PAMS!

As Scarlet entered the Slytherin common room everyone fell silent. Draco glared at her then whispered something to an older Slytherin and they sniggered. Scarlet looked around at everyone watching her as if waiting for her to snap; to go mad. Scarlet’s eyes stopped on Draco and thought if Father can see into peoples minds maybe I can. She shook her head then made her way to the girls dorm.

“Scarlet!” Severus shouted the next day in Potions when he saw Scarlet wasn’t paying attention. Scarlet had been staring at Draco daydreaming about being with him again. She jumped snapping back to reality; she looked at her father. “Did you hear anything I said? Or were you too busy undressing Mr. Malfoy with your mind?” Severus said glaring at her. Scarlet glared back at him, “I wasn’t ‘undressing him with my mind’ I was thinking that I’d love to do a more complex potion then the ageing potion. I mean seriously I could make that in my sleep, in fact I did once.” Scarlet smirked at her father. “Well, then I will have to find you a more complex potion, maybe you could try to make Wolfsbane.”

Scarlet laughed, “Wolfsbane? You call that complex? I call it simple.” Severus gave her the look of death and muttered, “Then sit back, shut up and listen.” Scarlet didn’t care what people thought of her, her life was a living hell now. Scarlet took notes, well acted like she did. Severus stood up, “Class is dismissed, Scarlet, stay behind.” Scarlet stayed in her seat feeling her fathers eyes on her as they waited for everyone to leave.

After the last student was gone Severus waved his wand and the door closed. “Scarlet, I want you to at least try to act as if you don’t know the potions. I don’t like to-” Scarlet snorted, “You want me to act dumb?” “No, Scarlet, I want you to try.” Severus said then added, “Tomorrow is the meeting, come to my office the moment you get up.” Scarlet nodded, “You want to know why I was forced to join?” Severus whispered, “Yes.”

“Because I am your daughter.” Scarlet said standing up. She gathered her things then left the classroom. Scarlet entered the Great Hall; she swept over to the Slytherin table then sat down. She picked at her food thinking about what might happen at the meeting the next day. Although she held her head high the rest of the day she had to endure the catcalls the Slytherin boys made at her.

At supper that night Scarlet stayed behind because her father had spoke to her before she ate. She had stared at Draco during supper her heart leapt when he would look at her. “Scarlet?” Came her fathers voice. Scarlet stood up then looked at him then noticed that Dumbledore was with him. “Yes?” Scarlet replied wondering what this was about. “Do not worry, child, you have nothing to fear.” Dumbledore smiled his eyes twinkling.

“My office, Albus?” Severus asked looking at the older man. “Yes, I have already sent Fawkes down there incase something goes wrong.” Severus nodded then looked at his daughter. “If you are worried you may take my hand if it will comfort you.” Scarlet nodded but didn’t take his hand, she was a Death Eater now and had to show that she was brave.

“Alright then, lets go.” Severus said leading the way to his office. When they reached the stairs Scarlet found herself holding her fathers hand. Severus opened the door letting Scarlet and Dumbledore enter before shutting and locking the door. Scarlet let go of her fathers hand then sat down waiting to see what they were up to. Severus sat in front of her as Dumbledore stood behind him.

“Now you want to know what the right choice to make, yes?” Dumbledore asked as Severus got out a very old spell book. “Yes.” Scarlet nodded still wondering what they were up to. Scarlet watched as her father flipped through the pages then stopped. He looked up at her then turned the book around so she could read the words. “If you truly want to know then read this spell out loud, make sure you say everything right.”

Scarlet nodded then read aloud, “I cast this spell upon myself so that my heart and soul will show me that way to the one I am distended to be with. In this moment in time I call to my heart and soul to open my eyes to the one I truly love and want. Oh, please, heart and soul show me the right path to take. As I rest my head and close my eyes I need to dream the dream that shows me the light.” Scarlet’s eyes began to feel heavy and droop, Severus quickly waved his wand and changed Scarlet’s chair to a bed. Scarlet fell sideways on the bed and was asleep before she hit the bed.

