Letters from no-one

Luna walked into the owlery nervously, the note folded carefully in her hand.
She looked around the owlery for Amber. She had Amber when she was in her fourth year and hadn't seen her for years. She had wondered what had happened to Amber. Maybe she was still in here.
"Amber!" she called out into the tower.
Down swooped a small brown owl with bright amber coloured eyes and perched on her shoulder.
Luna stroked the owl softly.
"Have you missed me?" she asked it softly. It hooted in reply. Amber was a very gentle owl and had always treated Luna nicely, it surprised her how much she realised she missed Amber.
"Well don't worry. Luna is out of prison... for now." she whispered. "I have a note for you to take."

Amber hooted excitedly and flew of Luna’s arm high into the tower and back down to her. Luna looked down at the note she held in her hand that she had written in the Slytherin common room.

I have important information pertaining to the case of the ex-Azkaban prisoner. Luna Moore. Please reply to this owl if you wish to learn more.

"Take this to the Auror office in the ministry then wait until someone replies to it. Then I want you to fly back down to the house then back up to here. Just incase you're being followed."
She tied the note to the owl's leg and watched as the owl flew away into the sky.

Luna walked into the Slytherin common room and threw herself into the nearest chair she could find. She couldn't get her mind away from the letter she had sent. She was due a reply any day.
Luna had no idea what they would say. They could take the note seriously or they could simply laugh it off, it was their choice, and Luna was giving them this one chance to discover the truth. If they didn’t take it up then it was their fault, not hers.

She jumped when there was a loud tapping sound on the window.
"Amber!" she exclaimed leaping out of her seat and running over to the window.
She opened it and a gust of wind blew through the open window as Amber flew in. Amber hooted softly and dropped a letter onto Luna's head. She smiled as the owl flapped around outside the window waiting for Luna.

Luna walked back to her seat and opened the letter slowly. There was no address on it as she ripped open the envelope.
Glancing around the common room to check it was empty she unfolded the letter and read it.

Dear Anonymous person,

we are interested in any information you can give us about anything that may concern the wizarding world. If you give us your name and address we can contact you more directly.

Luna's stomach lurched as she read Corona's name, she hadn't seen her for a long time. She sighed and took out her quill and a spare sheet of parchment.

I am afraid that it is not possible for me to tell you who I am but I assure you I have authentic information about Luna Moore. She hid with a boy in Sweden for the ten months between her disappearance and her arrest.

She scribbled out her note, making sure that her handwriting was different from what it usually was. Walking over to the window where Amber was still fluttering around waiting for her she pulled Amber down and tied the note to her leg.
“Same as last time, okay?”
The owl hooted in reply and flew out into the night sky.

Ryan

It was cold for Luna as she stood in the owlery. There were no windows as the owls needed to get in and out easy so a cold wind swept through the tall tower, chilling Luna. The cold didn’t bother her though; she had experienced worse kinds of cold than the one on the outside.

She was waiting for Amber to come back but there was no sign. She had been gone for 3 days and she was due back soon. Luna was agitated and nervous again. Whenever she sent off a letter to the ministry it would calm her down for a few hours. It was an inexplicable kind of high. She could laugh, smile and have fun until after a few hours her normal, paranoid, jumpy self took over.

She was nervous as she waited for Amber. Then she saw an owl swooping through the sky. It must be Amber. Luna hurried over to the nearest ‘window’ and watched as the owl came closer.
Disappointment flooded through her as she realised it was not Amber, but someone else’s owl.

She almost jumped out of her skin when the door opened noiselessly and Cora walked into the room. Luna was about to speak to her but as the girl approached the owl and took its contents, Luna noticed tears in Cora’s eyes and the word Azkaban shone from the paper like an alarm bell ringing. Cora ran out of the owlery and Luna hurried to follow her.

Cora had lead her into the Slytherin girls’ dormitories but she had slipped unseen into a dark corner where Luna only just managed to spot her.
She took up the space of floor next to her and tried to comfort Cora.
"Cora, don't cry." she said. She knew it was stupid to say, she herself would never cry, but asking others not to be ridiculous.

