Home Again

Luna had been walking for half an hour when she saw what she wanted. Her father’s home.
The garden was large enough for her to slip in and wait, unnoticed.
She sat down on a large rock, hidden by the tall grasses that still hadn’t been cut since she left and thought.
In a few hours she would see her dad, maybe she could rescue Racheya? She would need to be rescued from him one day. Then Luna’s mind cast back to Rodinth. She felt bad that she had just left him like that with a note, she couldn’t face him to say goodbye. He had helped her so much and now she was simply abandoning him.

Luna forced herself to stop thinking about it. The more she thought, she more she wanted to go back home to Rodinth and his crazy father and kind mother. They were her family now and she missed them, but what had to be done. Had to be done.

She watched as the sun faded away to be replaced by the bright shining moon. The stars came out and smiled down on Luna as she waited on the rock for midnight.

Time passed quickly and before she knew it she was standing up and walking up to the front door. She hesitated for a moment, unsure if she wanted to see him again but she couldn’t stop herself knocking on the door.

The door swung open to reveal a man who Luna had not seen in almost a year.
“Hello Father.” She whispered.

***

The next morning Luna woke up to find people roaming around her fathers garden. She had slept at the bottom of their next door neighbours garden which was just as big as his.
Luna jumped up. There were policemen in the garden. It was something about the way they were looking around and just their general aura of magic that gave them away as they prowled the garden looking for something. Or someone.
Luna was curious about them, her disguise had worked before and she was pretty sure it would work again as she walked over to the nearest ministry wizard and tapped him on the shoulder.
“Excuse me, but what happened here?” she asked flashing her smile that had won people over in the ministry before.
He gave her a penetrating look before guiding her into the garden. “You're a witch right?” he asked matter of factly.
“Yeah.” Said Luna, “And you’re a wizard. How did you guess?”
The man simply shook his head, “Oh… something about you.” He said with a small wink.
He guided her over to where a group of wizards were stood by a fake muggle police car that they used when dealing with crimes around muggles.
“Hey guys.” He said walking closer to them with Luna. “This girl wants to know what’s going on.” He said with a slightly edgy tone to his voice.
Luna started to feel something was a little wrong. Why were they all acting like they were her best friends?
“Come in here and I’ll tell you what's happened.” Said the man, pointing towards the police car.
Luna shook her head and turned around.
“No, I don’t want to waste your time. I should go.” She started to walk away but the wizards circled around her. They took up a fighting stance and each of them pulled out their wands.
“I’m afraid you can’t Luna.” Said the one she had tapped on the shoulder.
Knowing exactly what to do Luna rolled through the tangle legs and sprinted away. She heard a call of Get her! In the distance but she couldn’t stop, she ran as fast as she could moving side to side trying to dodge spells that were coming left and right.
Luna ran out of the garden at top speed. She thought back to the day she had done the exact same thing from her father.
She was shocked as she felt something hot hit her in the back. She collapsed to the ground and her eyes started to close.
No! She thought, trying to fight off the spell but it was no use, she had been stupefied.
She was falling unconscious when the group of ‘police men’ had gathered around her. One of them pulled out a set of muggle handcuffs and snapped them around her wrists.
She was closing her eyes as she heard the words “You are under arrest for the murder of Liraes Moore.”
Luna lay limp on the floor, hands cuffed body spread out the way she had fallen.
The ‘police men’ picked her up and lay her across the backseat of the police car. Two of the policemen jumped in the front and drove away heading for London.

I think my english teacher would be pleased about this chapter It mentions Dante XD

Luna’s Plea

Luna was marched into a large stone room, lit by torches stationed around the circular walls. It looked like more of a dungeon than a room. As she looked around she saw benches that rose high up to the ceiling and that the benches were filled with wizards and witches all wearing plum coloured robes with an elaborately stitched silver W on the left hand side.

In the centre of the room was a large wooden chair that if it wasn’t for the chains hanging limply from the arms and the dark air that surrounded it, it could have been a primitive throne. Luna realised that the two burly wizards, each one holding onto one of her arms were taking her there.