Scarlet’s Dream

Scarlet looked into his cold gray eyes as he held her close. “Scarlet…” He whispered in her ear. “Scarlet…I love you with all of my heart and I would never leave you for anything or anyone.” Scarlet’s eyes scanned his face as if looking for something that would show that he was lying. A smirk showed on his face, “I love you, Scarlet…that’s why…” He got down on one knee then the scene changed; the man was in a suite and Scarlet was in a wedding gown.

Scarlet’s heart was pounding; telling her that he was the one, she barely heard anything the man marrying them was saying. When he asked if there was anyone that had anything to say to protest why they shouldn’t get married, no one spoke. “Do you, Scarlet Cecilia Snape, take this man you see before you…” After he finished Scarlet breathed, “Yes. I do.” He turned to the man in the suite, “Do you…” After he finished the man said loud and proud, “Yes, for now and for always, I do.”

Scarlet smiled and beamed at the man before her. “You may now kiss the bride.” The man leaned towards her and breathed, “I love you, Scarlet Malfoy.” Scarlet smiled and replied, “And I love you, Lucius Malfoy.” As they kissed the real world was coming back to her; she was waking up.

End Dream

As she slept she smiled and whispered, “Lucius…” Severus smiled as he stroked her hair. Scarlet’s eyes fluttered open, “Dad, I know who I should be with.” Severus nodded, “You whispered his name right before you woke up. I’m glad it worked out for you better then it did for me. You slept all night and almost all day, we should get to the meeting early, maybe you can tell Lucius who you chose.”

Scarlet nodded then stood up and walked with her father to the grounds then to the gate. She kept her eyes lowered; she wanted to hold her fathers hand but knew she shouldn’t. When they got outside the gates Severus took Scarlet by the arm then they both felt as if they were being pulled through a small pipe. When they arrived Severus let go of Scarlet’s arm and left her so he could mingle.

“You must be the child the Dark Lord was telling us about.” A voice behind Scarlet said. Scarlet turned around and sneered at the masked man, “And if I am?” “You’d best watch your attitude little girl.” The man said pushing her. Scarlet whipped out her wand and pointed it at the mans heart. “No one pushing me around! You are just a piece of trash.” “Scarlet! Put your wand away!” Her father shouted striding over the her and the man.

Scarlet kept her wand out wanting the man to pay for touching her and for calling her a child and little girl. Little girl indeed! She was sixteen not six! “Severus, let her try a curse.” Said a high pitched voice walking the where Scarlet and the man stood. “Go on, young Snape, try an Unforgivable.” Scarlet stared at the man her wand still pointed at him. She wanted him to feel pain for calling her a child and a little girl. Her hand was steady as she said, “Crucio!”

Severus watched as his daughter sent the man in front of her screaming in pain. She has mastered the curse on her first try! I have underestimated my own daughter. “My Lord, she…” “Silence!” Voldemort placed his hand on Scarlet’s shoulder and sent her a message through his touch. Scarlet dropped her wand as she saw what she was to do. She began to shiver as she thought I will have to betray the one I love. She dropped to her knees the moment Voldemort removed his hand. “She knows what she has to do. Severus, take her back to school.”

“Yes, Master.” Severus pulled up his daughter who seemed to be lost in her mind. He held onto her tightly as they once again got the feeling of being pulled through a pipe. Scarlet didn’t know where she was until she heard her fathers voice. “Scarlet, what does he want you to do?” Her eyes focused on him, “I can’t say, if I do I will be punished. I can‘t tell anyone. He‘ll know.” Severus put his arm around her shoulder, “You look tired, why don’t you lay on my bed and take a short nap.” Scarlet looked around and saw that she was in her fathers office.

“No. I have to talk to…someone…” Scarlet moved away from her father then walked out of his office to the Great Hall. She looked around then spotted Harry, she walked over to him. “Harry? Can I talk to you? Alone?” Harry rose an eyebrow then shrugged; he stood up then followed Scarlet into an empty classroom. “What do you -” Harry started but was cut off by Scarlet pulling him into a kiss.

