I was going to go for a more Graveyard-y title, like Death Notices, but it was too morbid.

Anyway, here we will post announcements about the Club's activities. If you have anything you want to post, PM myself or Sissa and we will do it for you. Only Officers and Fan Club Mods may post here.

1. Welcome to our new forum!

After 1 month and 12 days, we finally managed to get our own forum! Congratulations, Death Eaters (for that's what we are), and use the space well. Check out our rules before you wander about elsewhere.

You've probably seen the announcement that Touzy made regarding the new fanclub rules, but I'll just quote them here in case you havent.

The Three Broomsticks has updated its rules to implement two new procedures for the Fan Clubs. The first is a new discussion system, which we would like you to ensure the correct implementation within your respective forums. The Second is we decided to limit the number of games per forum to four only. We have Zonko’s for all games imaginable and thus contain spam within each forum. Clubs have till May of this year to wrap up all excess games.

So far, our forum only has 3 games, but I suggest we dont start any new ones until we've completed the first 3. And you heard the lady about the discussion rules, no SS inappropriate topics, please. If you dont remember the rules, check them again. I have a link in my siggy for anyone who cant remember where they are

The darkliest of the Dark Lords is making his debut on the final Harry Potter cover! If you were lulcky enough to see The Today Show this morning in the US, then you, like I, say it! Humor your president. She's getting rather frustrated. Currently, we have 2 competitions, an event and open submissions for TGG. Currently no one's participated in either of the competitions, the event (granted I just posted it yesterday so I'll cut you some slack there) and I only have one submission for TGG. If you guys want this club to be the best, you're going to have to start participating in more activities that we have. It seems that all anyone wants to do in here is chat and play games. Last I checked, there's TP and Zonko's for all of that. Granted, I don't mind any of it AS LONG AS OTHER THREADS REMAIN ACTIVE. What's the point in having a fan club when none of the members really care about keeping the club, as a whole, active? Sure the games are DE themed but it's not enough and I'm at my wit's end. I can't force anyone to participate in anything but what I can do is start locking down the games threads. I've said it all along. I will not have my fan club become another forum where people come explicitly to play games. So, from this point on, each week that there is a lack in participation everywhere else (Bee and Imi, please pm me when people enter your contests), I will be shutting down a game. So if, next Monday, no one's entered any of the competitions, the event, submitted to the TGG, given their input to one of the topics, submitted an idea for an activity or submitted an idea for a topic, you will lose one of the games.

THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO IN THIS FAN CLUB YET NO ONE'S UTILIZING IT! Don't let it sink into a black hole and don't come at me and say 'well, I already gave my opinion in one of the topics.' That's all you got? One isn't enough. Why not give an opinion in another topic and enter a contest as well? Why can't you do more than one thing? It'll take everyone in this club, not just me and Nabs, to keep it going. So help us out. Participate in things other than the chat and games. That's not what my club is about.

I'd like to thank everyone that responded to my pleas for more club participation from members. It's really helped. /sarcasm

Congratulations. You've rendered a game locked. Yeah, I know I said Monday but you know what? The game ended anyway, I've been getting nothing but empty promises from people and, well, I'm the president and I can. I will not be opening up 101 Reasons again until more people participate.

I'm fed up. I really am. Is there a valid reason why you can't take 30 seconds to cast a vote in one of our contests? You say you will yet you don't. Does it take that much more effort? How about I just do nothing for this place? I just leave it be, we have no paper, no contests, no nothing and then we'll see what happens. Will you guys moan then saying that we never do anything? Well, how about actually getting involved when there are things to do instead of having the officers waste their time and efforts.

I'm so glad I worked so hard to get the DEFC going again, get that and the LVFC clubs merged and then get us our own forum. Can someone remind me why I did all that again?

I hearby announce the end of negativity! Yes, yes, I know, I know I wasn't exactly Happy Harry for a while there but being negative really cramped my happy streak and I didn't like it. And if one person's negative, then it's going to have a domino effect and I don't want that. So from henceforth, no more criticisms, complaining (yes, that applies to myself), snide attitudes or the like. I've over it and I want us all to move on, one of the reasons why I created the thread The Funnies! If you have anything funny that's Death Eater or Voldemort related, then post it in there! If you don't, check out what we already have. It's a hoot! So no more nastiness. Henceforth (cool word!) I shall delete posts that are just downright negative. We don't need them anymore (including any that I may post when I get particularly moody). So don't worry. Be happy!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the link to The Graveyard Gazette (sissa.inthemoonlight.net) is no longer working. There was some ill feelings between myself and the girl that hosted the site and she deleted it purely out of vindication as opposed to having a valid reason to get rid of it. Needless to say, I'll either have to find another host or just make the graphics and post them here. Since I do have my own little TGG section now, it really shouldn't be a problem posting them here. The only reason I have the external site was because I didn't really have anywhere to post them (I felt bad posting them in Grimmauld because it would stretch the forum). But I'll see.

Let's do something different than the monotonous avatars and signatures we usually have. What I would like you guys to do is create a wanted poster for your favourite Death Eater, with a brief description of their crimes, how long they have been missing ect.