Cora looked up and brushed her tears away. "I'm...fine!"
Luna shook her head. "Cora, you obviously aren't okay." She started to deduce things, "I saw up in the owlery and I saw a newspaper article with Azkaban on it, now I see you sat up here crying and insisting everything is okay." Then it clicked. What Cora had first told her when they met. "Cora...is..." she wasn’t sure of how to ask.”Is...Ryan out?"

Cora looked up at Luna with her big, blue eyes and nodded. "Yes. He escaped yesterday night."
She pushed the article into Luna's hands.
"But...he's really stupid. He'll be caught soon...I hope. He's no danger to me here but if I go home..." Cora gulped.

Luna felt a strange drifting sensation as she tried to read the article that Cora had given her.

She was running across rocky landscape. She could feel the salt air whipping her face. Looking back behind her she saw the towering building of Azkaban Fortress looming behind her. She ran. She was free! FREE! Reaching the waters edge she felt the hot point of a wand digging into her neck. Then a second and a third.

Luna blinked and rubbed her head. Had she just hallucinated? She tried to shrug it off but she couldn’t stop thinking that the last time she had done that was in her isolation cell in Azkaban.

She remembered that she was trying to comfort Cora and looked down at the article. She felt a flicker of admiration for Ryan. He had succeeded where she had first failed, but the feeling passed and she was looking back at Cora.
"You'll be fine, they'll catch him." she paused. "They caught me."

Cora nodded. "I suppose. He's quite dim....but skilled. If you know what I mean."
She smiled slightly.
"Thanks Luna."
Luna shook her head, "No its okay." she said half smiling. "Remember you can always talk to me. Nothing you can tell me is going to shock me." she smiled.
"Do you know how he escaped?" she asked curiously. If she could find out how he managed to do it then it could help her if the worst happened. Maybe he just wasn’t scared to blast himself into the unknown.

Cora shook her head. "No idea. This is all I know." She said, tapping the newspaper cutting.
"I wish I knew HOW he escaped. I mean, he's got pretty nifty wand work but ho would that help him escape AZKABAN?!" She sighed and leant back against the wall.
"I don't get it...."

Luna was slightly crestfallen but she hid it as continued to talk to Cora.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "I tried to escape..." she said slowly. “I managed to distract the dementors and made a run for it."
Luna started to shake a little, "I was out! I was free! I stood on the rocks by the sea I could have gone but the next thing I knew was I was being marched back to Azkaban by 3 wizards with wands digging into my neck."

She could see it in her eyes. She had relived that moment a million times before and she knew she could never forget it.
"Then I did something stupid... I tried to run away from them. They shot me down and I had to be dragged back into Azkaban." she shuddered slightly, wondering why she was explaining all this. "It was horrible. They'll find him, don't worry." she was angry. Why should someone else have managed to make it out to freedom and she hadn't? It wasn’t fair.

Cora bit her lip and listened to Luna's tragic story. As it came to an end, she placed her hand on Luna's knee.
"That's....horrible." She shuddered. "You were innocent and you got dragged back in. whereas Ryan is GUILTY and he's escaped. That's not fair. Not fair at all."
Looking at Luna with a deep, meaningful look on her face, Cora narrowed her eyes.
"I'll get him. He won’t kill me. He WON'T!" Her eyes darkened and although she had said this many times, this time, she truly meant it. She meant it for her father, for her sister Alexa, for Luna...and for her.

Lakeside Lunatics

Luna was walking around the lake, just enjoying the scenery.
She had decided for the first time since she had gotten back to Hogwarts to go have a walk around the lake. She used to do it a lot. Often watching the groups of kids laughing and smiling in their own little cliques while she would wait and hope somebody would talk to her.
She saw Eliza shouting at herself. She tried to put her own demons aside to help her. She knew that Eliza needed help from the last time they had met and she couldn’t just stand there and moan over her own problems.
She ran over to Eliza and stood a little back from her in case she lashed out.
"Eliza... Are you okay?"

