If Voldermort had survived the killer curse in the last book what would his best punishment be Azkaban prison, hanged or how about his soul being sucked out by the dementors.

The entire wizarding world would have wanted him to be given the Dementors' kiss. But, I think that Harry, so much like Dumbledore, would have wanted Riddle to be sent to prison. Maybe not Azkaban, but a more secured place, maybe more like Nurmengard.

I think that would have been the best choice, that they build a new prison, with advance protections so that he couldn't escape.

With a guy like Voldemort, a Dementor's kiss would have been the only solution. Guys like that don't repent or suddenly see the errors of their ways. They are hell bent on wreaking havoc and trying to possess what is not rightfully theirs.

I have to agree with mmesnape on that one, people like that never feel remorse or change or become rehabilitated. And Azkaban wouldn't have held him for long. But I don't think a Demetors kiss would have done anything. I mean he split his soul up 7 times...was there anything left for them to suck out?

^ i agree with bothof you! I think that Dumbledore wouldn't have the heart to put away Tom Riddle who he tried to help since he was a child. And i think the Dementor's Kiss would have no effect on Voldemort. His soul was already so mangeled

i agree too...that dumbledore would have wanted voldemort to be in ptrison..but if a dementors kiss was administrated to a person who had his soul split then i guess it would make no effect as had his other souls....i.e,if his horcryxes had been there...when they are destroyed he would be a normal person and a dementors kiss would have the same effects on his as a normal wizard....

I think he should have been hanged as he deserved it.

If he had survived the killing curse then hanging wouldn't have worked really, any way I don't think the wizards had capital punishment.
I also agree with quite a few of the people above that the dementors kis wouldn't have had much effect as he had already destroyed himself so much that he was barely the same person anyway. There wouldn't have been much difference.
But then no prison could of held him, he's just too powerfull for that.
I've just completely contradicted myself and came to no decision at all. This was a very productive comment.

I think there was still something to 'kiss' out of him. Contrary to most muggles and wizards, his most treasured memories are our worst nightmares. What little bit of soul was left, protected these memories and would have been removed with a kiss. So what made him happy, and thus would attract a Dementor, would chill us to the bone. Not sure I made myself clear.... does that make sense?
