The next day, Luna and Hermione went to Dumbledore's office. Luna sat on the stool and the Sorting Hat was put on her head.
After a moment, the Hat called out, "GRYFFINDOR!" and Luna jumped off the stool and hugged her friend in happiness.
"You'll be with Ron more now." Hermione giggled.
"Shut up!" Luna said, blushing.
The girls walked to their first class, which was Herbology.

"Welcome students to your sixth year of Herbology. Throughout this term, we'll be working on something called a Heartsvayne Plant. Who can tell me what potion these are used for?" Professor Sprout asked.
It was a pretty stupid question for some people. The only hand that was up was Hermione's.
"As always," Professor Sprout said, smiling. "Miss Granger, what is your answer?"
"The Heartsvayne plant, is the main ingredient in a love potion. But there are some consequences. If you use too much, the potion could do some serious damage if someone drinks it. It could be so fatal that it might kill the consumer." Hermione explained, leaving her boyfriend and her friends bewildered.
"Excellent, fifty house points to Gryffindor." Professor Sprout said, proudly. She then gestured to a row of pots behind her. And in them were the Heartsvayne plants, whose blood-red leaves were delicately curled.
"As you can see, the leaves have not yet unfurled, which means the plant is still young. Therefore, any potion concocted at this point will not work properly." She gestured towards the empty pots. "Your job is to re-pot these plants, working in threes. Be careful not to get any root sap on your hands, though, as it may cause the skin to blister."

Sorry I haven't been posting as much but I've got a bad case of writer's block and I have another idea for a new fic. I'll update soon

Chapter 9: Potions with the fifth years

Draco Malfoy walked into the Great Hall laughing and smirking with his four friends, Vincent Crabbe, Pansy Parkinson, Blane Zian and Gregory Goyle.
"How Potter, Weasel and the Mudblood manage Potions I'll never know," smirked Draco loudly as they walked past the trio and Ron's younger sister. "Snape positively hates them!" Crabbe and Goyle guffawd loudly and Pansy shrieked with laughter.
"It's not that funny," Blane muttered. He was rather jealous of Draco, although they were best friends, Draco seemed to get the most attention.
"It seems we're in for a whole day with the Gryffs. First Double Potions and then Herbology, altogether that's four hours stuck with them. At least I'll be able to have a go at Potter in Potions," Draco said in a sneering way.
"What ever you say, Draco!" said Pansy. Draco smiled smugly at her, she loved Draco and he knew it. And she thought he loved her. How wrong she was.
When they arrived in the cold Dungeons Draco noticed that Crabbe and Goyle were paired up. He turned to Blane and was shocked to see him happily talking to Pansy! Well, I hope they're happy, Draco thought bitterly and took the empty seat by himself.
Snape walked in the dungeon as swift as a swallow and said icily,
"I am afraid, that we have, ah, visitors to our lesson today. Unfortunately, fifth-year class shall be joining us with our Potions work today, as Professor Dumbledore think it ... necessary for them to learn the importance of the Potion we shall be brewing today" he quickly used a more stern tone, "If the fifth-years would kindly take a seat"-he gestured around the empty chairs-"we shall continue with our lesson"
Draco stared around the room as the extra chairs slowly began to fill with people. Potter was with Granger, no surprise there, and Weasley was with his sister. A small, lost looking Gryffindor boy was left. The boy walked over to take the seat beside Draco, but for some reason Snape stopped him.
"No, no this will not do. If one Weasley is bad at Potions, who knows what to might do" said Snape, his lips beggining to curl. The Weasleys both went as red as their hair, when Snape said, "Miss Weasley would you kindly move to the seat beside Mr Malfoy, Mr Creevey your partner shall be the remaining Weasley"
Once everyone got into place Snape flicked his wand and the instruction for the days lesson appeared on the board.
"You may begin. Turn to page 397 in A Potion Master's Guide for reference"
Draco pulled his book out of his bag and looked up to see what page he was to turn to when he suddenly noticed how beautiful Ginny was. Her red hair was as bright and firey as a new flame and her lips ... looked so ... kissable. Draco shook his head. What am I thinking, he thought, I'm a Slytherin, a Malfoy ... I shouldn't be thinking things like that ...
"What?" Ginny snapped suddenly, "Have you got a problem?"
"No," replied Draco. He stopped. "As a matter of fact ... yes, I do!" he said regaining his confidence.
"Oh, really! And what's that?" Ginny shot back at him. Come on think of something, Draco thought desperately, you're Draco Malfoy!
"My problem ... is ... having to sit next to a Weasley like you!"
Well done, Draco.You blew it
"THEN TELL SNAPE TO MOVE YOU!" screamed Ginny furiously. How dare he say that to her, she didn't exactly want to sit next to him either!
"What is going on here?" came Snape's angry voice from the other side of the room.
"Draco's got a problem with sitting beside me, Professor. And quite frankly, I have a problem with sitting beside him too!" said Ginny angrily, sweeping her red hair from her face.
She's even beautiful when she's angry..., Draco thought.
"Is that so, Miss Weasley, Mr Malfoy? Well, I dare say I never expected this sort of thing from you Mr Malfoy, but I am afraid ten points will have to be taken from Slytherin for disrupting this class. And ten points shall also be taken from Gryffindor, Miss Weasley, for your innapropriate behaviour," replied Snape smoothly. Draco was furious. Ten points taken away because of what? Nothing whatsoever!
"Professor, we didn't have an argument we just simply ... I don't think you should take ten points from us," protested Draco.
"Are you saying, Mr Malfoy, that you disagree with the punishment I have given? Maybe a detention for each of you would be more appropriate? Meet me in my office tonight at six o' clock, no exuses"
Draco sat stunned at what his probably favourite Professor had just said to him. He shouldn't have opened his mouth. Try and look on the bright side of things, thought Draco, at least you get to spend time with that beautiful Weasley girl ...