Eliza looked up at Luna, the pupil in her eyes were shrinking as she was losing insanity "Y-yeah, j-just a h-headache.”
Luna looked at Eliza sceptically as she said she just had a headache, she could tell she was lying. "Eliza, you can tell me what’s wrong you know." she said trying to comfort her. "I'll tell you what happened to me. I..."
“NO!S-she's N-nice! I-I Can't!" Eliza yelled ,throwing her wand away out onto the grass by the lake.
Luna watched stunned as Eliza yelled and threw her wand away. "What’s wrong?" demanded Luna. She could help, she knew it. Eliza was hearing voices from the way she was speaking and they were telling her to kill someone. Kill Luna?

"They won't stop! They're telling me to kill! To Kill you and Natalie and the Professors! I want them to leave me alone but they keep telling me to Kill! I CAN'T let myself hurt a student! My mother would be Proud! I can't let my family win! I CAN'T" she yelled, letting everyone hear. She pulled her knees up, hugged them and rested her chin up on her knees. "I'm crazy!"

Before Luna could reply to Eliza or even think of a reply one of the groundskeepers Trent Hirty hurried over to the screaming Eliza.
"Eliza! Keep your voice down and stop this at once!" He was getting very stern. "Anymore and I am going to have to book us a detention!"
Luna looked up at the professor. "Please, don't. I can help her. She is upset and I think I can help her." she said not mentioning why she could help her and why she understood so much.

She sat down next to Eliza who had curled into a ball and put her arm around her.
"Listen, Eliza. I was going to tell you before in the corridor, but I couldn’t. I have spent the last year in Azkaban and I can help you. I've been through more than you would ever think possible, just let me help you." she said patting Eliza on the shoulder, "You are not crazy, things can be sorted out, people can help you. I can help you. You’re not alone.”

Eliza looked Luna as she said Azkaban "Nat's father has escaped from there." she said simply, before biting her lip "People? People like him!" she pointed to Trent "He's just going to throw me into Detention and then I'll end up…” she shook and Luna understood what she meant. She would end up a murderer, a killer. Luna knew.

The professor moved in trying to sort out Eliza. "Stand back Luna, that includes everyone else." He stepped forward and kneeled down to Eliza's level, "What on Merlin’s Earth is going on Eliza? This is very unlike you to be causing such havoc! You helped me so well in the orchard"
Luna looked up at the professor, “Please, Sir. I can help her.” She said with her arm around Eliza, “Listen, Eliza. We can get you to the hospital wing, the nurse can check you out and when you’re ready you can tell me what’s happened." she said calmly. "You are not going crazy, Eliza. Trust me." She whispered sweet soft words to Eliza as she tried to help her block out the shouting of the professor, the voices of children trying to get a look at the crazy person, the voices in her head.

Trent spoke impatiently, he was not used to dealing with such insistent people and not to mention crazy people. "Luna, please get out of the way or I am going to have to deduct points." Trent put his arm under Eliza's and lifted her up, "Come Eliza, we shall go to the Headmistress' and we can talk this through and see what we can do to help you, okay?”
Eliza looked at Trent, her eyes filling with tears as she began to rock to and fro "I-I don't know, it started yesterday. I just wanted to hurt someone, crucio someone and now..."she closed her eyes and Eliza's hands clenched into fists as Luna began to talk to Trent "I've already been sent to the headmistresses but nothing happened. What can the nurse do but bring me to St Mungos?" she muttered, opening her Blood Red eyes which were darkening with fear and anger.

Luna stepped back away from Eliza, she didn’t want to lose any points and she knew that the headmistress would be able to help... hopefully. "Sorry professor, I just... I can help her." She sighed.
"Eliza, remember, I'm always here." she said as she stood with everyone else. "You will be okay. Trust me."
"Come on Eliza, to the Headmistress' and we will sort something out for you," he said helping her walk to the castle.

Eliza left without any more commotion but Luna was worried. Eliza really needed her help and deciding that this would be her last year and if she was going to do one thing that could change someone’s life for the better in her school life, or even in her whole life she could help Eliza. As Eliza was sat curled in a ball and Luna tried to comfort her, they connected.

