Hogwarts RPG Name: Fairuza Balke Second Year | Buddha knows Avatar Tutorial 101. Summer In The DE Fanclub It’s that time of year, where the Butterflies and Bumblebees come out to play. Not missing a trick when it presents itself, I have decided to create a tutorial of how to create a summer style avatar. I have tried to make this as simple as possible, using effects that most photoshop versions will have as I myself am working on a software not commonly used. I look forward to seeing your new avatars! Step 1 - Collect the images you would like to use. I myself have chose a nice sunburst effect brush that would really lighten a picture. Everybody loves a good Voldemort avatar! ^ Turning these two into : Step 2 - Resize your image to fit the 100 x 100 height constraints Select the area you would like to use in your avatar, copy and paste into a new tab. Resize if you have selected more than you desire. Step 3 - Now that you have your resized picture : You’re now ready to paste it onto the base image. I suggest an Opacity level of 50% to begin with. Voila! Step 4 - Correct your colour! Most photoshop software should have the colour correct feature. If it doesn’t, don’t worry about it. The image above works quite well without the use of it. Step 5 - Adjust the colour taste. Most photoshops should allow you to adjust the colour of your image in accordance with what your tastes are, and the general feel of the image. For a summery effect, I suggests yellows and faint oranges. The tool used is sometimes referred to as Gamma Correction. To work with the lettering I plan to add, I have chosen a Dark Orange. Step 6 - Add text If you wish to add that extra something to your avatar, text is always a good idea. But be remember, this can make or break an avatar. Go for something that works well with the piece, not simply something in a font and colour you love. Remember, simplicity is everything! And voila! Your first completed avatar!