The next few chapters are going to be mainly about Draco and Ginny's relationship in secret and it grows stronger. Hermione has her heart broken and might take disatrous actions

This is good! I always wanted to read a story from Hermione's point of view.

Chapter 10 -- Friends Deserting Draco

As I walked back to Slytherin Common Room with Blane, Crabbe and Goyle we thought about what an eventful Potions that we had just came from. Firstly, there was Ginny and I getting into trouble, and then Goyle knocking some of the unready Potion all over Crabbe's hand, causing his hand to sprout several green feelers on his arm and finger-tips, and, at the last minute I accidently knocked Ginny's Potion to the floor by mistake. I generously gave Ginny my potion instead, which she accepted, surprisingly. Maybe this was the start of a un-expected friendship???
Draco, what on earth are you saying? Friendship with a Weasley? Ridiculous. Malfoy's don't mix with Weasley's, and never will. We're just too different. In every way.
Blane nudged me out of my daydream.
"What?" I said impatiently, "Can't a guy think without getting interrupted?"
"Well I am so sorry," replied Blane, smiling slightly, "But redhead over there wants a word"
I whipped round and saw Ginny standing staring at me.
"Erm ... hi," I said unsurely. What do you want?"
"I just came to thank you for letting me use your potion ... but, I guess it was your fault I dropped it" she said as casually as she could.
"Well, yeah ... no, I mean I didn't mean to make you drop it I just ... I accidently knocked it out of your hand, thats all" I replied.
"What's up, Mally? You seem to be worrying for some reason," Ginny said cheekily.
"Why would I worry when I'm talking to you?" She smiled that wonderful smile she has and walked away. Wow, Draco, I thought, you just had a conversation with Ginny, and you didn't even argue with her!
I smiled at the look on Pansy's face.
"What? Am I not allowed to talk to her just because she's a Gryffindor?" I said easily.
"Draco, she's ... well not just a Gryffindor, she's a Weasley, you don't like her - do you?" Blane asked.
"Leave me Blane, I don't wish to speak to you right now. Crabbe? Goyle? You coming or not?"
They shook their heads and stayed by Blane's side! How could they do that to me? My own to best friends, and now they're away with Blane, the new Slytherin bad boy. Well that's fine. I don't need them. I went to the library by myself and opened my book. I would do my essay for Sprout without them then, seeing as that's the way they wanted to be. They weren't much help to start with anyway. I was nearly done when who walked in? No other than the Famous St Scarhead, Mudblood, Weasel and of course, Ginny. But they weren't talking to her. They were arguing.