Now I read that for myself,El really did lose it!!!!You edited stuff and added stuff in,did you?Some bits I don't remember writing or reading but annnnyyyywwwaaayyy!!!

I had a very weird dream,I just have to tell you, about Luna but instead of outside her house after her father's murder,she was in my school and I helped her run from the aurors before she got put in Azkaban!!

Totally crazy!!!

I think this is as far as I can get until Eliza is seen to in the hospital or Luna gets some RPing.

Draken

Sitting down on the grass by the lake Luna couldn’t keep her mind away from Eliza. The girl needed her help and Luna knew that she would have to give it. A sinking feeling grew in the pit of her stomach; the headmistress wouldn’t be able to help her much. Nobody in the school understood what Eliza was going through apart from Luna. She never thought that her time in Azkaban, going crazy, would ever be useful.

She had been sitting thinking about Eliza for a few minutes when the soft hooting of an owl pierced the air. Spinning around Luna saw Amber perched on a branch that hung low one of the trees shading the lake.

Tied around Amber’s leg was another note from the ministry and after untying it from her leg, Luna ripped it open and scanned over the contents.

We are very interested in what you have to say, we are currently trying to trace back Luna from when she left the ministry to Sweden. If you have any more information it could greatly help us in our investigations.

She let out a small chuckle as she pulled a piece of parchment and a quill out from her bag. It didn’t take her long to write the reply to their letter.

If Eliza had been taken to the hospital wing like Luna had suspected then she wouldn’t be able to talk to her. But she could contact her to talk later.
Snatching the quill up from the floor she scribbled furiously.

She pocketed the note and threw the rest of her stuff into her bag as she left for the hospital wing.

Luna stood outside the hospital wing waiting room and peered inside nervously.
Eliza was sat with Trent and the nurse was giving her a filthy look. Luna sighed, they simply did not understand.
She reached into her pocket and produced the note that she had wrote to Eliza.

Pondering for a moment on how best to get the note to her she folded it up into an aeroplane and taking one last look around the door into the waiting room she threw the plane. It hit Eliza's head then landed harmlessly on the floor.
Sure that she would get the note, Luna left for the lake.

The nurse turned away from the patient she was working on and walked over to the note and picked it up. She took her wand and lit it on fire and it quickly burned away.
Eliza had gone to pick up the note but before she was anywhere near the nurse had already disintegrated it. She looked on it sadly as the paper curled away into ashes.

Counsellor Luna

Luna had returned to the lake as she waited for Eliza. She hadn’t seen the note burn and was waiting for Eliza to appear. She was annoyed; the nurse looked like she had been ignoring Eliza. There was supposed to be tolerance in the world for people who need it but from the actions of the adults around her they didn’t have any tolerance for anyone different.

She was lost in her thoughts when she heard a voice ripple across the lake.
"Yes, I'm leaving. I'm going to leave Hogwarts, train in the Dark Arts and then I'll be able to kill my father."
Luna jumped up. The voice was the one of Natalie Lestrange, Eliza’s cousin.
What was Natalie thinking? She hurried over, she was unsure of how to approach her. Should she be aggressive or passive? Luna simply didn’t know. Settling on the method she was most used to she stormed over to Natalie.
"Did I just hear what I thought I did?" she asked, her voice slightly diplomatic with an undercurrent of accusation.

Natalie turned to Luna, raising an eyebrow. "Yes, you heard right! He's evil, Luna! He's after me, Eliza, everyone! He's here! In the forbidden forest! He wants to kill me, I know it! I want to be the one to kill him first!" she whispered, "He's killed too many, already."

Luna shook her head. "He may want to kill you Natalie but please." she was almost begging, "You don't want to be so drastic! You don't want to end up in Azkaban." She said there would be tears in her eyes if she could cry. She wouldn’t let anyone do what she had been accused of. Nobody should experience what she had.

