Difficult Times Lie Ahead, Harry, soon we must all face the choice. Between what is right. And what is easy. Description -- Beset by nightmares, Harry Potter is all too happy to escape his disturbing dreams by attending the Quidditch World Cup. But something sinister ignites the skies at the Quidditch campsite--the Dark Mark, the sign of the evil Lord Voldemort. It's conjured by his followers, the Death Eaters, who haven't dared to appear in public since Voldemort was last seen thirteen years ago--the night he murdered Harry's parents. Harry longs to get back inside the safe walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where Professor Dumbledore can protect him. But Dumbledore announces that Hogwarts will host the Triwizard Tournament, one of the most exciting and dangerous of the wizarding community's magical competitions. One champion will be selected from each of the three most prestigious wizarding schools to compete in a series of life-threatening tasks in pursuit of winning the coveted Triwizard Cup. Ministry of Magic official Barty Crouch and Professor Dumbledore preside over a candlelit ceremony as the enchanted Goblet of Fire selects one student from each school to compete. Amidst a hail of sparks and flames, the cup names Durmstrang's Institute's Quidditch superstar Victor Krum, followed by Beauxbatons' Academy exquisite Fleur Delacour and finally, Hogwarts' popular all-around golden boy Cedric Diggory. But then, inexplicably, the Goblet spits out one final name: Harry Potter. Suspecting that whoever entered Harry's name wants to put him in grave danger, Dumbledore asks Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, the eccentric new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, to keep his magical eye trained on the teenage wizard. Events take an ominous turn when someone is murdered on Hogwarts grounds. As they edge closer to the Triwizard Cup, Harry soon finds himself hurtling toward an encounter with true evil.

Trivia --
-- This film is the first Harry Potter film to be rated PG-13 by the MPAA. Rating in other countries were: 12A in the UK, 12 in the Netherlands, M in Australia and PG in Canada.
-- British contortionist Richard Rosson was hired to play the Death Eater named Avery. He shot scenes in which Avery suffers torture, but they were cut from the final cinematic edit.
-- The song Hermione and Hagrid sing as Harry finds Crouch's dead body is the Hogwarts school song.
-- The names on the graves in the graveyard scene are of the crew of the movie, in order to avoid legal issues with other names.
-- The band playing in the Maze grandstand scenes is composed of young musicians from the Aylesbury Music Centre in the UK. However, the music itself is dubbed, as the band were playing "magical" instruments. Despite a drum being played on the screen, percussion is notably absent from the audio track.
-- At the end of the credits you can read the sentence "No dragons were harmed in the making of this movie".
-- To play Voldemort, a large majority of Ralph Fiennes' facial features (most noticably his nose) were digitally altered in post production. To help the visual effects team, Fiennes had coloured dots painted onto his face during principal photography.
-- When Harry and the others are at the Quidditch World Cup, when Amos and Cedric Diggory split from Mr. Weasley and the others, Amos Diggory tells Mr. Weasley that it is "the parting of the ways", the title of chapter thirty-six in the book.
-- Dobby and Winky the house-elves make a cameo appearance in the film during the Quidditch World Cup, right after Ginny says "Look!" They are riding a camel-pulled cart right in front of the screen, but it is too quick to see.
-- This film went through a total of 12 script drafts.
-- This is the first film in which Harry's relatives, the Dursleys, do not appear.
Mistakes --
-- In the second task, Karkaroff can be seen mouthing the words that Dumbledore is saying.
-- When he has emerged from the bath water after listening to the egg, Harry is sitting with Myrtle and his hair changes repeatedly between shots, going from completely smooth to having a bit of hair sticking straight out on his right side.
-- When Harry reads Sirius' letter to him, the shot of the letter reveals that Sirius's last words in it are "By the way, the bird bites," but in the voice-over Sirius says "P.S. The bird bites."
-- When watching the arrival of the Beauxbatons contingent (a stagecoach pulled by seven winged horses), the Hogwarts students are looking in different directions. Some are still looking at the sky, some looking down, others looking straight to the front/camera.
-- During Dumbledore's speech before the third task, Karkaroff is standing behind Krum, and he begins to rub Krum's shoulders. In the very next shot, Karkaroff's hands are still at his sides, and he begins to rub Krum's shoulders again.
-- When Harry is picking up the licorice snaps when the cabinet to the pensieve is opening you can see a glimpse of Harry's microphone box on his back under his hoodie.
-- During the opening dinner, Neville switches position at the table from beside Hermione to the other side of the table, next to Dean.
-- Before the cannon fires for the third task, Amos Diggory can be seen hugging Cedric. He then says "my boy" even though his mouth is seen not moving.
-- When Harry disrobes as he has entered the bathtub in the Prefects' bathroom, the film looks as if it's been reversed.
-- During the scenes in which Crouch Sr. is explaining the rules of entering the Tournament, and Dumbledore is subsequently yelling for silence, there are a few shots where you can see that Alan Rickman, Pedja Bjelac, and Frances De La Tour's stand-ins/doubles are being used.
-- When Dumbledore is presenting the goblet, in the background you can clearly see Hagrid's stunt double, the 6'10" rugby player. He looks nothing like Hagrid.
-- When Harry is in Moody's office after the third task, and Moody closes the cabinet door after searching for more potion, a reflection of a crew member in a white shirt is reflected in the cabinet's glass.
-- The camera is reflected in the metal water container when Dumbledore walks down the stairs to attend to Ron and Fleur's sister during the second task.
-- When Moody is teaching his first lesson, he writes "unforgiveable" instead of "unforgivable" on the board.
-- When Moody writes his name, then the shot switches, if you look on the blackboard, it is quite noticeable that his name is written differently.
-- When Wormtail is cutting Harry's arm it shows him cutting it from side to side, but when the wound is shown it goes up and down the arm.
