No, the Goblet was indeed wooden in the book, but I think I agree with what someone said earlier, that the blue looking thing is the Tri-Wizard cup. I don't guess it really matters one way or the other though...I didn't have a problem w/ PoA, when Harry didn't get the firebolt until the end of the movie, so I doubt I'll have a problem with the goblet, no matter what it's made of.

I guess this topic served its purpose. An honest mistake was made, misjudging the Triwizard Cup for the Goblet of Fire. I suppose this misunderstanding has been resolved?

Well It was wooden in the book and it wasen't as big as the teaser trailer showed it.
It was supposed to be much smaller and it was supposed to be taken out of a coffin like box at the beginning but i guess it's not going to be like that.
*shrugs* guess it can't all be like the book.

It still is made of wood! I first thought they changed it, but that glassy thing, that's the trophy, not the goblet of fire...like both by the way, good craftmanship

Maybe when they made the goblet they wanted it to look really old so they used a different material than wood. Even though in the book the Goblet is wooden.

I think it is suppose to be made of wood, but it wouldn't look to great in the film, just like brown, so i dont believe it was a bad change

Actually, the Goblet of Fire was pewter or some type of metal. It looked pretty solid. It was the Tri Wizard Cup that looked to be made of some translucent material.

I'm not sure. Maybe it's just another mistake. There seems to have been a lot found lately.