Chapter 11 -- The Room of Requirement

I walked along the corridor with Harry, Ron and Hermione. They were all laughing about the Potions lesson and how they'd managed to please Snape. Then Ron opened his big mouth and said, "Ginny, why'd you have a fight with Malfoy? What did the git say to you?"
"Nothing," I muttered. The last thing I wanted was for my brother to start a fight with Malfoy.
"Go on, tell me. I'm your brother, I'll sort him out!"
I laughed, "Ron if you 'sorted out' everyone you said you would, you would be a serial killer! Which, may I add, you're not" Ron said nothing but his ears went red. I don't know why, but I felt pleasure in insulting my brother.
"Why won't you tell me what he said? Afraid I'll have a go at him?"
"Yes," I said, determined to not at Ron.
"Why, though?" questioned Ron again.
"Oh really you are stupid, Ron! It's obvious why she doesn't want you to fight him. She likes him!" said Hermione smiling slightly.
"No I do not ... Granger!" I yelled at her.
"Heh, who else calls you Granger, Mione?" Harry said, then he mouthed the word 'Malfoy' at her. I'm not stupid. I saw him. Ron and Hermione burst out laughing. How dare they!
Harry had never embarrassed me as much as this in my life! Just as we entered the library I felt more angry than ever.
"OH, SO IT'S AGAINST THE LAW TO CALL PEOPLE JUST BY THEIR SURNAME'S BECAUSE MALFOY DOES, IS IT?! F**K OFF POTTER I DON'T NEED YOUR FRIENDSHIP ANYMORE!!!" I screamed at him. No longer had the words came out my mouth when I realised who was in the library. No other than Draco Malfoy.
I felt my face burn red. I had completely humiliated myself. I turned back to Harry and realised I had embarrassed him as well as myself. He looked hurt. I was about to apologise when Hermione muttered,
"Come on, Harry ... Ron. Just leave her alone. She clearly doesn't want to talk to us right now."
And at that, the trio left. I sat down at a table by myself and through my bag on the floor. I felt everyone's eyes on me. Especially Draco Malfoy's. I felt tears well up in my eyes.

I couldn't stop staring at her after hearing what she had said. They must have been talking about me. Well Harry bloody well Potter can talk about me all he likes, little does he know I have worse things to say about him.
I wonder what that entire argument had been about. Well, me obviously, but what about me? Maybe she had finally noticed the way I look at her ... or maybe she's realised she likes me too? I'm getting too hopeful now. Too hopeful?! What am I saying? What the hell's got into you, Draco? Liking a Weasley? I'll be in the loony ward beside Potter if I'm not too careful.
Ginny keeps on looking back at me, I'd best stop staring. I dipped my quill in the ink and continued writing Sprout's essay.
I wrote the last sentence of my essay and put it away. It had been done quite quickly and rushed, but still it was something. I didn't need more house points taken off for not doing my homework. I was returning the book to its proper place on the shelf when I saw Ginny was crying. I picked up my bag but instead of heading for the door I walked over and sat down beside Ginny.
"Erm ... what's wrong, Weasley?" I asked her softly. I felt stupid. I knew what was wrong. So did the rest of the library.
"Nothing, go away Malfoy" she murmured, then continued sobbing.
"Look," I said, trying to get her to talk to me, "I'm only trying to help. In case you haven't noticed I'm the only one who is. But if you want me to go and leave you alone, no problem, I will" I turned around and headed toward's the door when,
"Malfoy! Hey, MALFOY! Wait!"
I turned around to see Ginny again. Her eyes were puffy and her face was red from crying, but she still looked pretty all the same.
"Can I talk to you for a while?"
I nodded. I followed Ginny out of the library and into a room which I recognised as the Room of Requirement

Chapter 12 -- Ginny's Secret

The room was empty except from a small loveseat in the corner. Ginny walked over and sat down on it, Draco followed. They sat in silence for a couple of minutes when finally Draco said,

"Well ... what is it you brought me here for?"

