Okay, we have seen some pictures of the champions competing in the tasks, right? Well, it looks like they are wearing muggle clothes! I was hoping they would wear their robes for the tasks, like they do in the books. This makes me very upset. It kind of brings down the "wizardingness" of the movie and it looks kind of like a "muggleness" type of movie. What do you guys think of what they are wearing?

yay first post but anyway i argee they should be wareing robes but i guess it whould have cost a nice chunk of change.

Robes are too impractical for the tasks. While running around, the actors would've fallen over them and possibly broken bones. They wouldn't have been practical in canon either.
The characters do wear muggles clothes in the books lots of the time.
They're not proper muggle clothes like you or I wear; they're wizards interpretations of muggle clothes.
There is such a thing as being too picky.

Oh, exactly! People need to remember that wearing robes during some of these scenes would've been difficult. Unfortunately the movie can't be 100% like the book (though sometimes it shouldn't because then what would be the point of reading the book?)
That said, I think they're great. I love how they're all different and shows off the school pride. I think they're perfect.

^ Me too. I especially love the crests/coats of arms.
The robes in the trials wouldn't have worked in the books either. It's just because it was on paper that Jo got away with it. Visually, robes would never work.

Yeah, I guess I am too picky. Oh well. I can't help it!
Now that I think about it, I can't believe that they wore robes in COS when they were in the Chamber of Secrets. I always think that Harry is going to trip over his robes when he is running away from the Basilisk.
I guess you guys have a point. But it would still be cool if they could have found a way to wear the robes. oh well.

That's pretty much what they are... task uniforms that represent their school/house.
That said, I wonder if they'll sell those. Harry's is fantastic! I love it.

the costumes have always been great...no different for the tournament.
I must say...i can't wait to see Mr.Weasley in some MUGGLE clothes though..hehehe!