She was forced roughly into the chair, the chains clinked and chinked impatiently as Luna turned to face the crowd. Suddenly the chains that had been hung loosely glowed gold and snaked themselves around her arms; she was trapped.
She struggled a little against them but there was no use and she gave up quickly, instead she looked around the room at the people in the benches. It was hard to see who any of them were as their faces were hidden in darkness, Luna presumed this was done on purpose as she struggled to distinguish the facial expressions of the people around her.

Many of them were not giving anything away with their faces, either that or she just couldn’t tell though the dim. She recognised a few of the expressions though. Disgust, loathing, pity. She saw them all on the faces of the Wizengamot.

A man’s voice broke the silence, it was a slightly gruff voice and it echoed around the stone walls of the chamber.
“State your name and your age.”

“Luna Moore. Sixteen.” She replied nervously. There was an outbreak of whispering as she spoke. Sixteen?

“Luna Moore. You have been brought before the Wizengamot council to answer to the charges upon you of the murder of Liraes Moore at his home on the 19th of May.”
Luna took a deep breath in and waited.
“You ran away from home on the 21st of July the previous year after attacking your father Liraes Moore and not only leaving him in a serious condition but stealing his belongings and damaging personal property.

Luna thought back. I didn’t steal anything! Yeah, I broke the window jumping out but I didn’t leave him in a serious condition.
“You then travelled to London where you attacked a group of teenage muggles…”
“They were attacking me…” Luna interrupted but her comment was ignored.
“…you were brought to the ministry where you refused to co-operate with Corona Powell head of magical law enforcement and evaded capture and escaped from the ministry via the floo network.” The man looked around at the rest of the Wizengamot before turning back to Luna.
“You then returned to your home ten months later the day after his death. You were seen in the ministry taking a portkey to the town next to your father’s.”
He stood up and turned to the Wizengamot “If there are any questions you would like to ask the accused.” He said bowing and sitting down as a frail looking woman stood up. She was old and her voice slightly wheezy as she spoke.

“Why did you leave your father?” she asked.
Luna closed her eyes picturing his sneering face as he spat at her and gave her a look of purest loathing.
“He didn’t… treat me very well.” Her voice was shaky and uneven as she tried to talk.
“Didn’t you think of telling the ministry?” asked the old woman.
Luna thought for a moment. She had considered it before but she knew that the outcome would be just the same. She would end up back in a foster home or a children’s home, separated from Racheya.
“My younger sister, Racheya, she would have been placed in a care home.”
“And he didn’t abuse her?”
“No.” she shook her head as the woman sat down and a much younger woman this time stood up.

“How would you say he didn’t treat you well?”
Words stuck in Luna’s throat. She wanted to tell them how he hated her with such a passion that could never have been conceived by even the likes of Dante!
“He made me do all the work, kept me hungry, no new clothes, no anything.” She said feeling a little stupid she could not find the words she wanted.
“Did that make you angry?”
Luna frowned. “That’s a stupid question.”
The woman simply replied calmly. “If you please…”
“Well yeah, I guess it did.” She said slightly angrily. She knew where this was going and there was nothing she could do about it as the woman continued.
“Did you want revenge?”
“No!” said Luna immediately.
“He abused you; made you miserable. It didn’t occur to you to get back at him?”
“No!” Luna snapped knowing it was not strictly true.
“Then why did you kill him?”
“I didn’t kill him!” said Luna angrily as a man stood up. This one was different to the man who had spoken before but his icy voice chilled her.
“You were seen at the scene of the crime. The last spell used by your wand was the killing curse! Why would such an innocent girl, as you claim to be, have any use for an unforgivable curse?!”
Some of the Wizengamot cheered and Luna felt her stomach knotting. There was nothing she could say now.

“Silence.” The same man who had spoke first cut though the chatting of the Wizengamot.
“Considering the fact that you have shown yourself not only able, but willing to commit the murder of your own father at such a young age and that you have shown no guilt or remorse for what you have done…”
Luna screamed. “I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING! I’M INNOCENT!”
The man gave a curt nod to the two men who had brought Luna in. They nodded back and turned to the back door of the room. They pointed their wands at the door and it swung slowly open.
Two dementors glided into the room, their black hoods hiding their misshapen and gruesome faces. They waited either side of Luna’s chair which she had started to struggle against again as she felt as though someone had thrown her into an icy cold lake with no way out, she started to drown.

