Some wizard are nearly 12 when they start, so will be 18 in their final year.
Also, Durmstrang might be different, taking kids earlier or keeping them later. Who knows.

I don't know that J.K. ever said that other wizard schools had a 7-year system.. It may just be Hogwarts. That would be a good thing to look up though!

I'd say he started at Durmstrang when he was 12. Hermione turned 12 shortly after her first term started, so she'd be 18 for the biggest part of her senior year.

Yes your 17 and 18 in the 7th year. But does that mean that hermione is older than ron? Because it states in POA that hermiones birthday is in september, and Rons is on march 1st. So she's messing around with a toy boy after hogwarts? Lol.