Natalie shook her head at Luna, stubbornly. "My mind is made up! It has been for around a year now. It has to end with me killing him or him killing me. I have to do this, Luna. Try and understand that! I have a history with him, I MUST do this.”
She looked at Luna, her eyes begging for her to try and understand

Luna sighed, "It wont do any good, you might as well be dead if you are in Azkaban." she said shivering. "Is that the life you want? If you kill him you'll be sent to Azkaban and you might as well be dead in there. Trust me, I know." she said her voice was barely a whisper. "Just try to hold it out."
Natalie had read about Luna in the papers and knew about Luna’s sentencing to Azkaban. They had passed each other before and had a little conversation but apart from their first ever talk, when Natalie identified Luna as ‘the murderer in the paper’ they hadn’t mentioned Azkaban.

Natalie shook her head, "They won't put me in Azkaban. If they find me, I'll say I was defending my self, I probably will be as my father is a vile, cruel person. But, I plan to flee after ridding the world of my father, I won't see anyone ever again, but it'll be worth it if it means he's gone from our world!”

"They wont believe you! No matter how innocent you act, no matter how much you plead that it was self defence they will still get you for it." she spoke quickly, "The world may be rid of him, but they will be rid of you too. Do you really want that?" Luna knew that Natalie’s father was evil but she would not allow anyone to experience what she had because of the cruelty of someone who should look after and care for their child. Even if the man deserved it, Natalie didn’t.

Natalie shook her head, "My father has escaped from Azkaban, himself. They'll be glad to be rid of him, they know what he's like! The aurors are after him now." Natalie shrugged, "If it means that the world is rid of my father, then ridding my self is worth it."
Luna shook her head. "No it isn't. If you leave and are never seen again then you might as well have been killed by him to everyone else. There are other ways around things than murder." she said simply slightly baffled that she was having this conversation. Had being in Azkaban made her a counsellor? She seemed to feel like she was.

Natalie shook her head, "At least then he won't be here to hurt someone else. He's escaped Azkaban once, who's to say he won't do it again? He has to be stopped, Luna. And I want and must be the one to stop him!" she said, in a very independent and stubborn tone.
"They can stop him breaking out." she whispered dramatically. "They stopped me. If they catch him and put him in an isolation cell... there is no way he can get out." she shook with the memories. "But you don’t have to give up your life to him."

Natalie sighed, "He'd find a way. I know he would. He's dangerous. I feel that I need to do this. It's important for me to kill him! I owe it to the world, but also, to my self." she crossed her arms, sighing again, "It is hard, yes it is. But I have to do something and I NEED to leave Hogwarts for now. I'm scared my father will jump out at any corner. I have no where to go but my Aunt Lydia's house in Knockturn Alley. She'll teach me more than I could hope for, she's extremely talented within the Dark Arts."

Luna shook her head. "Well its your choice. But I just want you to know what you are letting yourself into. Murder will get you a life sentence. You don't want that." she said. She had become distracted by Eliza and really wanted to talk to her about the voices she had been hearing, she could help her.
Natalie nodded, "I know what I'm risking, but I really need to do this." she smiled slightly, "Thank you, though. I appreciate it."
Luna sighed and gave a small smile. "Just remember me when you're in a cell in Azkaban."
Frowning she wondered how she could make a joke about Azkaban but she tried to shake it off as her post-letter giddiness
Natalie shrugged, "I won't BE in Azkaban, Luna."
Luna gave a shrug of her shoulders. "Maybe not, but that is what I thought before I was taken."

Natalie and Luna both turned around in time to see Eliza walking across the grass towards them glowing with happiness.

Eliza Reborn

Even Luna smiled as Eliza ran towards them. Her face full of happiness and an air of calm serenity that Luna had never felt around Eliza before.
Despite her grinning face, Eliza’s hair was slightly knotted though not to the extreme of Luna’s and there were a few small cuts fresh across her arms.
She reached Luna and Natalie and smiled warmly.
“Hey Luna, Hey Nat.”
Luna grinned but as she remembered what she wanted to talk to Eliza about, her face became more sombre and the smile faded. She abandoned her conversation with Natalie and turned to Eliza.
“Eliza, are you okay? What happened in the Hospital wing?”