The man seemed unfazed by the dementors as he looked down at Luna.
“For the murder of Liraes Moore by use of an unforgivable curse I suggest a life term in Azkaban.”
Luna suddenly looked up. “Life?” she whispered.
“All those in favour raise a hand.”
Nearly everyone in the room raised their hand and the man nodded as Luna felt herself plummeting.
“Let the records show that Luna Moore, aged sixteen, will serve a life term in Azkaban for the murder of Liraes Moore.” The man stepped down and the rest of the Wizengamot started to talk. From the babble of chat she managed to pick out snippets of conversation. “Disgraceful” “Just sixteen!” “Her own father!”.
She closed her eyes and waited for the moment she would be marched down to Azkaban, from where she would never leave.
She felt the chains unwrap from around her arms and the two wizards stood her up.
Luna started to struggle against the two wizards but they tightened their grip and marched her around the chair and towards the door.
Luna screamed. She would not go without a fight. She would not go voluntarily to Azkaban.

“I'M INNOCENT!” She screeched, “I'M INNOCENT!” but everyone ignored her except one of the guards that were dragging her out of the chamber.
“How can you kill your own dad?” he said scathingly.
“I didn’t!” she pleaded but the guard simply shook his head giving her a look of contempt as she was dragged away, flanked by the two dementors.
“I hope you rot in Azkaban. Murderer.” He spat.

New Home

Luna felt sick. The boat ride over to the fortress had made her queasy and though she hadn’t encountered any dementors yet, the mere sight of the dark, towering eerie structure looming over her made her sick. As she was brought closer by the 3 wizards guarding her, each with a wand point firmly pressed into her neck, she could feel the horror emanating from the walls.

She was dragged into the fortress though a small wooden door that looked like it could rust off its hinges at any moment. She felt a chill run up her spine as she saw two dementors swooping towards her. Luna felt like she was going to faint as they stood either side of her but she gritted her teeth and forced herself to pay attention, it could be important.

She was lead by the three wizards who had moved towards the front and the dementors stopped her running back. One of the wizards shoved a ragged set of grey clothes into her arms and Luna shuddered at the thought of all the people who had worn these before her.
They turned her around and pulled off her clothes. She felt extremely self conscious as she stood naked pulling on her new clothes.

Once she had them on they started to walk again. They turned into a corridor, then another. Curving left and right, turning through long winding corridors, each as cold and uninviting as the next.

She started to hear the distant sound of screams echoing though the stone corridors. The screaming became louder and louder and it made Luna shiver inside herself. They then turned into another corridor and her eyes widened.
This one was long and each side lined with cells. The sides were made of thick metal plates and the front was made of strong metal bars that looked like they would be impossible to break though.

Luna looked into each cell as she passed, shuddering at the sight of the weak, shivering wrecks that were either curled up in the corner of their cell or screaming at her through the bars. Would she become like this? She couldn’t help but wonder as they continued to walk past cells.

She passed by a cell containing someone she recognised, he was Ryan a famous quidditch player! Before she had time to wonder why he was there she felt herself being pushed into a cell just a few cells away from Ryan.

The wizards pushed her into the back of the cell then backed away slowly as they exited the cell. Then came the sound Luna dreaded. The slamming of the cell bars as she was locked in, for the rest of her life.

Luna looked around her cell. There wasn’t much to it, much meaning nothing. The only item in her cell was a bowl that Luna presumed would be for food and water. She strolled around. There was just enough room for her to walk a few paces in each direction and swing her arms around a little. Luna felt her arm twitch a little as she sat down on the cell floor. It was cold and dirty but she didn’t mind, she had slept outside when she was much younger and her father had thrown her out of the house.

She shuddered as a dementor passed her cell. She shivered; scared in her cell, suddenly Azkaban felt a lot scarier to her than it did when she first entered.
Closing her eyes to try and block her feelings didn’t work and she couldn’t cut out the sound of peoples screams and the wonder of how long it would be before she became like that.

I dont care if anyone's not reading it! I'm obsessed with this story now XD

Marbles

Luna sat curled up in the corner of her cell, she had been there for a month now and she hardly had a night sleep in all that time, let alone a good nights sleep.
Whenever she tried to sleep another bad memory would creep into her mind and she would not be able to think of anything else or the screams of the other prisoners kept her awake.

