"Ok..."

"Then you hit your head again, Hagrid I think was bringing in stuff. and you got back some of your memory, but not all of it. You and Malfoy...started going out, and seeing each other."

"Harry...I think I remember this...but tell me...what were you doing?" Hermione asked, slightly confused, trying hard to remember.

"I...I was seeing Ginny."

"You...cheated on me?" Hermione stared at Harry in disbelief.

"Hermione...you were seeing Malfoy. We cheated on each other." Harry reasoned, close to tears.

"So...Harry, how do you feel about me right now?" Hermione asked him.

"Hermione..." Harry started to say, but Hermione held up her hand.

"Harry, I think we lost it."

"Lost what?"

"You know what. The spark, the drive. Think about it. I dated Malfoy, cheated on you. You dated Ginny, cheated on me. Both of us were happy without the other, and we were happy with our new partners."

"But I still love you Hermione." Harry tried to convince her, all thoughts of Ginny forgotten. "We can't be lost...not after everything we went through."

"What Malfoy and I went through. You were hanging out with Ginny, remember?"

"That doesn't mean I suffered!" Harry yelled. "I would kill for you Hermione! Just seeing him with you put me in defense mode!"

"Harry, I don't blame you for anything." Hermione said calmly. "You were alone, and Ginny was there to care for you and treat you right. I would have done the same thing. Do you believe me?"

"Yes." Harry hung his head in defeat. "So...what do we do now?"

"I suppose," Hermione said slowly, shakily, "That we have to go our....our seperate ways." She broke down and wept. Harry held her.

"I love you Harry."

"I love you too, but you're right. This is the way to go. If we stayed together, we'd be miserable, Ginny would be inconsolable, and Malfoy...Draco...would be devestated."

"Then this is good-bye?" Hermione looked up from Harry's chest, tears in her eyes.

"Not as friends. Just as boyfriend and girlfriend." Harry assured her, tears falling thick and fast.

"Good." Hermione held him as well, sharing their last moment together as a couple.

Alright, two more chapters left people!

Ginny's heart broke when she saw Harry hug Hermione. Soon after they began talking Ginny couldn't stand to watch. She went outside the door with Draco.

As soon as they walked out Ginny slid down the wall on to the floor. She buried her face in her knees. Hoc could this be happening?

Will he choose me over Hermione? Ginny laughed humourlessly as though the idea was the most impossible thing in the world.

Grief filled her up. She had lost Harry. The one guy she actually loved with her whole heart.

It started out as a school girl crush but blossomed throught the years. Now it wasn't her controlling it. She sighed.

What do I do if-when he chooses Hermione? Do I try to get him back? No, I couldn't. I give up.

Now Ginny started to think about Hermione's situation. What about Malfoy? Would she just leave him. After all they've been through?

She looked over at Malfoy, he was leaning against the opposite wall. His arms crossed, his expression calm, too calm, almost stoic. For the first time Ginny felt sorry for him.

Draco walked out of the room. He looked calm on the outside but in his head, his life was falling down around him.

Everything was perfect and within minutes it had all came crashing down. Funny, what life can do to a person.

It can build them up, make them feel on top of the world, then tear their hearts out with full malice.

Draco closed his eyes, he couldn't take this. He had nothing now. Hermione was everything and now she was gone.

He heaved a great sigh, but deep inside him there was a spark of hope, that maybe she would choose him over Potter.

Hermione and Harry let go of each other. They both had sad smiles on their faces.

"I guess we better go, they're waiting for us." Harry whispered.

Hermione nodded in agreement. She wanted to talk to Draco, to see what he was really like.

Harry suddenly wanted to see Giny. He wanted to apologize for everything. He lifted his hand and helped Hermione out of her bed.

With one last hug, they headed out the door.

Draco watched Hermione and Harry come out of the room. To his immediate relief, he saw they weren't holding hands. Hermione went to Draco.

"Draco...can we talk?"

"Of course Hermione." The two of them went off on their own. Hermione took Draco out into the corridor. "Something on your mind?"

"Yes...you. Draco...I remember everything you did for me. And it suprised me that you would help...a mudblood like me."

Hermione, I-" Hermione raised her hand.

"Please let me finish. Draco...I'm touched by what you did. I also....was made aware of what Harry and Ginny mean to each other. So Harry and I are breaking up."

Draco yelled with joy inside, but was tender in the outside. "Oh Hermione, I am sorry. Is there anything I can do?"

"Well, actually yes. You can say yes to the question I'm about to ask you."

Harry went over to Ginny.

"We...didn't make it."

"Oh Harry..." Ginny took him in her arms. Harry held her tightly. "I'm so sorry."

"There was nothing we could have done. We...what we had....it was gone. Just like that. In two months, a lasting relationship was destroyed."

"Reminds me of something." Ginny muttered to herself, too low for Harry to hear. Harry pulled away.

"But...I realized something."

"Yes?"

"I realized...that Hermione and I were kidding ourselves. We were just too good of friends to try and date each other...do you understand Gin?"

"Yes I do Harry." Ginny assured him.

"Well...I now know that it's for the best if we break up...but, Ginny?"

"Yes Harry?"

"Will you officially get back together with me?"

"Oh Harry!" Ginny squealed and leapt into his arms. Harry kissed her and held her tightly.

"Ginny...it's going to be hard being my girlfriend. Lot's of danger and long weeks of being alone...can you handle it?"

"Harry...I can handle anything after this year!" She kissed him.

Draco...knowing that we've hated each other since the day we laid eyes on each other...knowing that the whole school knows us as bitter enemies...will you risk your social status to be my boyfriend?" Hermione asked Draco shyly.

"Hermione....I will do anything you ask of me." Draco hugged her. "I love you."

"And I love you. And I never want us to be seperated again." Hermione said softly into his ear, then kissed him.