"I'm fine, I just can't believe the nerve of Trent Hirty and the rudeness of the Headmistress." she shook her head and sat down.
Eliza looked at Natalie and back at Luna. She covered her arms as if she was trying to hide the cuts.
Luna nodded. "Ignorance is bliss." she said sitting closer to Eliza. "So what about the voices? Are you okay with them?" she asked delicately, she knew that it wouldn’t take much for them to flare up again

Eliza looked at Luna "The nurse gave me a potion to keep them quiet but I don't think it will last too long. I'm fine, I was starting to control them before the Nurse gave me it." she sighed "Trent told the Headmistress I was Insane and the Headmistress said I had two choices: Have the potion or go to St. Mungos. That’s what you call rude!"

Luna nodded. "That is rude, they should have more tolerance for people who might need their help." she said listening to Eliza tell her that they were going away. "Well listen, if you ever need my help. Ever. I will be over. I know what its like with the voices and I can help." she said. Her voice was sincerer than it had ever been since she had gotten out of Azkaban. She really wanted to help Eliza.
Eliza nodded "Thanks Luna. That means a lot. You were the only one I met who didn't call me crazy and I owe you. If anything happens between you and the ministry, I will help."

Luna felt her arm twitch slightly, "I know what it is like to go crazy Eliza. Something tells me underneath the craziness is someone calm. Whereas underneath my calmness is craziness." she said with a tiny smile.
"The arm always does that, you were right!" she giggled before listening to what Luna said "Calmness? Me?! Keep thinking that!" she said sarcastically.

Luna grinned. "Well it has since summer." she said referring to her time in Azkaban.
"You must be calmer than me." she said her smile fading. "I had the worst time ever in Azkaban, unthinkable. You have got to be saner than I am after what happened." she said her voice was starting to shake a little and her arm twitched again.

Eliza looked at Luna worriedly as her voice began to shake "Lun, you okay?" She gave Luna a nervous look as Luna spoke about Azkaban. "I've never been in there but it really doesn't sound like a picnic." she mumbled, looking at Luna carefully .She spotted her hand twitch and raised an eyebrow as if to say 'if that’s what Azkaban does to you, thank god I haven't went there'
Luna nodded, her head was jerking slightly as she did as though the twitch had moved from her arm to her neck.
"I'm fine." she said not certain if it was totally true. She hadn’t twitched a lot for a while and she had just sent a letter which should have made her happy.
"You don't want to go there Eliza. Ever. It isn't a place for older people never mind younger ones." her voice was still shaky.

Eliza opened her mouth to reply but she was cut short from a scream that echoed around the lake. Luna saw Sarah and another girl in the distance both on the floor. Jumping up, she left Eliza and ran off towards them. Thoughts sped through her mind. Were they okay? Who did it? What did it?
When she reached them Luna saw a younger Gryffindor girl lay across the floor and Sarah sat smiling at her.
”What have you done?” Luna whispered.

Crucio

Luna looked down at the girl and instantly knew what Sarah had done. There were the unmistakable marks of the cruciatus curse. Luna repeated her question again to the silent Sarah "What have you done?" This time she screeched it at the top of her voice.
"I was defending myself she was going to throw things at me and she already threw a dung bomb at me" Sarah spoke simply and calmly as if it was the most natural thing.

Luna placed her hands on her hips teacher like. "And that defends using an unforgivable curse? A dung bomb? I can’t believe what I'm hearing."
she seriously couldn’t, of all the reasons to use an unforgivable, a dung bomb!
"A LIFE SENTENCE IN AZKABAN Sarah! A life sentence! That’s what you're getting. I told you that you wanted to stay away, keep your nose clean, but you didn’t listen!" she shook her head, still in disbelief. A dung bomb?

Luna then saw the divination professor, Professor Baylock walk over to them out of the corner of her eye. She had been in conversation with the Care of magical creatures professor, Professor Maline and the Hufflepuff prefect, Leo Moretti.
She flicked some of her lovely red hair out of her eyes and cleared her throat. “And what is the problem here?”
Luna turned to the professor, "Professor... she..." she couldn’t get the words to form, she was still in shock from what Sarah had just done.

