Hey y'all! It's Katie...again. I'm writing another Dramione fic! It's going to be awesome! OK, we all know how the books go, but so far, the seventh has yet to be printed. I'm changing some things around, so don't be too alarmed! So I'm going to take the age-old story of Hermione as Head Girl, but Harry as Head Boy. They're quite happy with this arrangement, until Harry has to leave on his Horcrux hunt. And who better to take his place then...Draco Malfoy!

Hermione was going back to Hogwarts for her final year; just the thought of having to face Draco Malfoy again. It was bad enough that he was the cause of Dumbledore's death, but the fact that she dated him secretly for two years was almost unbearable. No one had known, not even Harry. Hermione had managed to forget Draco though, and now she was happily dating Harry Potter.

She had three hours until she had to board the Hogwarts Express, and she decided to go for a walk. Walking through the park by her house always cleared her mind. But not today.

She was walking by her favorite rest stop when she heard a rustling in the bushes. She approached them cautiously. You could never be too careful nowadays.

"Oh!" She yelped, and a fuzzy brown owl popped out of the bush. Hermione relaxed. "Bunny, what are you doing down there?" She picked up the tiny creature. Bunny hooted indignantly.

"What have you got there?" Bunny had a note tied to it's leg. She opened it and began to read.

Hermione,
I found your owl by my house, hooting like crazy. I let it in, and it flew to my parchment and quills, and I thought to write you a letter. This is it. I miss you terribly, and I would do anything to have you back. Please understand and forgive me.

"Why that little....oh!" Hermione exclaimed with rage, and crumpled the letter up. The letter had hurt her badly. Tears welled up, and she took Bunny and ran home. She slammed the door shut behind her.

"Hermione? Is that you dear?" Her mother called from the living room.

"Yes mother, I was just going upstairs to make sure that I packed Bunny's toys." Hermione lied.

"All right dear..." Her mother said. Her father grunted.

"Stupid name for an owl....[i]Bunny[/I[...." Hermione heard papers rustle, and knew her dad was reading the paper. She ran into her room and cried.

Draco watched the tiny owl fly away. His heart was heavy, ever since Hermione broke them up. He loved her so much....he couldn't bear every second they were apart.

He walked over to his owl cage, sitting on the desk. He opened the secret compartment, and lifted out a small box. He sat on his bed, and caressed the diamond ring that lay inside. His memory turned...

"Hermione....please say you'll stay with me..."

Hermione bit her lip, but her hands gently pried themselves from Draco's grasp. Draco started to cry, for the first time in his life. Hermione teared up as well.

"Draco...you know I can't....it's been so much fun...but-"

"In two years, it won't matter anymore...please Hermione! I love you!"

Hermione reached into her pocket, and took out a small velvet box. Draco's breathing increased. Hermione placed it in his hand.

"Maybe if things had been different, Love..." And like that, she was gone...

Draco threw the ring across the room, into the owl cage. Narcissus, his owl, leapt and hooted, insulted. Draco stroked the big owl.

"Sorry boy..." He took the ring out and put it back in the box. This wasn't the first time he had done this, and Narcissus understood. He always did. And this wasn't the first time Draco was crying...over Hermione.

So here's one to tide you over!

Ahhhh....The Hogwarts Express. Hermione stood in front of her compartment, filled with nostalgia. She rememberd her years at Hogwarts, and it gave her a funny jolt to realize that she wasn't going to board this train in September again. Shaking her head, she boarded.

"Hey! Hermione!" Hermione looked down the rows of compartments to see her favorite mop of red hair. Ginny Weasly bounded out of the door and helped Hermione with her bags.

"Hey Ginny....is Harry-"

"Yes yes, Harry's inside...jeez, don't you guys think of anything but each other?"

Hermione helped Ginny lug her suitcase into the compartment, and said hi to Ron and Harry. She sat next to Harry, who immediately put his arm around her. Ron's ears turned slightly red.

"Hey Hermione." Ron said a little stiffly. Ginny rolled her eyes, and elbowed Ron. "Ouch!"

"So....what's going on between you two anyway?" Ginny asked.

"Well...I'm Head Girl!" Hermione said proudly, flaunting her Badge. Harry exclaimed.

"Hermione! I'm Head Boy!"

"You're kidding me!" Harry took out his badge and showed it to Hermione. She squealed and kissed him. Ginny pretended to vomit and Ron's ears turned even redder....if possible.

"Oh God....get a ROOM!" Ginny rasped.