She had fallen into a routine. Every morning the dementors would drop off a bowl of food and water. Even though she was being fed she hated whenever the dementors were near her. Normally she could try to fight off the dark feelings but when they were so close, their power so strong she often was trapped in a memory that didn’t die for sometimes hours at a time.
She would then try to pass the time by walking around in a circle, sitting still or trying to talk to any of the other prisoners. A lot of them had been there a lot longer than her and had already lost their mind.

Luna stood up and began to pace around the tiny space in which she had. If she thought about one thing and one thing only, constantly she could sometimes feel a tiny ray of home that would be extinguished by the dementors that prowled around the cells.
As a dementor passed her cell she shivered and curled back up into a ball. She saw the sneering face of her father as he threw her out of the house laughing. She saw him grab hold of her hands and dunk them in a pan of boiling water. She saw him chasing her around the house that fateful day she had run away.

Luna began to rock slowly and closed her eyes as she tightened her ball. I’m just sixteen! She thought as she buried her face in her clothes. I should be out having fun, flirting with boys, messing around with mates. Not stuck in the middle of nowhere with some of the craziest people on the planet. She left out a sniff but forced herself to not cry. She could never cry. It would mean he had beaten her, her father had beaten her, even when he was dead he haunted her.

Her eyes sprang open and she bolted up. What was she doing here? She had sworn to herself that she would become nothing like him, but what was she doing? She was becoming just like her father. It had taken a team of wizards to arrest her just like it had for him. He had to be brought to the ministry by force like she had, he had spent time in Azkaban…like she was.
Luna began to scream. “I'M NOT LIKE HIM! I'M NOT LIKE HIM! I'M NOT HIM!” She pounded her fists against the iron bars of her cell. “I'M NOT LIKE HIM! I'M NOT LIKE HIM!” She screeched manically. Luna threw herself into the back wall of her cell and slumped to the floor defeated.
“I’m not like him.” She whispered, lying flat on her back in her cell. “I’m not like him.”
Her arm twitched as she spread out her arms and legs like a star.

Closing her eyes she began to talk to herself. “I’m not like him. I'm not like him. I’m not like him.” She's said wiping a tear from her eye. She couldn’t cry. Not now not ever. Not for him or anyone else. It wasn’t her father that was making her cry, no. It was the prison. Not him. The dementors. Not him. He couldn’t do that to her.
Exhausted she managed to fall asleep, lay spread out in her cell.

The next day Luna was in her cell trying to do a handstand against her cell wall when she suddenly fell into a shivering heap on the floor. Some people might think that trying to do handstands was something fun, something happy that reminds a person of childhood fun and games but for Luna, things were different. She had never learnt how to play simple games with children. Once she had been whisked away from the care home she had lived without friends until she went to Hogwarts. Whenever Luna thought of childhood things like handstands and hop scotches, playing with conkers and marbles it made her shiver. Her father had thrown her marbles away; and he was throwing them away now.

Visit me

3 months into her life long sentence Luna was sat in the middle of her cell when she heard movement from the end of the corridor. Were they bringing someone else in? she tried to look through her bars to see what it was but she couldn’t see very far.
Footsteps were coming closer, Luna tried to focus, definitely three sets of feet, and they were just about to pass by her cell.

She gasped.
“Rodinth?” she said disbelievingly. Two large wizards were stood either side of Rodinth. What was he doing in Azkaban? He wasn’t wearing the clothes she wore, she looked down at her ragged grey clothes that she had been given the day she had entered the fortress. They were stained with food, water and other things.
She tried to smile but couldn’t as she walked up close to the cell bars.
“Is that really you?”
Rodinth nodded his had.
“Luna…Luna…what have you done?” Rodinth said looking at her with pity.
“I haven’t done anything.” She said slowly backing into a corner of her cell.
“Luna. You killed him. You told me you weren’t a criminal.”
“And you told me you came from Switzerland.” She said her eyes darting around. This wasn’t the happy reunion she was wanting. She wanted to smile and let Rodinth know she was alright, but how could she lie like that?
“I didn’t kill him.”

Rodinth looked at her up and down, taking in her full appearance. She was wearing grey rags that looked like they hadn’t been washed for years. Her short, wavy red hair was starting to grow past her neck and was matted and just a complete tangle of knots with the odd one sticking up in unusual directions . Around her eyes were large bags and her skin was paper white.