Sarah started to cry, tears dripped down her face but Luna didn’t feel any sympathy for her. Luna turned on Sarah again. "What were you thinking??" she was almost screaming. "I told you! I warned you! Don’t mess in things that are that dangerous! They won’t pity you at the ministry Sarah, No matter how many tears you cry!!" Luna tried to calm down but she was too furious, Sarah was being stupid! She was more or less just sending herself to Azkaban.

Professor Baylock took advantage of Luna’s break in screaming "Yes, Miss Moore, I am quite aware of the situation...but do you not think that this matter could be handled with a little more discretion?"
Luna turned back to the professor. "Discretion? She just attacked a student with an unforgivable curse!!" she was livid, the attack from Sarah had turned her into a beast.

Sarah spoke, seemingly unfazed by the presence of a teacher she began to shout "You think I would notice that the ministry have already been on my back for days and plus my father has been watching me for days and I do not care if Azkaban is waiting for me I will just break out and hide for the rest of my life"

Luna frowned at Sarah, "You don't know what you're letting yourself in for. You can't just escape from Azkaban! I know that MYSELF! You don’t know what its like! You can’t just think," Luna put on a mocking tone, "Oh, I’m going to just break out and then have a nice normal life!"

Sarah screamed back "Yeah well I will find a way but to be honest like it matters! I think Azkaban will suit me nicely and anyway the further I will be away from my father the better"
Luna rubbed her head as she stood up from the floor, her head aching.
"No Sarah, he'll be with you. More than ever in Azkaban. Nobody suits that place Sarah, don’t you think I know what I'm talking about?"

"Yeah I do know what you’re talking about. I do not care about what happens to me I know I am in serious trouble do you see that is why the ministry have been keeping a close watch on me since I came back to Hogwarts!”
"You don’t know what it is like in Azkaban though do you? And I guarantee its going to be a life sentence Sarah. You should care, heck even I did." Luna broke off, what did Sarah mean, keeping a close watch? “What do you mean a close watch? I know what a close watch is Sarah and I haven’t seen one peep from a ministry official or anything like that!”
“In the holidays I was warned by the ministry not to use dark magic again or else I will be off to Azkaban because I cursed my own father with the cruciatus curse during an argument we had. They’ve been watching me ever since.”

Fed up with the argument, the professor scolded Luna “Control yourself, Miss Moore." Baylock’s green eyes flashed at the disrespectful tone Luna had adopted. "And as for what Sarah seems to have done, that matter is up to the headmistress and her Head of House to discuss now."
Luna span around, glaring at the professor. Her mind raced.
‘Attack her!’
‘Kill her!’
‘Attack her!’
‘NO!’
Luna had started to run forward at the professor but at the same time she stopped herself throwing herself at Professor Baylock and at the same time she was throwing herself. This conflict of motions caused Luna to Run forward a little then dive into the floor. She stood up but she had knocked into the professor enough to push her over.

Drowning

Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Professor Baylock lost her footing and fell backwards. Then came a shriek from Professor Maline as Baylock fell into her and a cry of “What the…” but the professors hadn’t finished. Luna gazed in horror as professor Maline fell backwards into Leo Moretti who tumbled into the murky water of the lake clutching a fistful of the care of magical creatures professor’s hair with him, dragging her in too.

Completely forgetting Sarah Luna was frozen as she watched the professor struggle to keep herself and Moretti above the water. They flailed about in the water as Professor Baylock jumped in to help, despite her poor swimming ability.
Before she even knew she was doing it, Luna dived into the cold water and reached them quickly. Luna was a very good swimmer in no matter what type of water, hot or cold.

Her swimming ability had come from the numerous times her father had thrown her into lakes or rivers. She had a choice, swim or drown and even though sometimes she had just wished she would drown her natural mechanism for swimming took over and she would be off swimming if she liked it or not. The temperature didn’t matter either. She had never had a hot bath either, outside of Hogwarts. Her father used to dunk her in ice baths and hold her under until she was blue so the cold water of the lake felt rather tepid for her.

