“How nice of you to join me,” Tara grumbled as she heard Draco come in the room.
She stood up and faced Draco, fire gleaming in her eyes. “How dare you tell Julius about that! Now I’m sure everyone else in this whole damn school know! Draco, you vowed to never say anything about this ever again! You vowed to keep it in the past!”
“He has a right to know,” Draco said.
“No he doesn’t!,” Tara growled. “He doesn’t need to know anything about my past!”
“I wanted him to know,” Draco replied. “He needed to know not to get close to that filthy son of Donaldson’s.”
Tara had to truly restrain herself from slapping Draco in the face. “WELL I DIDN’T WANT HIM TO KNOW! NO ONE EVER WANTS ANYTHING THAT EMBARASSING TOLD TO THEIR CHILD! YOU NEED TO LAY OFF OF JEREMY! HE ISN’T LAMARK! JEREMY ISN’T THE ONE WHO RAPED ME! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE CRUEL TO AN INNOCENT CHILD! HE DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!”
Draco stopped and studied Tara’s face for a moment, his eyes lingering on her eyes that were overcome with rage and anger. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, she was right. She had always been right about everything.
Tara looked up at Draco, and tears filled her eyes. She turned away from him, tears falling down her cheeks.
“I want you to treat him well more than I’ve ever wanted anything,” she whispered.
Draco watched her cry, biting his bottom lip. He hated it when she cried. Nothing made him more sad.
“Please don’t cry,” Draco whispered. “You know I hate it when you cry…”
He pulled her into him and whipped her tears away gently with his thumb.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “God Tara, please don’t cry…”
“Well then please don’t be mean to Jeremy,” Tara whimpered.

“Hey Jeremy,” Sherry said gently, taking a seat next to him.
Richie sat down next to her and she put her arm around Jeremy’s shoulder.
“Aww come on Jeremy! Don’t cry. I promise everything is going to get better. I just know it,” Sherry said.
“We heard some Slytherin’s saying that Professor Malfoy and Professor Malfoy were heard having a row in their bedrooms. They said they could hear Mrs. Malfoy screaming at Mr. Malfoy,” Richie said. “They said she said something about ‘you need to lay off of Jeremy’. Maybe he is gonna be nice to you now…”
Jeremy looked away. “That will most likely never happen.”
“You never know. I bet Mr. Malfoy is scared of Mrs. Malfoy,” Richie sniggered.
Sherry smiled. “I think it’s great that Mrs. Malfoy and Isabella really care about you. Maybe they can somehow change Julius’ and Mr. Malfoy’s mind.”
“Maybe,” Jeremy whispered. “Let’s hope so…”

“Go on,” Tara muttered, pushing Draco into the bathroom she heard Jeremy was in.
Draco rubbed the back of his neck and looked around nervously, hoping Jeremy wasn’t there. But when his eyes landed on Jeremy, he cursed in his mind.
Tara peeked her head in from the doorway and Draco turned and threw her a look. She threw him back another look and he turned, nervously walking toward Jeremy.
“Um, hey kid, are you okay?,” he asked.
Jeremy’s head shot up and he saw Draco. He looked around to make sure Draco was talking to him and not someone else. “Um…yes?”
“Well then why are you in here?,” Draco asked.
“Oh yeah um…yeah,” Jeremy stuttered and he quickly got up.
He went to walk past Draco but Draco stuck his arm out, blocking Jeremy’s path. He looked back at Tara one more time and she shot him that look again. He rolled his eyes and faced Jeremy again. “Um…how about we put the past behind us, shall we?”
Jeremy looked at Draco as if he were crazy. “Does this mean you’re not gonna be mean to me anymore?”
“Don’t push your luck,” Draco said. “But I will try to put forth an effort to be civil.”
“Does this mean Julius is going to be nice as well?,” Jeremy asked.
“Like I said before, don’t push your luck.” | |

"Civil? He said he'd try to be civil to you? Talkabout childish!" Richie exploded in the Gryffindor Common Room. Sherry waved a hand telling him to lower his voice. The Common Room was staring at him. Jeremy hid his face in his hands.
"That's what he said. He'll try and be more 'civil' towards me." Jeremy said to him. "Lower your voice Richie. Geez. And sit down for Christ's sake." Richie plopped back donw on the chair. Sherry held Jeremy's hand.
"Jerry, I wouldn't trust that whole family."
"Why not?" Jeremy looked up at her. "Isabella and Tara-"
"Feel pity for you. That's not...love, Jerry. Pity is worse than love. I' d rather feel hatred off a person than pity." Sherry said quietly. Jeremy shrugged his shoulders.
"Sometimes, I'd just want to feel anything at all. Do you think he was serious?"
"Don't trust him." Richie said immediately. Sherry rolled her eyes. "I'm serious. They've been nasty to you your entire life. Now, all of a sudden, because of one little blow-up, they're going to be nice to you and treat you like a member of the family?"
"I don't know-"
"Don't trust them as far as you can throw them. And that's not very far. You're scrawny."
"Thanks Richie." Jeremy said dryly. "Thanks a bunch."
"Listen, let's just forget about it." Sherry said quickly, looking at the two of them. "Let's talk about something else. Like...um..."
"Hey Sherry." A boy walked up to them and sat down. He had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. His Slytherin robes stood out from the sea of red and gold. Richie raised an eyebrow. Jeremy looked amused.
"Hey Alex, what's up? How did you get in here?" Sherry looked around for another Slytherin. Alex laughed.
"I'm a Slytherin. I can go wherever I want to. How have you been? Have you considered my offer yet?"
"No. I'll talk about it later." Sherry said, looking slightly embarassed. Richie grew red.
"Listen. who the hell are you?"
"My name's Alex Lombardo. I am a third year Slytherin." Alex said very importantly.
"And what do you plan on doing with our friend?" Richie was getting loud again. Just then, the bell rang.
"Dinner! Let's get out of here!" Sherry jumped up and ran out of the portrait hole.