Ok...Harry too?... she can do the Crucio curse! PAMS!

Scarlet pinned Harry to the wall as she continued to kiss him. She jumped away from him when she heard a voice shout, “What the bloody hell are you doing?!” Scarlet turned to see her father. She smirked, “Just a little mission.” It took a few seconds for what she said to sink in. “Oh, just control yourself.” He was speaking to Scarlet but his eyes were on Harry. He turned then left closing and locking the door.

“What are you up to?” Harry asked eyeing Scarlet suspiciously; she gave him a sexy pout then pinned him against the wall once more. “I’m not up to anything short of asking you out.” I hope Lucius will understand. Harry’s eyes widened then narrowed, “A Slytherin asking a Gryffindor out? A Slytherin and Gryffindor dating? It’ll be a cold day in summer before that happens.” Harry pushed Scarlet away from him then walked to the door. At the door he got out his wand then mutter a spell. “Harry, stop and listen to me!”

Harry stopped his hand on the handle; Scarlet walked over to him. She placed a hand lightly on his shoulder, “I like you, Harry. I really do. I…I don’t care what everyone else will think.” She smirked inwardly at how sincere she sounded. Hmm…maybe being a Death Eater isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. “So, what do you say? Maybe we could go to Hogsmeade tomor-” Scarlet’s hand clamped over her Mark. “I…Dad!” She screamed falling to her knees from the pain.

Severus heard her scream then reached open the door. “Potter! Out!” Harry didn’t need him telling him twice. Severus slammed the door shut barely missing Harry’s robes; he locked the door then turned to his daughter. “Dad…it hurts…” Scarlet mumbled. Severus took her by the shoulders and pulled her up then whispered, “Yes, I know, you’ll get use to it though.” He walked her to Dumbledore’s office.

Inside his office Dumbledore looked into Scarlet’s face. “Miss Snape, I must ask you to tell us what He showed you to do.” Scarlet still held her arm, “I’m already in trouble from giving that little hint to you , Dad! Just take me to Him!” Severus looked as if he was about to strangle her. “So kissing Potter was part of it?” “Fine. You both want me to die so I…” Scarlet fell to the floor; passed out.

In Scarlet’s mind while passed out

“You reached child! You weren’t to tell anyone!”

“I didn’t! I just told him I was on a mission…for all he knew it could have been to take advantage of Potter! I almost had him until you called for me!”

“You do not talk back to me or blame me for your mistakes! Now pursue your mission without slipping. Or I will make sure you do not return from your next meeting with me.”

Scarlet opened her eyes to see her father asleep in a chair with his head on her bed. She smiled slightly then began brushing his hair out of his face. “Scarlet?” A voice on her other side said softly. She turned her head and saw Harry, “Yes?” Harry took a deep breath, “Did you mean what you said? That you liked me?” Scarlet smiled slightly and nodded. Harry looked nervous suddenly as he looked into her eyes, “Where did you get that tattoo?” Scarlet looked at her arm that had been brushing her fathers hair. “Oh that. I got it during my rebel years in America. Stupid guy, he didn’t even ask for something that showed my age.”

“Oh, looks kool.” Harry smiled but was still looking nervous. “About that thing you said about Hogsmeade and tomorrow…um…do you want to go…with me I mean?” Scarlet smiled then took his hand, “I would love to.” Take him to the edge of the town, where no one will see you or him. After he his gone run into town, look for Lucius tell him in a frantic, loud voice that Harry was kidnapped by masked men that looked like Death Eaters. You know the rest. Severus slowly sat up and asked groggily, “Would love to what?”

Scarlet looked at her father and smirked, “Would love to pour a bucket of cold water on you.” Severus smiled and shook his head, “I thought I heard someone else talk-” His eyes landed on Harry. “Now, Daddy, don’t go and get all grumpy but Harry asked me out to Hogsmeade tomorrow…and…I said I would go.” Severus glared at her then said as calmly as he could muster, “You want to go on a date with Potter?” Scarlet smiled sweetly, “Yes, and I don’t care what you say only what He wants.” Scarlet hoped Harry would think she was talking about him. Incase he didn’t she looked at him then asked, “What do you want, Harry?”

