Fourth | Rate the Movie! Ok those who had seen the movie can post here their thoughts, comments reactions here about the Harry Potter & Goblet of Fire movie!
Their might be some spoilers for those who hadn't seen the movie yet so read at your own risk!
Personally i would rate it A-! it's really good, fantastic & awesome visual effects...it's better than the previous 3! the pacing of the story is a bit fast at the beginning & i think the whole movie itself! i suggest you shouldn't read the book maybe 3 mons. before the movie so you wouldn't spot the differences...
here are my opinions on diff. scenes:SPOILERS ahead.. beware!
> QWC is a bit disappointing, it's really short they didnt included the match!
i cant stop grinning at 1st seeing the magnificent stadium but then it
already over..hmpf...
> Arrival of foreign wizard schools @ Hogwarts was really impressive! speaking
about showing off!
> DADA class was scary...imagine yourself in the class!
> the Weasley twins had more exposure! & they're funnier than ever!Whhooo!
> Rita Skeeter scenes are enough in the movie...when she pops out b4 1st
task is the best!
> Sirius' facts during his appearance is enough i think...
> im impressd that it showd how the whole school hated Harry after the announcement of champion...the Potter Stinks badges!
> Ferret scene was so funny, i tot Tom Felton will only have small part in the movie but there you go...
> 1st task was so suspensing!! they added dragon chase that wasn't mentiond in the book...
> Unexpected Task scenes are the best in the movie!!! from Ron receiving his dress robes, the dance lessons, Hagrid & Madam Maxime, & when Ron askd Fred(?) who's his date while Snape keeps hitting Ron & Harry's head! really hilarious!!!
> Yule ball for me was teen-ish, reminds me of prom...love is in the air not to mention jealousy! Rupert got the jealousy part! & Emma act amazingly!
Stan danced like a bloody pumpkin! Hahaha! & is that the Weird Sisters? i tot theyre girls...stupid me! & their music rockS!!
> Dan's only 16 but his bod ws toned well in the bath scene..
> 2nd task obeyed the book but its very worthy & cool...ASCENDIO!
> Crouch drop dead quickly whether Imperiused or not ,no madness just a tiny suspicion to Moody...
> Pensieve scenes facts are compressed but they're enough 4 the movie...
> 3rd task was different im impressed, they didnt include the monsters! its a Lose Urself Maze!
> Portkey, Spell, Death Eater scenes in the graveyard was gud!
> Dan acted so good during the graveyard scene esp. when Ralph touchd his scar...that's really nice!
> Ralph portrayed Voldemort really well, Voldemort's transformation was so creepy! the evilness of expressions & movemnts...id hope his voice is more scary..
> Priori Incantatem was a bit emotional when Harry saw his parents
> Most Emotional scene wud be when Harry brought Ced's body & he's traumatized, Fleur screamed, Cho crying, then Amos crying over Ced's body, was so devastating for me, it made me cry... i hope the audiences at the stands screamd too for it will brought out the terror & loss that somebody died, not to mention Voldemort's back...
> Veritaserum scenes was short since they eliminate characters...Winky,Bertha Jorkins...
> ders no Parting of the Ways!, that's bit annoying bcoz it a vital part for the OotP movie, the minister not believing harry's account & the revival of OotP should be there!, though some parts it showd that Cornelius & Dumbledore had some argument after Crouch's death...
> Dumbledore's last words abt Ced was sad, & the last scenes interpreted that no matter our race, language differs we could still unite & increase the bond of friendships among us.. that's good...
All in all the movie was near perfect..though i didnt appreciate it the 1st time i watchd but when i repeatd it 3 more times(& watchd the whole day)... i realized that they @ least obeyd the book
the only thing-for me-it contribute for the nxt movie wud be the scenes that Dumbledore seems to foresee his "mistakes" when he told Harry how sorry he is for a terrible year, telling him that dark time are ahead & when he's debating with Minerva & Snape if they shud continue the TWT, after the Dark mark's appearance then Harry's name coming out of the goblet...@ least it showd how terrible fate favors Harry in moments time..
wait.. it didn't mention in the movie why the Priori Incantatem happnd, just only the effects...its a bit confusing for those who hadnt read the books...