“What are you doing in this place Luna? You're sixteen!” he said shaking his head.
“I am?” she said slightly puzzled. She had lost track of time, she could have been 70 and she wouldn’t have noticed, every day blended into the next one until it became one unending horror that would not end.
Rodinth nodded “Yes you are.”
“Oh.” It didn’t register with Luna. She would be there for the rest of her life, no matter what age she was.

“God Luna, look at you! You're a mess.”
Luna shrunk into the shadows of her cell. “You wouldn’t be so good if…if… if it was you who was trapped in here. What are you doing here anyway?” she asked suspiciously.
“I came to see you.” He said simply.
“How did you know I was here?” she asked eyeing him up through the bars.
“My uncle came around and mentioned it.”

Luna shook her head. “Why did they let you visit me eh? Why?” she said her eyes were wide and she spoke quickly, the words tumbling out after each other.
Rodinth shrugged, “I guess they took pity on you because you are so young.”
Luna shook her head vigorously and retreated to the back of her cell.
“They didn’t take any pity on me before. They shot me down, cheered as I was sentenced and threw me in here to rot. How can they take pity on me and throw me in this place at the same time.” She said maliciously. She may have started to loose her mind but her ability to deduce things hadn’t quite left her yet.

Rodinth stepped back from the cell. “Listen Luna, I came here to help but you don’t need to snap at me.” He said frowning
“You don’t know what its like to be here!!” she screamed, throwing herself at the bars. “You cant tell me not to snap when you don’t know what its like to be in this place every second of every day FOREVER!”

Luna ran at the bars, slamming her whole body into them. She was furious, Rodinth didn’t understand what she was going through, how could he?
The two guards who had brought Rodinth in ran over to see what the noise was. They peered into the cell through the bars and saw Luna sprawled across the floor with her hands covering her face. The guards simply shrugged, she was just going crazy like everyone else and wasn’t worthy of their attention. They walked off without another word, leaving Luna and Rodinth alone again.

They plunged into silence for a few minutes until Rodinth finally broke it. “Luna…what's happened to you?” he said, his voice has a touch of fear in it. Seeing someone in Luna’s condition could make even adults scared.
“Azkaban is what's happened to me.” She muttered from the floor.
Rodinth shook his head. “No, I meant, what happened when you ran away? You had a nice life with my family you could have stayed for as long as you wanted but you left. Why?”

Rodinth had asked one of the most difficult questions and Luna didn’t know how to answer. At the time she had felt like it was the best thing to do. She had to find her real family and no matter what happened she would have still had the courage to face her father and look at him eye to eye.
“I had to go back.” She mumbled, curling up on the floor. “I had to see him again.”
Rodinth was puzzled. “But you hated him and he hated you, what was to be accomplished.”
“I don’t know. But I had to do it.” Luna said simply.
“You had to kill him…”
Luna sprang up. “I DIDN’T KILL HIM!” She shouted at Rodinth through the bars, why wouldn’t he believe her?

“Remember the first night you spent at my house…”
Luna nodded.
“You told me that you would never become like him, that you would never do what he did.”
She closed her eyes and curled herself into a ball.
“I didn’t know you were lying to me.”
Rodinth turned around to leave, as he was about to walk away Luna slowly stood up.
Rodinth watched her as she walked closer to the bars as though she could simply walk through them but she stopped just short.
“Rodinth, please,” she begged, “Help me. Get me out of here.”
Rodinth’s eyes looked like they were filled with tears for a second but quick as a flash they had gone.
“I’ll try.” He said walking away from Luna’s cell, unsure if this would be the last time he would see her ever again.

I actually started to write Breaking Free but it turned into such a long start it is a chapter in itself XD

Dementor Dreams

It had been 3 months since Rodinth’s visit but it still was fresh in Luna’s mind. As she sat on the cold floor of her cell she couldn’t help but think about what he had said to her, and she agreed. She had turned into her father. This was his vengeance from the dead.
She shuddered as she felt a dementor pass her cell and she was plunged into dark memories again.