"Oh please....with you and Dean snogging in the corridors all the time....at least this is a private compartment!" Harry laughed. Hermione snuggled against Harry. Having him for a boyfriend was to wonderful. And yet....there was something missing in her life....something blonde....

Draco sat in his compartment, trying to partake in the conversation around him. But his focus kept sliding back to a certain bushy brunette...

"Hey Malfoy!" Draco jerked up. It was McLinnon.

"What do you want McLinnon?"

"Well, you were zoning out man. You not thinking about Pansy, are you?"

"When do I ever think of that sl*t?" Draco grumbled.

"About now....since she's-"

"DRACIKINS!" Draco winced as Pansy Parkinson flew into the compartment and sat next to him. He grunted.

"Hey Pansy...."

"Oh Draco! I missed you. Why didn't you call me? Or send me an owl? You know I LOVE to hear from you!" Pansy whined. Draco rolled his eyes.

It was going to be a long train ride....

OK, that should be good....

Wait. You live in New York! Sweet, I'm in the state-next-door. (litterally) Vermont...(I call it the Anti-State...because we trade black & white cows with Cuba...and Americans aren't aloud in Cuba! HA!)

LOL any time someone says no pressure....the pressure is ON! Yes, I live in NY, and I just got a nice tan/burn in good old Florida...so I'm gonna put something up, because time is LIMITED!

Hermione and Harry held hands as they walked into the Great Hall. They found a seat right in the middle of the table, and saved a seat for Ron and Kit, Ron's new girlfriend*. Hermione was glad Ron had found someone else, it had released alot of tension, but not all of it.

"Hey Harry! Congrats on making Head Boy!" Dean Thomas called to him from across the table.

"Thanks Dean. Where's Ginny?" Harry answered back. Dean shrugged.

"Who knows? But I think she's with Ron and Kit-oh, there she is."

Dean collected Ginny, who was walking in with Ron and Kit. Kit was a sixth year Ravenclaw with fiery red hair, which made her a favorite at the Weasly household. She was treated like a daughter and a sister there, and often helped the twins with their experiments. Ron steered Kit towards her table, and kissed her goodbye. Ron then joined Harry and Hermione, who were now wearing their badges.

Professor McGonagal stood up from the chair that used to be Dumbledore's, and tapped her wineglass. The Great Hall settled down. McGonagal took a breath.

"You all know I can't make a speech like Dumbledore could, "She began, tearing up already, "but I would like to wish you all the best of luck this year, for so many with Final Exams, and those who are new...welcome."

She sat down shakily, and the Great Hall was filled with respectful applause. Professor Sprout called out the list for the old Sorting Hat, and Gryffindor aquired 15 new Gryffindors. The Feast began.

After they had all eaten, Hermione jabbed Harry in the side.

"Harry! We've got to see McGonagal!'

'Why?" Harry asked. He was starting to fall asleep.

"Because we're Head Boy and Girl! We need to know....stuff!" Hermione dragged Harry up to the Head Table. McGonagal regarded them with a little bit of her old face.

"Ah....Miss Granger and Mr. Potter....our new Head Boy and Girl...."

McGonagal beckoned to them to follow her. She led them throught the castle, explaining some things, showing them passages....until they came to an empty wall.

"Metamorphmagus." McGonagal said, and the wall became a door. She turned to them.

"This shall be your quarters for the remainder of this year. I'll let you two get some sleep. Good night."

"Oh Harry, this is going to be so much fun! Harry?"

Harry had fallen asleep standing up.

Draco tried desperately to get Pansy away from him, but she refused to leave his side. God, she was like a leech sometimes. And she just...wouldn't...stop...TALKING! Throughout McGonagal's speech, dinner...non-stop prattling!

"...and I told her that you belonged to me, and that stupid git just wouldn't believe me, why didn't she believe me Dracikins?"

"I-" Draco started to say.

"-Well, it doesn't matter, because we're together Dracikins, and nothing is going to-"

Finally! Everybody was leaving! Draco got up in a hurry and stood next to McLinnon. McLinnon was trying not to smile.

"Shut up McLinnon." Draco growled, Pansy just hanging off his arm.

"Wasn't gonna. Hey, isn't that Hermione Granger? Wow, she looks different." McLinnon's attention was diverted. Draco sighed.

"McLinnon, stop drooling over that little mudblood. She isn't worth your time."

But deep inside, Draco was wondering if Hermione thought the same way...about him?

Poor Draco...don;t worry, things are going to look up soon! Thanks for being so patient! Next post in ?? days!