Lilly-Ann Newbert | Definately 1 of my favorite parts was the "use hermione as messanger" scene..When she had to say all those names and then "please don't make me say it again, Hagrids looking for you." and she's not an owl for sure...Ron and Harry act like 2nd graders using other people to talk for them when in a fight....!! |

| been waiting for this thread since last week! QWC was disappointing. I was really looking forward for it. DADA. yup! scary. Ron's reaction's to the spider was funny though. Rita Skeeter. Rocks! totally! 1st task. the added scene was incredible! the dragon chasing Harry 'round the school and everyone in the stadium was quiet. probably thinking that Harry didnt make it. Ferret scene! lol! very funny! who would have thought that the ferret Malfoy would do that! Unexpected Task. dance lessons was really funny! especially the part when Prof. McGonagall ask Ron to dance with her. Neville practicin' the dance in their dorm. Yule Ball! reminds me of Prom night as well. the R/Hr argument was perfect! Emma acted really good! Hagrid and Madam Maxime... hmm... 2nd Task yup! yup! just like in the book. It was really eerie. Mr. Crouch? I was looking forward to Harry and Krum's conversatoion before that! But the added R/Hr moment was perfect. it's so natural. 3rd task. cool! did you see Krum's eyes. looked like he was possessed more like. Voldie nothing like I imagined it and I mean that in a good way! Ralph did a incredible job portraying it. Priori Incantatem was a bit fast but it followed what was in the book. Last scenes. a bit fast. and I wasnt expecting Moody's trunk to be that big!! the ending got a feel-good thing in it. everything was so calm. Ron got a bonus kiss as well!
all in all. It was the best HP movie yet!
though I was expecting more Krum scene.
Neville got a bigger part in it which is good seeing as what his role in the Order of the Phoenix is.

Graduated | best harry potter movie SO FAR
I was really disappointed on the QWC (no match! there should be!) and the 3rd task (boring task, no blast-ended skewts, no sphinx)
I understand why they cut Bagman, Bertha, Dobby, Winky and Percy.
I love the yule ball! and Snape hitting Harry and Ron |

| I think I'll like GOF but it has been changed alot from the story. Some changes are good and some a re bad. I still think GOF won't be the best movie. We must wait till OOTP and HBP and movie 7 to say which is the best. |

| I've only seen the movie once (will definitely see it again soon), and here what I think of it so far:
- Good that they cut out the Dursleys (would have been funny, but it would have lengthened the already lengthy running time)
- Like most of you, it would have been better if they added more to the QWC sequence. I mean, the set was amazing...you haven't gotten over how fantastic it looks then they cut the scene. If they added just 10-20 more seconds of it, that would have made me happier
- The Three Tasks were all awesome. At first I thought it was too much having the dragon and Harry fly around the castle grounds, but the effects and the action were all exciting, so that was good. Loved the underwater scene as well..the merpeople kinda reminded me of the mermaids (?) from 2003's Peter Pan. Although I was looking for sphinx and other foul creatures in the maze, it worked having them cut out, no need to prolong the 3rd task sequence.
- The Yule Ball: Harry and Cedric in dress robes. Ron's poorly-concealed jealousy. Krum dancing with Hermione. Neville looking real good...Need I say more?
Acting wise, Dan really improved a lot. I thought that Emma was a bit...I dunno, there were some scenes that I found a bit awkward or wanting, but generally she was okay. Couldn't really judge Katie, she had a few lines, but nothing too impressive. and Matthew Lewis! Finally they gave him more to do, he was fab. And look out for the twins...but don't drool too much, ok?
The new actors also did a fantastic job, especially loved David Tennant as Barty Jr.
It was a good thing trimming down the plot, focusing on the Tournament. All in all a great movie, so stop reading the reviews and go watch! |

| it was the best movie EVER! i really enjoyed it. even my mom who hasn't read the books or even seen any of the movies liked it (don't ask me why i took her to the film.. i really don't know. i think i wasn't really thinking at that moment. more like.. drooling over rupert in the movie poster. lol)
so..
the QWC-way too short. i was like "yay this is the thing i've been waiting for for months" and then poof! and i'm like "whoa wait a minute"
the tasks- well, lots of action and everything, but like, in the maze thingy, don't you think it was more like physical tension rather than mental tension(like in the books, eg. the sphinx).. i dunno it was like spectacular and huge.. but not really challenging other than the hugeness. the dragon was good and the underwater-the best between the tasks. "i killed harry potter" omg that was hilarious!!
yule ball-the best scene in the movie. i loved how neville danced more than harry and ron and i fell in love with the trio's performances during that fight between ron and hermione-you know, the big one which was after the ball.. spectacular.
voldemort-way better than what i had expected. ralph fiennes was awesome. he's def. the bestest. and his face.. omg, his face.. *shivers*
cedric's death-i actually cried. he was the best dead person i've ever seen in any movie. i mean, my heart broke into pieces when i saw him like that, harry crying all over his body.. and mr diggory crying next to him.. oh, poor, poor cedric
and the details were wonderful.. the subtle jokes and the obvious ones of course the twins were obviously given more chance and that kinda made the movie funnier.
to summarize,
BESTEST HP MOVIE EVER!! why are you still here reading these reviews? run to the closest theatre, grab a package of pop corn and watch it!! five deserved stars!! ***** |