Racheya was stood on the other side of a field. The sun was shining bright as it beat down upon her head. Luna ran towards her, she ran as fast as she possibly could towards her sister.
The grass tickled her ankles as she sprinted towards Racheya, her arms wide open to embrace her with love and affection. Luna was barely a foot away from her when she heard a sniff from Racheya. “Luna, where are you?” she said, tears streaming from her eyes.

“Rach! I’m here!” Luna cried. She was right in front of her, why couldn’t she hear her?
She placed her arms on her little sisters shoulders but her hands slipped through as through she had made contact with thin air.
Luna shivered. The sun had gone in and the bright blue sky was replaced by a foreboding and grim grey colour.
A rattling and rasping breath sound made Luna freeze. She shook as she turned around to look at what she had been dreading. The towering figure of a dementor made her shrink into herself as she moved steadily away from the approaching horror.

Luna closed her eyes and waited for the worst as the dementor came closer and closer but it never came. Daring to open one eye she peeked out from her eyelids and received a shock. The sky had turned a shining blue as the sun shone down onto the soft green grass. Where had the dementor gone?

She span around expecting it to be behind her ready to enfold her into its world of doom but there was no dementor, nothing except a slumped body on the floor. Racheya!
She knelt down to see her sister close up. Her skin was paper white and her eyes were glassed over, her body was limp and sprawled upon the soft covering of grass. Luna checked her pulse. She was still breathing and the reality dawned on her; Racheya had received the dementor’s kiss.

Luna moved so close to Racheya’s face she could feel her gentle, rhythmic breathing. “Oh Racheya.” Whispered Luna, “I am so sorry. I did this to you.”
Suddenly Racheya’s eyes snapped open “Yes. You did this Luna.” Her voice was harsh and cruel as Luna jumped back in surprise. “You’re going to kill me just like you did daddy.” she said her eyes narrowing.

“But…I…didn’t!” Luna tried to explain as she felt her breath catch in her throat, a cold wave rushed over her and she span around to face another dementor.
She then heard the words echoed from her trial. “Luna Moore, aged sixteen, will serve a life term in Azkaban for the murder of Liraes Moore” spat her sister, nodding to the dementor.

A cold, clammy hand gripped Luna’s shoulder and she was forced to face the dementor as it bent low, its ‘face’ coming closer to her.
Luna tried to scream but she felt the breath being stuck in her lungs as she struggled against the dementor as it lowered its hood, its face was close enough for Luna to feel its rattling breath and as it clamped its mouth upon her she managed to draw one more breath before everything turned black.

Luna screamed as she awoke in the familiar place of her cell, sweat poured from her face. Had she been asleep or simply frozen in thoughts, Luna couldn’t tell; everything had started to blend into one drawn out torture from which she would never escape from, never save Racheya from. But she would find a way. She could not let that happen to her own sister.

Okay... here is Breaking Free XD

Breaking Free

A week since her dream about Racheya, Luna was starting to feel a little better. She no longer fell into dark memories or dreams whenever a dementor sucked in the air around her; she simply focused on the one thing that mattered. Racheya.
She was starting to feel a little more confident and even though she still spent most of her day shaking in the corner or screaming out of the bars of her cell she had developed a plan.

She waited until the dementors opened her cell and came in to change her food. Usually she would pass out or hide away in the corner until they were gone. When they were so close she would remember the darkest things her father had ever done and she could never stop it until she became obsessed with saving her sister. She was going to rescue her from the dementors, they were going to get Racheya as well as Luna and she would not allow herself to drag Racheya down.

As the dementor was about to pick up her food bowl she snatched it away and threw it out of the open bars of her cell. There were two dementors stood outside but the food bowl made a loud clanging that distracted them temporarily. Just long enough for Luna to take her chance and run.

She sprinted out of the cell block and through the winding corridors she had walked through herself when she had first been brought to Azkaban. It was a good thing she had kept her eyes open as she had been marched in otherwise she might have been lost. Sprinting through blissfully empty corridors she finally reached a door to the outside world. Freedom!

As she pushed through the door she was blinded by the light, pure sunlight! Then came the noise she had dreaded, A loud alarm was going off around the fortress, there would be teams of wizards there within seconds to try and capture the escaped criminal but she hoped she would be out to sea by then.

