One thing that bugged me in GoF was that the Patil twins, Parvati and Padma, were both in Gryffindor. According to the books, only Parvati is in Gryffindor and Padma is in Ravenclaw. Furthermore, the twins are portrayed as two synchronized robots, linking arms and addressing Harry at the same time. It seems like somewhat an insult to their book characters because they are supposed to be super cool and girls to die for, according to the Hogwarts boys.

Is anyone else a bit annoyed by this, or is it just me?

Yea, even in PoA it got to me that they'd been put in the same house, but maybe it was the only way to get both twins under contract and Yacko, Wacko and Dot knew they'd need both for GoF.

And yea, the charcters were rather thin. In the book they had sperate personalities. But hey, if I can live with the meaningless padding of the First task, I guese I can live with this.

I, for one, totally agree =). They were one of my favourite characters in the book, but the movie made them seem sort of...lol I can't find the right word to describe them. Being in the same house sort of made them seem similar, like they both had the same characteristics to be put in the same house, unlike in the book, when padma was in ravenclaw, and parvati in gryffindor.

It also bugged me the way they were never seen apart. In the book, on the other hand, they had their own seperate lives, and were not joint at all time

OMG, Cookie, I agree 100%. It was so lame how they always said Harry's name together. And I didn't think they would act as though they were best friends. Where was Lavender, eh??

i agree with everyone, it bugged me big time..
it was just annoying, for one i got so confused because i thought that they were in seperate houses and i thought i was losing it!
and for two, when they'd say his name together it would just remind me of silly teenage girls being fans of him or something..
and three.. i was wondering the same thing, where was lavendar?
and another thing, just like amie said, they acted as if they were best friends.. and i have a NEVER known anyone who can get along with there sibling that well to be best friends.., but i dont know, its just they didnt remind me of the patil twins in the books much..

Dude, the Gof movie bothered me. They messed it up bad.

I thought the two girls that play the twins.. werent actaully twins. Im abit confused about that now.
But yeah It did bother me that they were put in the same house!

Hmm, maybe you're right. But if they aren't twins the casting office did a great job finding girls who look like twins. Just as good a the guys play Fred and George who realy were twins.

I agree. The house thing bothered me, and they *were* like robots. It seemed like they didn't have personalities really. Although, the Yule Ball scene was funny.

I think that they should have stuck by the book on this one. Them being in the same house and the way they act in the movies you would think that they are in a trance all the time saying the same thing at the same time everytime the passed Harry.

I was bugged by this in the fourth one. I just wish that they stuck with the book.

But i think it must be because they needed a ending for that part and they needed them to walk into together so that harry could ask them to the ball.

Mmm another slightly annoying mistake with the film. Thankfully, they don't play much of a role in the next films at all.

It is rather annoying when writers of screenplays don't take into account the canonized versions of the books they are trying to portray. And when they get things like this wrong, it makes us HP fans a little upset at what looks like carelessness.

yes I thought of that while I was watching he movie I think lots of people would have liked to see them with different personalities and in different houses

GoF is without a doubt my favorite out of the book series. But the movie was such a let down First, the way Harry looked was kind of off, they should cut his hair and stick with the short-and-messy hair he has always had. Then the twins didn't match the book's description. Their dresses for the ball...... ugh

Theyre not supposed to be girls that boys die for and drool at. They're just normal girls. And Parvati was supposed to be lavender browns best friend isn't she? But you dont see her until HBP.