Dimensions: No bigger than 300 wide and 600 long.

Officer Position Open

Since our lovely Imi has stepped down, we now have an officer's position open, that of Activities Officer. If you want an idea of just what this position entails, take a look in the thread titled Graveyard Games and see what Imi's done thus far. Basically you will be responsible for coordinating activities like fanfic contests, small events, and the like, for the club. If you're interested, pm me with your answers to these questions--

Why should you be chosen to be Activities Coordinator?
What could you offer The Graveyard by the way of activities?
Would you be committed to the position? And if not, would you willingly forfeit it if something else came up that would render you incapable of handling the position?
Would the Dark Lord like your activities (reminder: he HATES pin the tail/wig/button, etc on anything)?

As redundant as that may sound, believe it or not the saying "position open until filled" is littered amongst job searches. So, send in those applications as we have an open officer position. New Officer Position Open!


You heard right. Another officer position has been created. For what, you ask? Well, do you think you know everything there is to know about the Death Eaters, Lord Voldemort and the Dark Arts? Do you often find yourself correcting others' ghastly mistakes when misquoting the Dark Lord or getting a dastardly fact wrong? Then you may just be the perfect person for the job. We are currently looking for a resident know-it-all, a Graveyard Guru. Your job will be, well, the know-it-all of the club. If we're stuck on a particular tidbit of information regarding our favorite darknesses, you will be the one we turn to. You will correct our mistakes, provide wonderous information and be the Dark Lordiest brain of them all.

You think you can handle it? Well, answer the twelve questions below and we'll have to see. You'll probably say the questions are hard. Well duh! That's the point, isn't it? I'm not concerned about Lucius Malfoy's haircolor or any other obvious pieces of information. I want to know which of you know the minutiae, the stuff that's so often overlooked. That is the true test. So, answer the questions and pm them to me. I'll grade them and send you your results. Obviously, the person with the highest score will get the position. I'll leave this open for two weeks (entrant-reliant) so it will close on June 20. Current officers are welcome to submit their answers just to see how they did but, of course, they are not eligible for the new officer position.

9. Usually, magic is neither bad nor good but there is some magic, namely curses, that are just evil through and through. However, just casting something like a curse does not categorize it as being part of the Dark Arts. What does categorize it as such?

10. What makes Dark Magic expressly Dark Magic?

11. How does a poisonous candle work?

12. According to JK Rowling, how do Dementors materialize and where?

Do not post your answers anywhere in The Graveyard. They are to be pmed to me (SlytherinSissa) for grading. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask (via pm, of course). I'm not sure how many people have gone to the Graveyard Games thread and read about my contest so I am going to post it here. I really hope you guys decide to enter!!!! You've got two more weeks to go!

Hi, everyone, I am here as your new Activities Officer with my very first contest for all of you. Here is the premise -

You are a Death Eater. Your house has just been raided and, unfortunately, there was plenty of incriminating evidence found at the scene, enough evidence to ruin your good reputation and perhaps even have you sent to Azkaban. How are you going to explain your way out of this mess? Don't forget, Lucius Malfoy once found himself in this kind of situation, and he managed to talk his way out of it. Can you? Show me what you've got!

What I would like you to do is write a believable explanation for your behavior, really sell it and convince me of your innocence. The winning entry will be cleared of all charges and the whole incident will be forgotten but the losers? Well, we know what will happen to them!

Okay, people, I'll be waiting! You have until June 30 to PM your entries to me, then we can decide!

Fanclub Fanfic

The month of July is just around the corner and we need a little help to kick off the celebration. It’s time to put on your Thinking Cap and gather your black rimmed Harry Potter glasses for a month of fun and writing. Being part of the Snitchseeker Fan Clubs, the Admins and Mods have come up with a bit of fun with spectacular roles for all Fan Club members to enjoy and take part in.

As you know, Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final novel from the Harry Potter series. What if you, the members, could write the final book the way you see it or the way you would like it to end? Well, the time has come to hear your side of the story as told by your favorite Fan Club character in ‘Fanclub Fanfic’.

What we need from the Fan Clubs right now is for you, as a team, to agree on a topic or storyline for your character. You may participate in more than one Fan Club, it is all up to you, just as long as you have fun. Start a thread within the characters forum or have a discussion in the thread and have everyone post their thoughts and contributions to the story, to see where the novel would start and end.

New Fan Club Activity!


Take a read and let me know what you think. To be fair, July is a bad month for me. What with me being eyeball deep in my own writing and my impending move to California (3000 miles from where I currently live), I just don't have the time to organize and follow through something like this. But I don't want to impede you guys! If you're interested in doing this, please, let me know! I'll appoint someone to head it up, create a thread for you guys to work in and let you go to town! I know participation for activities in this club is rather low but I'd like to turn that around. So if you're interested (even if it's just a few people to start, I'll get the ball rolling and people can join at will), let me know either via pm or just post your interest in the chat thread (and by interested I mean willing to follow it through to the end). I'll see it there. This activity, like all others in The Graveyard, is open to all members to participate so lets show them what our side of the story looks like!