Ginny said nothing for a moment or so, then finally she replied,
"I ... I don't know what's been happening lately. I really don't know why I'm telling you this but if you're going to start up your smirking sh*t after I do tell you, that is if I do, then you may as well leave now."
Draco nodded, but remained where he was. He wanted to know why Ginny had brought him here.

"Draco ... the thing is ... I - I think I like you," she said. Oh, what the hell, she then thought once she saw the look on Draco's face, I've made a prat of myself now.
Draco smirked. Then he realised, he shouldn't have. Ginny looked hurt. She probably thinks I don't take her seriously, thought Draco.

"Ginny, I -"

"So you think this is funny, do you?! YOU THINK THIS IS A JOKE?!" she yelled.

"No, not at all it's just I - "

"I knew I shouldn't have told you! Now I look like an idiot!" she said, standing up. She made to go to the door but Draco caught her wrist.

"GET OFF ME!" she screamed. He let go of her in shock of being screamed at like
that and watched her leave. Great going, Draco you f**king idiot!, he thought angrily, why do I do everything wrong?
He walked out of the Room of Requirement with his head down. May as well go back to the Common Room, he thought gloomily.
He reached the stretch of bare, damp stone wall and said the password (serpent sortia) and walked into the Slytherin Common Room.
He wasn't the only one there. Pansy Parkinson and her friend, Millicent Bulstrode were sitting in the armchairs by the corner, Graham Montague and his friends were chatting among themselves, and by the fire stood Blane, Crabbe and Goyle, all of them wearing a smirk on their face.
Draco ignored them and was about to go to the boys' dormitory when Pansy said,

"Oh, Draco! Haven't you and that Weasley got that detention with Professor Snape tonight?" She laughed when she saw the look on Draco's face.

"What time is it?" he asked her quickly. She glanced at her watch.

"Quarter past six," she replied, grinning broadly.

"Sh*t!" muttered Draco, he ran out of the Common Room as fast as he could, and made his way down to the Dungeons. He stopped outside Snape's office door, hesitated a bit and then knocked on it.

"Come in," came Snape's voice from inside. Draco turned the handle and stepped inside the dark room.
Ginny was already there and standing looking rather bored, she had her arms folded and gave Draco a stern look as he entered.

"You're late," Professor Snape said sleekly.

"Yes, I know ... I ... completely forgot the er ... time, sir," replied Draco quietly.

"Five points from Slytherin," said Snape coldly. "You and Miss Weasley's task for tonight is to clean out the classroom, completely" he added firmly. Draco nodded.
What an easy detention, Draco thought, he had his wand in his pocket and he was sure he and Ginny could work out a spell to clean the room in a flash!
Snape noticed the comfortable look on Draco's face and said,
"Ahh ... and of course, no magic whatsoever."
Draco gave Snape a look of deep dislike and watched his lips curl into a smile.

"Is there any problems with the stated task?"
Draco and Ginny shook their heads gloomily.

"Well, I am sure you are aware where your classroom is. Leave your wands here. You may collect them at quarter past eight, if you are done. Go," said Snape.
Draco and Ginny placed their wands on Professor Snape's desk and turned to walk out the room. He opened the classroom door and walked in, Ginny followed.

"Well," said Ginny dully, "lets get started."

Little did they know, an eventful detention was arising.

