Now I know sometimes plots change a little but i mean wasnt it silly to take Winky out who played a huge part in concealing Barty Crouch Jr.? I mean the scene at the Quidditch World Cup was ridiculous it was nothing like the book! While Crouch Jr was suppose to be under an invisibility cloak and Winky was suppose to be found unconscious with Harry's wand and they were suppose to meet Draco and Harry wasnt by himself he was with others too! he didnt wake up like hours after the fires were all out and see a man conjure the dark mark.. i dont know.. what do you guys think about how they changed this scene did you like it?

haha apparently im the only one thats outraged about this! lol but as i say in another thread this movie was rushed and i would rather have like an 8 hour long movie with all the cute details that are in the book than just watch a 3 hour movie of just the essentials..

no i agree, Winky is one of the major parts of the book because without her you dont get the ful story line of what happens at the quidditch world cup. I think it would also be better it they had just made like a huge movie and put in all the key parts and details that they left out of the movie so that more people could understand some of the movie more. So no your not the only one outraged about this! lol.

I was really upset when there was no winky. She did play a major part in the book. I also missed S.P.E.W.

They cut out Winky because they cut out Society Protect Elvish Welfare and cut out Hermione's best bits. They probably made Neville give Harry the dillygrout because CGI is expensive and actors are cheap.

That is the trouble with Hollywood. The format is 2 hours.

I did love the bit where the crowd roar "Krum! Krum!" I wanted to yell along.

there are two house elves in the movie! trust me,there is....there in the quiddich (sp)fair scene.its hard to see cuz there moving fast.if you see something brown and there on somthing,then you'll no its them...i hope.

that was exactly what i was wondering. That movie really misses out alot of things and i agree with Luna Potter. i missed S.P.E.W in that movie. i argued so much. lolz

I guess I was one of the few that didn't care. I really thought JKR went too long on SPEW and found myself just simply scanning those parts. The house elves weren't really that huge, and I think she only had them in the book to give Hermy something to get on a soapbox about *shrugs*

I COMPLETELY agree with you. I was SO mad when Winky wasn't there! She, to me, did have a big part with the whole Barty Crouch JR. thing and she SHOULD have been there. And they SHOULD have had the kicthen snence as well. I thought that the QWC scence was going to be better than what it was.

I missed Winky a lot.I was wondering where she went and I missed SPEW.I loved that parts which were cut off.

I was wondering were the house elves where too. They dont have them in any more of the movie and I think that that wasnt a part they should have cut out. I really hope that they have them in the next movie.

I think they left Winky out because her plot doesn't carry into the rest of the series (neither do any house-elves, excluding Kreacher in OOTP).
Seems a shame though, when Amos Diggory was questioning Winky, that showed a lot of his character in the book. Quite cruel to her.

I thought they should have definitly put the house elves in as well as the Quidditch World Cup (the actual match) and S.P.E.W. and finished up the Rita Skeeter plot and shown the kitchens!! That stuff was important (to me at least) and they could've cut out the dragon chase thing or something else.
I thought that they were trying to make the films as close to the books as possible, not trying to do better than them.
Now that that's out of my system...

Without showing Hermione's love for house elves, it won't make sense when she snogs Ron for saying the elves should be saved, it would look like she has an elf fetish or something :O

im sorry but id have to diagree except for the winky bit yea she wasn't a huge role but the other house elf they mention are dobby and he is a huge character in the books that think they should have kept in the films

Oh, yeah, definitely. I was very disappointed in that, and the fact that they took out Hermione's SPEW project. That was a very funny part of the book, and I would have loved to see it translated onto the screen.