“Well, I thought we could just walk around…would you mind if my friends come?” Harry asked. Scarlet closed her eyes then said, “Yes, I would mind. Do you have to go everywhere with them?” “Well…no, but -” Harry started. “Then it’s decided, they wont be with us.” Scarlet said in a tone that said that they would be no arguments. “Ok. Well I will go tell them then.” Harry stood up then with a quick glance at Severus he gave Scarlet a kiss on the cheek. After Harry was gone and out of the room Scarlet scowled then rubbed her cheek. “Damn now I need Lucius to kiss me there to get the filth off.” Severus rose his eyebrows at Scarlet, “You have something planned, don’t you?” Scarlet smirked, “Maybe.”

The next morning Scarlet got up, dressed in a black cloak and robes then walked to the Entrance Hall. She spotted Harry and started to him but stopped when she heard him and his friends talking about her.

“Come on, Harry, you must think it’s strange she wants to be alone with you.” Hermione said looking worried.

“Yeah.” Ron nodded.

“Look. Maybe she wants it to be just us the first time…she’ll warm up to you guys.” Harry said starting to sound angry.

Good he trusts you…it doesn’t matter how you do it but take his wand without his knowledge. Yes, milord. Scarlet walked over to Harry and his friends. “Hello, Harry.” Harry turned and faced her a smile on his face. “You feeling better?” Scarlet smiled then slid her arm around his waist; she rapped her hand around his wand as she said, “I feel perfect now that you’re with me.” Harry blushed as she moved away from him. Scarlet quickly put his wand in her robes inner pocket as she crossed her arms. Scarlet smirked inwardly as they left for Hogsmeade.

Scarlet took Harry’s hand as they walked around the little town. “Let’s go down here, Harry.” Scarlet said as they came to a dark alley everyone was avoiding. Perfect, my dear. “Err…ok…” Harry said slowly. Scarlet pouted, “Don’t you trust me?” Harry looked into her eyes then nodded and followed her into the dark alley. When they got into the deep in the dark alley there was a few pops. Someone grabbed Scarlet and pulled her away from the other two and Harry. “You have to look like you tried to save him, my dear.” said a rough voice. The person threw her to the ground then laughed at her as she got up.

“Your weak.” He sneered. Scarlet glared at him then he cut her cheek drawing blood. “Now go find Lucius and do your job.” Scarlet waited until they were gone then ran out of the alley looking around frantic. She spotted Lucius and ran to him collapsing into his arms. “They took him! They took Harry!” Scarlet screamed looking up at Lucius. He took her by the arms and began shaking her. “Who, child, who?” Scarlet looked around seeing that everyone was watching them. “I don’t know! They…they looked like Death Eaters! I…I tried to save him…I really did!” Lucius looked at the alley she had came out of then looked at Scarlet. “Go back to school. Quick and tell Dumbledore!” Scarlet nodded then ran past everyone to the school.

Scarlet was out of breath by the time she got to the school. “Scarlet?! What’s the rush?” A voice asked. She turned and saw her father and holding a stitch in her side said between gasps of breath, “I…need…to…see Dumbledore!” Severus rose an eyebrow. “Why?” Scarlet shot him a look that told him ‘I can’t tell’. “Alright, follow-” Severus began but was cut off by Dumbledore. “Ah, Severus. Miss Snape, I thought you were out with Mr. Potter?” Tears came to Scarlet’s eyes as she looked up at Dumbledore. “Three masked men came and two…two of them took Harry…the third attacked me because I…I tried to save Harry…after they left all I found was…was…” Scarlet got out Harry’s wand then showed it to Severus and Dumbledore. Dumbledore took Harry’s wand then Scarlet sunk to her knees. “I was so stupid! I wanted to explore and asked Harry to go into a dark alley.”