Chapter 13 -- Detention

"Yeah," said Draco. "Started. Right."
Ginny walked over to the cupboard and opened it to find cleaning equipment. Draco sat down at Snape's desk.
"I don't see why we should do this," he stated. "It's the sort of things the house-elfs do."
Ginny nodded in agreement. Instead of taking anything out, she shut the cupboard doors again and walked over to a table. She sat down on it and sighed.
"I'm not doing this," she said firmly.

"Well someone has to. And don't think for a minute that someone will be me," Draco added.

"I thought you would say that ... typical Malfoy," Ginny muttered. Draco didn't hear her and started looking through Snape's Potions' things.

"Look at all the rubbish he has, and he expects us to clean it out? Sure we will," smirked Draco. Ginny said nothing. She knew that they would be in big trouble if the classroom hadn't been cleaned, but if Malfoy didn't do it, then neither would she. She broke the silence by asking,
"How are we going to do all this? We should've asked Snape if we could use our wands ..."

"He never would've let us anyway," said Draco, standing up and pacing round the room. "Why don't you get started, then?"

"Get started doing what?" asked Ginny.

"Cleaning this place out obviously," Draco sneered. The cheek of him! He expected her to do all this herself? Would she ****!

"I'll start when you start, Draco. Not before you nor after you," Ginny answered.

"Well, if that's the case there's no cleaning going to be done in here then is there?"

"I suppose not."

"Well then we may as well go," said Draco.

"Well then I will!" said Ginny, and at that she stood up and started to walk towards the door.

"Wait, you can't just leave!" said Draco grabbing her arm. She turned around and glared at him. She looks so beautiful, Draco thought yet again.
Draco didn't know that she was thinking the same thing as he was. Draco softened his grip on her arm. Ginny moved closer to him. To her he felt so warm and strong. To him she felt so fragile and soft.
Before he realised what he was doing, Draco pulled Ginny closer to him and kissed her on the lips. He felt a tingling sensation. Her lips were so soft and warm against his, he felt as though he never wanted to stop kissing this girl.
Suddenly Ginny realised that she had been right. She did love Draco, and it was becoming clearer he felt the same way about her. Or was this just his way of making her stay?
They broke apart, and grinned at each other. I can't believe I actually kissed Draco Malfoy!, Ginny thought wildly.
Draco grabbed Ginny's hand and pulled her over to the middle of the Potions classroom. As he looked into her eyes, Draco realised he loved Ginny Weasley. He pulled her close and kissed her passionately. He had never felt as though he wanted to kiss someone so badly in his life. He started unbuttoning her school shirt when she put her hand on his hand to stop him. There was a look of fear in her eyes.
"I can hear someone coming," she whispered. If Snape found them they would both be in serious trouble. They could be facing months of detention. Ginny thought quickly and grabbed a bucket and started to fill it up with water.
Draco started to file Snape's papers away when he walked into the room.
"I see you have not made any progress," he said icily as he walked past them, examining the room. "What exactly have you been doing for the past hour?"

"Erm ... well, sir, we ... um ..." muttered Draco.

"We couldn't find the erm ... cleaning stuff," Ginny said quickly.

"Did you bother to look?" Snape asked them, though it sounded like more of a statement than a question.

"Yes, Professor, we just didn't realise it was in the cupboard," Ginny replied.

"You better get a move on then," said Snape. "With your wands you may actually complete your detention," he added then throwing Draco and Ginny their wands.
They cleaned the room in a couple of minutes, being watched by Professor Snape the whole time, said goodnight and walked out the door.
As they proceeded out the dungeons and through the Great Hall they couldn't stop thinking about what had happened during that detention. They had enjoyed every bit of it, particularly the risk of getting caught.
Draco pushed a note into Ginny's hand before saying goonight and going to the Slytherin Tower.
As Ginny walked to the portrait of the Fat Lady she opened the note and read,
Meet me tommorow in the Great Hall at 5 o' clock. Draco.
Ginny's heart skipped a beat and she said the password to the Gryffindor Common Room with more glee than ever.
She would never forget that detention.

