First off, I just want to let everyone know that we are badly in need of discussion topics for the club. If I could ask the hugest favor that you all try and think up some topics for us and post them in the Graveyard Topic Register Thread. Please remember that discussions are the heart of all fan clubs and we really are desperate for some right now. Thanks so much, guys!
Here's a great topic that was suggested by our member Ginevra P -
The younger generation of Wizards & Witches: The Slytherins who left Hogwarts before the war took place, those that fled. Would they want revenge on their parents death? Are they still feeling hatred towards the Mudbloods and Blood Traitors? Do they still believe in purifying the wizarding race? Are they going to build their own society of Death Eaters? Are they going to be looking for a new master?

Oh, yeah.. I'm actually thinking about that.. What if they build a new dark union, a new kind of Voldemort. So the story goes on..

I think that maybe they wanted revenge for the deaths of their parents but they didn't hate the muggle borns as much as their parents, the only reason most of them hated muggle borns was because they were scared that if they didn't then Lord Voldermort and the death eaters would kill them so now that they are no more there is no need for it, plus the fact that the Harry, Ron and Hermione helped them all get out of the school before the big battle instead of doing what would have been best and holding them hostage might have help them realise that everyone is the same.
Hope that made sence.

Hmm... well I think that there could be two different points, but I do agree with Liam there. I don't think they would exactly want revenge for their parents' deaths and it's true that most of them only hated the Muggles and Muggle Borns because their parents told them to and the Dark Lord said so otherwise he would kill them for being 'disloyal' to him. Revenge is a possibility. But some might just be glad that the hold the Dark Lord had on them was over and gone with. So there's really a lot of views about the war that the younger Slytherins could have. It just really depends on how they were brought up and their personality.

I'm thinking that those that fled the school, were probably 'soft' believers at best. And we can't assume that all Slytherins were believers/followers of the that belief system as it was pushed by Voldemort. Look at Slughorn. He's was a Slytherin in his youth and he didn't believe in the Pureblood cast system. He was self-promoting and sneaky, but not out to get muggleborns and half-bloods eradicated. He worked to get into the limelight of those that had talent and the benefits he could derive from them.
That being said, of those that did believe fervently but escaped persecution or death, some might want to form some kind of group that would meet secretly. If nothing else, to have a place to speak of their disdain and hatred of all that isn't of their 'kind'. Would they plot revenge? Depends who killed their loved ones... if Voldie did it, or one of his inner circle did it under his orders, I would venture that any revenge would be on a personal level, not against muggleborns or half-bloods as a group. Just the individual (or his direct family) might get targeted.
If the death was credited to a ministry agent or a member of the Order, we might suppose that a less targeted vengeance might occur. But that's a big if, since we don't know how the Ministry handle the aftermath of the war and how many 'baddies' were taken in, killed or pardoned. (Or how their kin might have been treated afterward) PS: I left a few suggestions for future discussions in the Graveyard Topic Register Thread. Hope it helps.

I think a major thing was that only a few of the slytherins had death eaters for parents. I think it was only Crab, Goyle, Malfoy, Nott and somebody else that Harry heard the names of in the graveyard. And so all the ones that helped fight with the deatheaters would have been captured or killed and those who fled woul have had no quarell with the 'good' side.

I started commenting on this weeks ago, and now I forget my points.
Those kids whose parents died at the hands of the Order definitely would want revenge, those like Zabini and such. Although they were young, they had the hate for pure bloods and blood traitors in them already. I don't think that they would build their own army, but if an army did appear and were looking for followers, they could definitely count them in.
People like the Malfoys wouldn't need to have a fight with anyone, because they lost nothing. Also, the others that had nothing to do with the war would just go on with their lives as usual.
I would hope that as time goes by, the hatred for mudbloods would cease. I think that the newer generation of Hogwarts students would be less concerned about those issues.
