When Voldemort removed his wand, effectively 'emasculating' him in the wizarding world, rendering him useless and powerless... what did Lucius think about it and how did this change his outlook on life? His allegiance? Could he have changed sides if the war had gone on??

oooo, first.
I think he was too proud for that. I also think that the order wouldn't have accepted help from him, they were probably unaware that Voldemort had taken (an broken) Lucius' wand. They would have seen no reason to trust him.
Also Lucius does believe in Voldemorts cause. He's given so much for the advance of the dark side, he wouldn't have wanted that all to go to waste.

dont get me wrong, i love lucius, but i do think that takinig his wand away would have been his worst thing. without his wand, he is powerless, effectivly. He sets a lot in store by magical ability, the wand is his protector and attacker, without it, he cant do much.
I think he also would have felt very belittled. As Sav!!XD said, he has worked hard to get to voldys inner circle, and taking away his wand would have probably felt the equivilant to him being rejected, demoted all the way back to a new death eater who is only needed for one thing, and then to be thrown away.

I don't really remember why Voldemort took Lucius' wand. Though, he might have put up a front: 'anything for the Dark Lord' kind of thing. But, I think that would have bothered him more than he let on. Lucius really didn't believe in the Dark Lord's cause, he was just in his group because that made him superior to other wizards. So, if the Dark Lord's side wasn't winning the war and it was plain, Lucius would have definitely switched sides, as they did in the end.

Having his wand taken away, however, had to have changed his perspective on things. But, he was not one to prove a point to the Dark Lord. He wouldn't have done anything to jeopardize his position with the Death Eaters. Regardless of his personal feelings, he wouldn't have slipped up in front of Voldemort.