Chapter 14- Hermione's pain

Hermione lay on her bed in the Girls' dormitory, her father's and enemies' voices going through her mind. She looked up towards the ceiling, then Crookshanks jumped up on to her bed purring loudly and rubbed his head against her side. She found herself uncnciously stroking the ginger fur ball, and his purring soothed her and she pushed her enemies' voices to the back of her mind, but she couldn't get rid of her father's voice.

She got up, took her eagle-feather quill and a piece of parchment and wrote in an untidy scawl,

To whomever reads this, I'm gone, goodbye, unless you cared.

Hemione put the parchment on top of her Hogwarts: A History Part 2 which was given to her for a Christmas present from Harry. She walked into the bathroom, filled the bathtub with ice-cold water, took out a penknife from her robes and cut her neck. Then, she made several angry cuts on both her wrists and stepped into the bath. She passed out and the blood oozed quickly from her cuts.

Harry had just walked into the Common Room after meeting Ginny in the corridors from her detention. She had told him everything about from the confession to the kiss, and it left Harry completely dumbfounded.

"You have to promise not to tell Ron." she whispered to him.

Harry nodded, confirming he wouldn't tell.

"Hey mate, want a game of wizard's chess?" Ron asked as Harry approached him. He nodded.

Harry, so far, had won Ron 3 times out of 17 games and Ron had won 14.

Then Crookshanks appeared in the Common Room, unGodfully mewing at Harry and Ron.

"What's crookshanks doing do-" Ron began but was cut off by a high-pitched scream. "Ginny!"

Draco, who had heard Ginny, burst through the Common Room quickly and up to where Ginny was slumped against the wall crying.

Harry emerged from the door with Crookshanks and walked over to the desk where Hermione's note lay.

He dropped it quickly as though it had scalded him and turned a pale white. He then ran into the bathroom and saw Hermione lying fully-clothed and unconscious in ice-cold water, the water tainted by her own blood.

Harry quickly got her out the tub, her clothes making her feel heavier than she usually was.

"Malfoy, go and tell Ron what happened and go and get help!" harry shouted.

Draco held Ginny close to him and walked donstairs to Ron.

"R-ron ... H-hermione's ... k-kill h-herself..." Ginny choked out, then she buried her face in Draco's neck and cried.

Ron ran from the Common Room to Dumbledore's office, then to the Hospital wing.

Draco led Ginny back upstairs to the bathroom. Then Ron emerged 5 minutes later with Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall and Madame Pomfrey.

Madame Pomfrey tried everything, but Hermione wouldn't breathe.

Harry was lying down next to Hermione, holding her by the waist.

"Mr Potter, I've tried everything I can." Madame Pomfrey told him sadly.

"N-no! Sh-she's still a-alive! Y-you said so yourself!" Harry said.

"We were a few moments too late. Her cuts are healed, but she's dead." she whispered.

"N-no! I-it j-just n-needs to be done the M-Muggle way!" Harry shot back and began to use CPR on Hermione.

"Harry, she's gone." Ginny said.

Harry was too stubborn and within seconds, he heard Hermione's gasps of breath.

A week passed by and Hermione finally awoke to find Ginny, Draco, Harry and Ron all crowded around her. Harry was asleep in the most uncomfortable postition on the most uncomfortable chair in the entire Hospitall wing and Ginny was asleep in Draco's arms.

Giny shifted in Draco's arms and slowly opened her eyes.

"H-hermione?" she whispered.

Hermione looked towards Ginny and smiled. She tryed to sit up but her whole body seared with pain.

"Miss Weasley, take your brother and Mr Potter to your Common Room." Professor McGonagall told her softly as she entered the Hospital Wing. Ginny obeyed and levitated Harry out followed by Ron. "Mr Malfoy, Please go to your Common Room."

Draco slowly awoke. "Wha-? O-oh. Ok, Professor." He stood up slowly and walked out of the Hospital Wing.

"Miss Granger, why did you do this?"