Sprinting she didn’t have much chance to enjoy the scenery, it was a cold and rocky shore but it looked the most beautiful sight in the world. She was close to the waters edge. All she had to do now was to dive in and swim and she would be free!
Breathing in the fresh, salt air she was rejuvenated as she began to run towards the edge of the water but she felt the hot point of a wand pressed into her neck, a hand roughly grabbing her arm and a threatening voice muttering. “Don’t Move.”
Luna tried to struggle a little but the wizard dug his wand further into her neck and it made her flinch. “Let me go.” She mumbled trying to pull away from the wizard.
“Don’t even try it, give me a reason and I will.” There was pure venom in his voice, Luna couldn’t help wondering what she had done that annoyed this guy so much.

She felt another wand pressed into her neck, then a third. Three wizards held her at wand point as they started to march her back into the fortress but Luna couldn’t give up. She had gotten so far and she couldn’t allow herself to simply be caught and thrown back in her cell to live out the rest of her life in misery. She would rather die than spend her days in that tower of horror.

Luna wrenched herself free from the three wizards and ran. Sprinting towards the water she dodged a few spells that had been shot from the wizards’ wands as she raced towards the sea. She noticed that the spells the wizards shot were red, but she saw a flash of what looked like green and couldn’t help wondering if that grumpy wizard had tried to throw a killing curse at her. Wishing she could simply have been hit by it and died she continued to run. She wouldn’t give up voluntarily, they would have to drag her away by force; and that’s exactly what they did.

She could feel the salt spray as she was so close to the waters edge, then she suddenly felt something hit her in the back and she toppled, face down into the mud. She had been hit by a stunning spell and as she lay defeated in the pool of mud the three wizards caught up with her and looked down at the pile of rags and bone that had tried to escape. She was caked in think brown mud and embarrassment. She had allowed herself to be reduced to a frail little girl who had stupidly tried to escape and was now paying the price of it.

Luna was starting to feel drowsy and her eyes flickered but she desperately wanted to stay awake. She had to run, she was free. FREE! Her eyes closed and everything went black.

Isolation

Luna’s eyes flickered open slowly. She was back in her cell for another day of misery. No. She was moving. She looked down and could see her feet dragging behind her, but why couldn’t she see around her? She tried to move her arms but they were chained together. The same was with her legs, but she was moving. The taste of mud stung the inside of her mouth then she remembered. She had been so close to escaping, to finally being free. But now what was happening? She felt herself stopping, then there was a burst of light through the blackness as something was whipped off her head and her eyes squinted through the light.

She was in a small white room with no furniture except a set of shackles chained to the back wall. Her stomach lurched forward and she felt like she was going to throw up but she didn’t have a chance as she felt someone push her further into the cell and drag her to the shackles. She lashed her arm out towards whoever it was but she felt the now familiar feeling of a wand at the throat and she gave in, letting the person, whoever it was, snap her wrists into the shackles.

Only when she was facing forwards in the cuffs did she see that it was one of the men who had dragged her in, the one who had threatened her when she had ran away and the one who she was pretty sure had thrown the killing curse her way.

Luna’s arms were chained just above her head and her feet had been chained to the wall behind her. She looked at the man for explanation but she didn’t really need one. She had tried to run away, she was dangerous and they wouldn’t take any chances.

The man spoke in the same venomous tone he had before. “Prisoner 4566, Luna Moore. You have been placed in a high security isolation cell because of your attempt to escape from your cell in the general block. You will be chained 24 hours a day, there will be dementors outside your cell door for 24 hours a day and you will no longer have any visitors.”

Luna shuddered, “How…long.” She said through chattering teeth, the cell had suddenly gone cold.
The man wrinkled his nose and glanced up and down at her chains. “For the foreseeable future. As long as there are no… incidents.” His lip curled into an evil smile and Luna frowned.

“What do you mean. Incidents?” she spat struggling against her chains again. She was hating this man more and more as she looked into his cold eyes it reminded Luna of her father. She shook and struggled against her chains more.