"What was that about, Sher?" Jeremy asked her quietly. Sherry ignored him and kept shovelling food in her mouth. "C'mon, I'm serious!"
"So am I! Leave me alone about him!" Sherry snapped at him. She looked over at his table, her eyes meeting Alex's. He smiled and winked. She looked away, flushing.
"Why are you looking at her?" Julius asked after he saw Alex. "Do you know who she is?"
"All I know is that she's young, pretty, and smart. Her blood has nothing to do with anything." Alex said. "And...she has something I want."
"What's that?" Alex grinned and twitched his eyebrows. "Oh yeah.....that." He laughed. "So, how are you and Jeremy doing?"
"Dad wants me to be nice to him. Yeah, like that'll ever happen." Julius glared at his cousin.
"You know, he's not that bad. I've tried talking to him. He's pretty witty when he wants to be." Alex remarked as he dug into his chicken cutlet.
"Yeah right. That creep? Maybe in your dreams!"
"If your dad said to, you have too. He could give you detention." Alex reminded him. Julius groaned.
"Don't I know it."

“Why exactly are we here again, father?,” Julius asked his dad as he plopped down in a leather chair.
Tara had changed her classroom into a lounge room with just a lazy flick of her wand. The normal room with the stone walls was now covered in lush greens, the hard floors now changed to soft shag carpet. It had a warm, cozy feel to it, the same feel the Malfoy Manor now held. But what was more important was why the family was here.
“We’re having a family meeting. Your mother wanted to,” Draco said, taking the seat next to his son.
Isabella was already curled up in the chair next to where Draco had just sat down. Jeremy was sitting next to Isabella, a scared expression on his face. It made Julius smirk. But that smirk was whipped away instantly when Draco hit him on the back of the head. Isabella let out a small laugh she tried to stiffen into a cough.
Tara walked up in front of the four, her hands on her hips. Her hair was pulled back, which meant she was in strictly business mode.
“Draco get up here,” she demanded.
Draco got up and sat down on the table which Tara had been standing next to. She let out a sigh.
“This has got to come to an end,” Tara said, her eyes set on Jeremy and Julius.
The three children looked back and fourth between each other and their parents.
“What do you mean, mother?,” Isabella asked.
“This bickering between Julius and Jeremy! Julius, you need to realize that whether or not you like it, Jeremy is part of this family. And he isn’t going anywhere. I’m so sick of you always jumping down his throat. Its ridiculous and I’m sick of it,” Tara said. “It ends here. Tonight.”
“As much as I respect your morals, mother,” Julius said, standing up. “I’d rather it not end.”
“Julius, watch what you say to your mother,” Draco spat.
Isabella looked back and forth between Jeremy and Julius. Julius’s face was full completely of rage, while Jeremy’s was full of sadness, as if he really DID want to get along with Julius, but was sad that it wasn’t happening. She couldn’t stand it anymore.
“God Julius you ruin every damn thing!,” Isabella screamed, tears falling from her cheeks as she turned and ran out of the room, leaving a defenseless Jeremy, puzzled Draco, tested Tara and raging Julius.
She ran as fast as her long legs would carry her. She flung herself out of the school doors down the large hill until she was out of sight. She ran all the way into the Dark Forest, wanting to be away from everyone as best as she could. | |

"Bella!" Jeremy called after her. Tears formed in his eyes as he looked around the room. His eyes fell on Julius. "Julius, I know you hate me, but believe me when I say I hate you more!" And he ran after Isabella.
"Jeremy! You stay away from my sister!" Julius shouted after him, and raced after him. Tara looked at Draco coldly.
"You know, all of this could have been avoided if yuo had just accepted Jerry in the first place!"
"You're pinning this whole thing on me?" Draco pointed a finger at himself in shock.
"Who else is there?" Tara burst into tears and stumbled towards the bedroom. Draco shook his head and went after her.

Isabella raced along, not caring where she was going. Before long, the bright sunshine had faded and she was under a canopy of trees. Isabella sat under a large sycamore tree and put her head in her lap. Her sobs racked her body. With a large sniff, she came back to Earth after a few moments.
"Boys...why must they ruin everything?" She sobbed into her shirt sleeve. "Jerry's such a nice boy!"
"Is he now?" A voice said next to her. Isabella jumped, only to realize it was only a spider. A Spider?!
"Agh!" Isabella cried out, and shuffled on her butt a few feet away. "Who are you?"
"Just a spider, my girl. And I heard your problem. Boy troubles?" The spider crept closer. Isabella tensed. "I'm not going to hurt you!"
"Y-yes. My brother Julius and...well, our stepbrother. They don't like each other. And all Julius does is torment poor Jeremy. It's not fair!" Isabella said woefully. The spider crept closer and put a leg around her back.
"I'm dreadfully sorry dear. Is there anything I can do?" Isabella shook her head.
"Not unless you can make Jeremy and Julius get along."
"Well...I can't do that, but I know how to put this from your mind." The spider said slyly. Isabella looked at it.
"How?"
"Like this." A stinger protruded from the spider's belly and was thrusted into Isabella's neck. Bella gasped, then slumped forward. The spider then started to weave it's thread.

"Bella! BELLA!" Jeremy cried out, but with no avail. It seemed as if Bella had disappeared from the Grounds.
"Hey, you! Stay away from MY SISTER!" Julius's voice was heard over the Grounds, and close behind him, too.
"I'm more concerned about her than what you think right now, Julius!" Jeremy called behind him, and raced into the Forbiddon Forest, Julius was at his heels.