| I posted over on the one to give your reviews but thought I would add..I missed Sirius Black the most...I think this is the best HP movie to date..hope the next one stays more true to the book. Again, if you loved the book you will think this one is way too choppy and way too rushed. However I did vote for this as the best movie. |

| BEST MOVIE EVER.
Yeah the Weasly Twins were HILARIOUS!! it was good they got more exposure.
Hermione barely had any "happy or smiling" scenes, which was actually the point cause she was always worried about Harry or something. But it didn't make her look pretty. but thats not the point is it? =/
Hermione and Viktor Krum? ... SO CUTE.
Ron getting jealous and all the drama with Hermione crying? ...STELLAR!
I'm sorry for all Hermione and Ron fans... but I thought there was much more chemistry between Harry and Hermione in that movie.
Rita Skeeter was GREAT!
The 1st task, amazing. 2nd task, a bit eerie and suspense... and the 3rd task was the one that got me REALLY watching closely. It was the most thrilling part. Especially when they got into the portkey... Cedric didn't even want to leave. If I were him and Harry said to go... I'D GO!
Fleur was actually good.
Quidditch World Cup was... hmm... short, they should have shown more scenes! pfft!
but it was ALL GREAT! AMAZING! I nearly cried when Cedric died... It happened all so fast... Voldemort looked scary, but a tad bit funny with his whole "i-have-no-nose-dont-ask-why" thing going on... |

| Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is an EXTREMELY great movie.
Voldemort was BRILLIANT!
The tasks were all really Cool.
WAY better than SS, COS, and POA!
The Quidditch World Cup raid was AWESOME!
"The Dark Lord shall rise again!"
There were a lot of things cut from the book like:
Dobby
Winky
S.P.E.W.
Ludo Bagman
Bertha Jorkins
Blast Ended Skrewts
Sphinx
Bellatrix Lestrange and Rhodolphus Lestrange and Rabastan Lestrange (in the pensieve scene.)
Barty Crouch Sr. does not get tran sfigured into a bone and get burued in the movie.
They cut out Rita Skeeter's turning into a beetle.
Dursleys
Molly Weasley
Percy Weasley
I could go on and on.
But in the end.......
IT IS THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER!!!!
(despite minor inconsistencies with the book.) |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Serilda Katherine Calligahan Fifth | I loved it; the film was brilliant.
Ron and the twins (who finally got some more screen time) were deligtfully hysterical ;Harry was very well muscled and matured in this film compared to the last one ( ); Hermione was gorgeous and very very good in both character and reactions (Yule Ball); Moaning Myrtle was rather fiesty and yet funny; Cedric was very endearing and very handsome and I nearly cried when he died; Krum and Fleur were both good though they sadly didn't have that much to do other than look good and be romantic when needed; the Professors were all very good: McGonagall was awesome, Snape was both funny and creepy, Dumbledore ( ), Maxine was huge yet fun to watch, Hagrid was fine as usual, Karkaroff was very creepy/ mysterious and Flitwig was funny; Peter was a sneak (that's a good thing in his case); Mad Eye was fabulous; Rita was perfect; Draco and Lucius were both very very creepy/mean/obnoxious; Neville...I wanted to glomp him during the DA class; Ginny had more screen time, which is a nice change and a good way for her to make a bigger entrance in the next one; and Ralph Fiennes was perfect for the part: I was simply petrified by him. All and all I was very impressed indeed! BRAVO EFFECTS PEOPLE!
Did anyone notice, just curious, a blonde woman sitting on, I believe, the right side of the stands of the 1st task; she looked remarkably like JK Rowling! Am I just imagining thins or...what? |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Tegan Seventh Year | OMG THAT WAS THE GREATEST EVER! I was a little disappointed that they didn't show more of the Quidditch World Cup though...they rushed through it so fast, and they didn't include Winky or anything...
When Cedric died...I've gotta confess, I almost cried. It wouldn't have been that bad, but then when his father started yelling it was just so emotional...
It was awesome! I'd totally go again and again and again...it's well worth the enormous line to get tickets... |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ganymede Craft Seventh | I personally enjoyed the motion picture very much to a degree not yet known to the happy scale. I was a bit sad at not seeing Winky.. will we see her drunk in the next movie? I hope we do.
I wanted to see more quidditch world cup. I noticed no coins, I did see Ron had the Ominiculars.. but I wished they let us look through them. I wanted to see that dude in his nightgown saying "He liked a good breeze 'round his privates.." Or whatever he says at the QWC. I think the Death Eaters at the cup was rather nice. They reminded me of other scary organizations that we must put up with in the Muggle World. The only thing I thought was dumb was the people behind me with the 3 and 5 year olds screaming they wanted to go home and that "Harry NOOOOOOO I don't wanna be now home!" It sorta made the ending less frightening. *smacks the parents for bringing toddlers to a pg13* Oh well, other than that I saw it twice in one day.. got to eat at the Mall, and am currently giggling at the fact that Ron's robes were perfect. Vivienne G. Beauvais Magical Law Enforcement | GOF is hands-down, the best of the HP films to date. I was hoping for more QWC (weren't we all?) and the twins were hilarious! One little mistake bothered me (and it's too late to fix this one) - the Patil twins are shown to both be in Gryffindor! |