“Well… we wouldn’t want you to try to escape again. The consequences could be… quite severe, such a waste of a young girl like yourself would be a shame.” He said turning around. “Oh, and the door is sealed by magic from the outside, we’ve learnt to be a little more careful when it comes to dangerous criminals.” He said walking out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

Luna shouted, surely he would hear her. “GET BACK! I CANT STAY HERE! I CANT STAY HERE!” Closing her eyes she wished she was back at the sea front, breathing in the salt air, watching the waves crashing against the rocks, she was almost happy. The she suddenly felt as though someone had thrown ice cubes at her as the happy thought was twisted. She felt the pressure of the wand on her neck and the stone face of her father grinning maliciously as she was dragged back into Azkaban.

She then saw the shell her sister Racheya walking towards her in the cell she was crying. “Luna, why didn’t you come so save me?” whispered Racheya as she moved closer to Luna.
“You could have done it Luna. You could have escaped.”
“But you wouldn’t do it. Not even for me Luna. Your own sister.”
Racheya advanced on Luna slowly as Luna struggled against the chains.

Luna screamed as she tried to move, she wanted to curl into a ball or hit the wall, or bury her face into her body so she didn’t have to see anything. She could hide in the darkness and nobody would come for her. She could be alone. She wanted to move, anything to let her express her anger, frustration, fury. Anything but be chained to a wall, vulnerable and weak. She couldn’t hide or shrink away into the shadows. Luna was open for the dementors to pick at her and for the first time. She was truly and utterly terrified.

Annnd another XD

In Evidence

Rodinth took a deep breath and checked his wand was in his pocket before knocking on Hannah’s door. As he waited for her to answer he looked around the neighbour hood.
It was generally a muggle area, he could tell this from the plain house fronts, and simply designed gardens. They all belong to house proud muggle families; nobody would think that less than a year ago a murder had taken place in the house across the street.

Glancing back and forth between the old Moore house and his friend Hannah’s front door he couldn’t help but wonder if he was doing the right thing. What if Luna was lying to him? Was he releasing a murderer into the world? He tried to shake off his doubts as he remembered her plea as he was leaving Azkaban, was she really such a good actor?

He didn’t have time to ponder it as the door swung open to reveal a strappingly beautiful girl stood in the doorway. She flicked back her long blonde hair and smiled at Rodinth, “Nice to see you Rodinth. Come in.” she said standing out of the way so he could come in.

They stood in a long hallway painted a pale magnolia with elegant paintings and pot plants lining the sides. Rodinth stuttered slightly as he spoke, nervous about what he was about to do. “Hannah, I need a favour.”
She nodded, “Yes you said in your letter, what exactly do you want me to do?” she asked placing her hand on her hips.
“I need you to take this to Corona Powell for me.” He said producing a thick, brown envelope.
Taking it from Rodinth, Hannah bounced it up and down lightly in her hands, “What exactly is it?” she asked suspiciously.
“Its evidence. My friend, she…” he broke off, “Do you know Luna Moore.”
Hannah nodded. “Yeah, she used to live around here.”
“She's in prison and I have evidence to get her out.” He said nervously.
“Ah. Why can’t you give it in yourself?” she asked eyeing the package suspiciously.

Rodinth opened his mouth to speak then shut it again, unsure of what to say but for some reason Hannah simply nodded.
“So, you’ll do it?” Rodinth asked disbelievingly.
Hannah nodded again, “I trust you Rodinth.”
Rodinth felt a pang of guilt as he lied to his oldest friend. Now he thought about it, he hadn’t actually lied but he sure wasn’t telling her everything.
He took in a deep breath as he spoke again. “Thank you Hannah. Just leave this at the ministry please.”

She smiled and nodded. “I’ll drop it off tomorrow.”
Rodinth breathed a sigh of relief and edged his way towards the door.
”Thank you a lot Hannah, I owe you one.”
“Actually, you owe me two. Remember.” She said smiling mysteriously as she opened the door for Rodinth who was starting to blush furiously.

“Yes, I remember.” he said his face the colour of a tomato as he walked towards the open door. “Thank you Hannah.” He said stepping out of the front door and out onto the street where he looked back at Luna’s old house. “See you!.” He called, waving to Hannah, who smiled and waved back.
“Bye.” She replied, shutting the door.

Corona Powell sat at her desk in her office signing another sheet of parchment when a young wizard walked into her office. Corona, was annoyed. What happened to knocking?
“Excuse me, but there is a door.” She said frowning.
The wizard was carrying a thick brown envelope, “I’m sorry, but I think there’s something there you need to see.”
