Default Isn't the Goblet of Fire supposed to be made of wood?...

From the looks of the trailer, the Goblet of Fire seems to be made of some translucent material...Seems like in the books, it was wooden...Anyone got any reasons why they may have changed it?

They do make tiny changes to the films. I think the Goblet looks really fab. The flames are amazing.

Like everyone's said it's not that big of a change...but still, people keep making it drift farther and farther away from the books. I mean, it's a little thing here, a little thing there. But, after awhile something big is going to be changed. And that'll be the day HP fans chase them with pitcforks. I honestly hope they're prepared for that!

all i knew, that it was a big goblet that swallowed pieces of paper with ppl's name on it, spit blue flames, and was nerve-wracking. thats pretty much all i care about anyways!

Only coz they stood it on a high pedastal thingy, to stop the younger kids trying to get in probably. The flames look great and I never knew the goblet was supposed to be made of wood.

I think the Goblet looks really cool. I'm actually kind of glad it's not wood, like in the book, because after seeing the trailer (WAY too many times... ) I really like the way the Goblet looks and having it wood... well, I don't know, but it seems to me like maybe that would take away a bit from the "WOW"-ness of the Triwizard Tournament... something like an anticlimax.

"So this crappy little wooden thing is what tells us who's competing in this fab competition?"

You sure you're not confusing the TriWizard Cup with the Goblet? That close-up is supposed to be the Cup, not the Goblet.

Yah! That's what I realized. The big blue one we see is the actually Tri-Wizard Cup, not the Goblet of Fire.

Ah, but it showed someone putting something into a thing that looked very... made-out-of-something-that-isn't-wood and it was spewing blue flames... unless the Triwizard Cup does that too?

If you look at the picture where Fred and George are trying to put their names in the cup you can see the the Goblet is made out of wood.

I think the goblet is metal in the movie so people who have not read the books and go see the movie will not be so confused. It will save people time on having to explain why it was wood in the first place. It could also be a wodden cup painted gold, has any one thought of that aspect.

The goblet looks really cool, though it's not like in the books - it looks even better than I imagined