First | I definetly enjoyed the movie! It's on my list of movies to see again and again..and on my list of future DVD's to buy!
Let's start with what I didnt like..and then I'll end on a positive note.
The movie seemed too rushed,I mean 400something pages but they couldve explain some things alot better with more time. Would it have hurt to make the film 3hrs 10min long?
Barty Crouch was supposed to be babbling..Harry&Krum never shared a word, but for that scene they should have stumbled across Crouch Sr..Harry shouldve went for help,to return finding Krum attacked and Crouch gone..none of that happened and I thought that was quite important.
The Patil twins constantly saying 'hi' to Harry was annoying to me..unnecesary though it did lead to his asking them to the ball.
I LOVED the way Fred&George joked around...especially the dance lesson with Ron&McGonagall! Fred asking Angelina to the dance was to cute.
Hermione telling Ron that he ruins everything was SO CUTE yet HEARTBREAKING. <Every shipper should rejoice as this is proof of R/Hermy love>
It was so cool whe Neville came in late,Harry was already in bed,and Neville couldnt stop dancing.
Mad-Eye changing back to Crouch Jr was brilliant!
The grave yard scene was chilling, spot on! Voldemort is the ugliest thing you'll ever see and yet you won't be able to look away..I couldnt!
Krum was so mysterious..wanted to see more of him..but didnt. Though I enjoyed the bits he appeared in...the glances at Hermione were perfect. (Especially the time all the girls were following him by the lake, lol)
Katie as Cho....great casting...she did great just as I thought.
Barty Crouch Jr and Karkaoff scared the mess out of me...did you guys see his teeth and that thing om his pinky finger?...what a creep!
The ending made me cry...just like the book.
I'm already looing forward to my fav. of the books to be made a movie...OoTP...

| | | I cant say it was the best. It was good. The problem is there was so much left out. Lets take a look at all the movies. HP1, I think was one of the best if not the best because it was the first, they got the perfect base actors for all of the rest of the movies ( you cant deny that ) and before then we had no idea of what the characters would be like in real life. Everything was introduced to us in the first movie from quiddich, wands, invisibility cloaks, dragons, it was all in the first movie.
HP2, one of my favs because when you go to a harry potter movie, you dont want it to end. HP2 seemed the longest to me, and so many scenes from the book were in the movie. HP3, everybody seemed to like this one because of Alphonso. I liked it just a little more than the first 2 but only because the actual book 3 was one of the better ones up until that point, so it had nothing to do with the directing or look of the movie. It was the first book/movie where the ending didnt seem like the downward path of the movie, like in the first 2. The ending on HP3 starting at the time turning was actually a good set of scenes. HP4, Alot of action in the 3 tasks, a nice break in the Yule ball, sort of spotty to me because so much was in the book and so little in the movie. Too much screen writing changes to keep up with but all in all, still good. I wouldnt say it was the best of the 4 so far, I like them all for what they brought to the table.
Starting at movie 3 and 4, you really wish they'd make a directors cut and put it on the DVDs when they come out and then they can keep the movies to 2 hours and 30 minutes and then put in the rest on the DVD. Like the LOTR extended edition first movie, that was 30 minutes more material. I know there are scenes cut out. Add them back WB for the dvd, please. | |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Remus Viktor Lupin Fifth Year | Yeah the Patil twins being in the same house bugged me too. It was great for the most part. Things I missed was Hermione and Ron helping Harry learn jinxs, the actual QWC, Mrs. Wealsey, Harry naming the DEs at the end, giving the the twins the 1000 galleons and other stuff. Things I liked dragon scene, Neville shining, the Drumstang entrance, the Yule. The only thing I really disliked was too much Dumbledore. They gave most of Ludo's parts to Dumbledore and it didn't quite work for me.