Luna reached Maline and Moretti, she gave a tiny giggle as professor Baylock conjured a pink and orange, inflatable duck for Leo to hold on to. With the help of the duck, Leo and professor Maline were both hauled to shore where professor Baylock stood over professor Maline, checking if she was okay.

Luna glanced away from them to look at Sarah. She was stood in silence, ignoring the almost drowned professors and Luna’s cold, staring eyes. Suddenly Sarah screamed. “I just want to run away from here!”

She was torn between helping professor Maline and watching Sarah. She decided on the latter, walking towards the now screaming Sarah, keeping a careful eye on her.
"Sarah, just calm down. There is nowhere to run to. The ministry will find you."
“Yeah I know, but I don’t care.” Sarah said indignantly.

Luna took a quick glance behind her where Baylock was screaming “Ophelia, wake up!” In Maline’s ear and shaking her slightly.
Turning away from the professor’s she looked back at Sarah, she shook her head, the girl was so naive. "Sarah, they don’t need to see you to find you. If you run away, they will worsen the punishment ten fold."
Her hand itched towards her wand as Sarah became more panicked. Luna could tell she was going to run, and with everyone busy with professor Maline. Luna would be the only one to stop her.

Luna barely heard professor Baylock shouting at Maline to wake up as Sarah spoke with a new air of confidence that made Luna slightly uneasy.
"Like I care about it! I just want to go away from here and try not to be found because I feel as though life is just not important to me"
Luna's hand gripped her wand in her pocket. "Sarah, life is worth living. No matter how bad it is. Do you think I wanted to stay chained up in Azkaban? But if I hadn’t clung to life, I would have died and if I had died I would have never had a chance to be released and live again. Don’t be stupid Sarah." she said, her voice was calming, it almost made her believe her own words.

Then Luna heard what she wanted to. The mumbling of professor Maline and the sneezing professor Baylock helping her up. "Ophelia, you - Achoo! - goof!" Natasha said and sneezed, getting up, shivering in her heavy, wet robes. "We - achoo! - need to g - achooooo! - get out of he - ACHOO!"

Professor Maline cried in pain as she tried to get herself up from the floor and Luna felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. She had knocked professor Baylock. She would be responsible. Professor Maline was in pain and Luna was guilty.
Luna had barely noticed that Sarah had started to talk again. "Yeah well I do not care about living. I’d much rather be dead and not caring what happens to me than in Azkaban for life and just cling onto life or something like that" Sarah was mumbling.

"Well what if you die but if you had stayed alive you might have been released? Then what would happen?" she was unsure of her words herself as she spoke but she had to make Sarah sure of them.
Sarah was about to speak but Trent Hirty bustled over to them with towels for the professor and an evil Look for Luna. He turned to face Luna "Luna shut up about that please. It honestly isn’t smart to brag about being locked up there and this is no place to be talking about such places."

"Sir!" Luna pleaded, knowing that the professor didn’t like her from the encounter with Eliza. She was going to retort that she wasn’t bragging but knowing there was no use she decided to disclose what Sarah had done. "Sarah has done an unforgivable curse!" she tried to divert the conversation from her misdeeds to Sarah’s. Sarah’s were bigger and wouldn’t involve herself getting in trouble.
"Oh? Is that the case?" Trent asked rhetorically as he wrapped towels around the professors and started to guide them back towards the castle. "Well Sarah go to Professor Belles office immediately. I will meet you there in a moment and we can deal with your foolish actions then."

Luna sat down next to Sarah and put her arm around her. "Just hold it together Sarah, you can get through this." she said letting go of her wand and pulling a tissue out from her pocket.
She handed it to Sarah, trying to be kind but at the same time, unwittingly letting her guard down. Listening to the professor she stood up. "Come on Sarah, I'll take you." Sarah nodded and they both walked back to the castle dreading what would happen when they arrived at professor Belle's office.

Eliza reborn? I'm stil very puzzled about thta name but it does kinda suit!! I can't wait for the chapter with Eliza's multicoloured hair.....if you make a chapter up about that,that is!