“So no one else can say otherwise of what you say?” Dumbledore asked sounding as if he didn‘t believe her. “Very convenient, I must say.” Severus glared at him. “Are you saying that my daughter is lying?” Scarlet stood up then fell back to her knees grasping her arm. Severus grabbed her then took her down to his office. “That’s what He wanted, wasn’t it?” Severus asked in a low growl. “Why do you care? You despise Potter! I know how you treat him.” Severus pushed Scarlet into his office then slammed the door behind him. Scarlet smirked, “What are you going to do, Father? Attack me? Torture me? There’s nothing you can do to me.”

“I see your not in pain anymore.” Severus said glaring at Scarlet. “I am. Just biting the bullet, so to speak.” Scarlet said sitting down and holding her arm. “You do know what He will do with Potter, don’t you?” Scarlet nodded, “Yes. Try to kill him…now I need to go and have a meeting with him.” Severus sighed then made a port key then counted to three and Scarlet was off.

Scarlet fell as she landed in front of Voldemort. “Stand up.” Scarlet stood then noticed Harry being held by two masked Death Eaters. Scarlet tried to ignore Harry as she waited for Him to either punish or praise her. Voldemort began circling Scarlet he stopped; standing in front of her after the fifth circle. “Show Potter here that you will do anything I say, by killing this Muggle child.” He waved his hand and two more masked Death Eaters drug in a little girl that looked about six.

Severus paced his office waiting for his daughter to return. After three hours Scarlet returns with Harry, Scarlet was shaking as she pushed Harry to the office door. “Scarlet I am going no where until you explain why you-” “Harry, please, I got you out of there but please don’t talk to me again.” Harry was about to retort when Severus snapped, “Potter, if she says to leave her alone then do so!” Harry left the office shaking his head. Scarlet sunk to her knees still shaking.

Severus stood beside Scarlet not sure what to do. “Dad?” Scarlet said quietly not moving. “Yes, Scarlet?” “I don’t want to be apart of Him anymore…He wanted me to kill a Muggle child…she looked no older then six…I knew that I had to do it…so…” She covered her face with her hands and cried bitterly. “Scarlet, how did you get to bring Potter back?” “I…I told Him that I would kill the kid if I got to kill Potter myself…but when He gave me Potter to kill I grabbed the port key.” Scarlet looked at her father. “I didn’t want to kill the kid but I had to, to save Potter.”

Severus bent over and pulled Scarlet up and held her to try to stop her from shaking. “It’s ok, Scarlet, we’ll talk to Dumbledore about getting you out and keeping you safe.” He said quietly holding her tightly. “What about Lucius?” Scarlet asked her voice muffled by his robes. “If he truly is your soul mate then it wont matter. But if you want I can bring him here and you can talk to him.” Severus said sitting her in a chair. “Do you want to talk to him and tell him why you can’t keep being a Death Eater?” Scarlet nodded and Severus went to the fireplace then called for Lucius.

“What is it, Severus?” Lucius said stepping out of the fireplace. “Scarlet needs to talk to you. I need to talk to Dumbledore.” Severus said leaving the room. Lucius looked at Scarlet and sat in a chair beside her. “I heard what you did, that was noble and stupid, something Potter or his friends would have done, it was nothing a Slytherin would have done.” Scarlet stood up and yelled, “I had to kill a kid! I doubt Potter or his ruddy friends would have done that! I had to look that little girl in the eyes while I killed her! Would you have killed someone to save me? Or would you be the Slytherin and let me die?”

“I would do anything and I mean anything to save you…but why Potter? What does he hold over you? The love I have for you? Or is it something more?” Lucius asked rather calmly. “How about trust? He still trusts me even after finding out I lied about my feelings towards him. Lucius, I can’t and wont kill another child. If I could have had it my way, I would have saved her as well. I want to know, Lucius, would you leave me or stay with me if I stopped doing His bidding, if I left Him, if I went into hiding until the war is over?” Scarlet asked hoping her father was right.

“If that’s your choice then so be it. Just don’t drag me into it, I thought you wanted to do this?” Lucius asked avoiding answering her question. “I said I would think about it! I never said I wanted to! And if I had known I would have to kill a little kid by hand I wouldn’t have even considered it!” Scarlet yelled and began to shake. Lucius’ eyes widened for a moment before he looked at her. “A…child?” He stood up and rapped his arms around her.

“If I had known it was to be a child you were to kill I would have never have asked you in the first place. Like I said before if that’s-” He started but was cut off by Scarlet pushing him away. “You didn’t answer my question! I need to know! My father gave me a charm that I had to cast upon myself. Soulis Mateis, I think it was called. After the charm was cast I fell into a deep sleep and had this dream…” Scarlet sighed then sat down then continued, “…in this dream we, you and I, were getting…err…” Scarlet blushed and whispered the last word. “…married.”


“Married? And what does this mean?” Lucius asked trying to keep the shock and surprise he felt from reaching his voice and face. “It…it means that we are soul mates…hence the name Soulis Mateis. My father said that if my dream is right and you are my soul mate that you would understand that I can’t handle staying as a Death Eater and that you would want to be with me no matter what.” Scarlet looked up at him still waiting for him to answer. “Please, Lucius, tell me the truth, will you leave or stay?”

Lucius stared at her his eyes never leaving hers. “I will stay with you, but I will not stop being a Death Eater.” Scarlet smiled, “Just stay alive, Lucius.” She stood up then walked to the fireplace and stared into it. “Do you know what I saw in that little girl?” She didn’t wait for an answer, “I saw fear, I saw things she had wanted to become, a dancer, someone like her mom. I saw her past I saw everything, Lucius! I almost cried for her.” She turned to Lucius tears stinging her eyes. “I was so close to begging Him to let her go. I wanted to save her and at that moment I didn’t care about Potter, only that little girl.”

Lucius strode over to Scarlet and took her by the shoulders. “Scarlet, she was a Muggle. Why do you even care for her?” “Did you not hear what I said? I saw her life! I saw her hopes! Her dreams! I saw all of that and I knew I would be taking that away! If I hadn’t seen that then I would stay as a Death Eater!” Scarlet yelled glaring at him. “I don’t even know why I was able to see that. To tell you the truth I was terrified.” Lucius smirked. “So your father didn’t think it would go to you.” He laughed bitterly then let go of Scarlet and walked to Severus’ desk. Scarlet watched as he wrote something then look at her. “That letter is for your father’s eyes only. Tell him that, will you?” Lucius walked over to Scarlet then kissed her cheek and whispered in her ear, “I love you, Scarlet.”

Before Scarlet could reply he had already gone through the fireplace. She sighed and sat in her fathers chair behind his desk. Her eyes scanned the room before falling on the letter Lucius had written. She sat there staring at it but not seeing the words. She looked up when she heard the door open. “Scarlet? Where’s Lucius?” Severus asked looking around. “Oh, he left, he wrote this letter,” She nodded her head at the letter, “he said it was for your eyes only…I wish I could convince him to stop being a Death Eater.” Scarlet said quietly. Severus narrowed his eyes reading the letter. “We’ve got to hide you…and soon. Until then stay close to me or Dumbledore or McGonagall, alright? And this is a warning, stay away from Draco.”

Scarlet nodded then said quietly, “You know, I think I almost lost it before I killed that little girl.” Severus looked at her, “What do you mean?” “I mean I saw into that kid!” Scarlet said gripping her fathers chair arms. She sighed then explained everything she had told Lucius not long ago. There was a long silence after she finished; Severus broke the silence. “What that was, was Legilimency. I never thought you would be born with it.” He leaned on his desk and said quietly, “Dumbledore has agreed to hide you, we was hoping to wait until you were done with this school year but that letter.” Severus paused taking a calming breath. “That letter said that the Dark Lord was furious about your traitorous act and he has put Lucius and some of his other best Death Eaters on the order to kill you on sight.”
