I don't mind that the characters wearing normal clothes, I think it is actually kind of cool that they get to, I just really wish they would lay off on the pink with Hermione, I don't mind that she gets to wear normal clothes just she wears a little too much pink

I have two big problems with the new movie's costumes:
1) The Muggle attire-it is not customary for the students of Hogwarts to go running around the grounds or going off to big events, involving their school, in muggle clothes. (I believe in the book, JK mentions that people were tripping over the hems of robes and such at and during the tasks). Sure, Muggle jeans and t-shirts are probably more comfortable than stuffy robes (being that I have never worn any wizarding robes in my life, I can not be sure of this) but still: the directors should stick a little more closely to the books (in my own and full opinion)
And:
2) Hermione's (Emma's) dress- no, not dress, curtain! My godness! I believe that I saw the identical dress on a three year old flower girl at my cousin's wedding six years ago and even then it looked terrible. I mean it may have been a nice dress...minus the ruffles, the color and the boxy bottom hems...
I wish it was a flat, light blue dress with a nice, circular, flowing bottom that doesn't drag horrendously when one is dancing/walking/moving. To add to it, maybe a white rose pinned on the shoulder or something to give a feminine touch to it. That's what I would have done. Krum's robes and Dan's suit are brilliant; Emma's dress is horrid against Krum's clothes. Too bad they can't change it now.

i like the muggle clothes, it must have been hot wearing the robes and filming in previous years, and plus a lot of the action takes place on school grounds while school isn't in session, so if i'm not mistaken they can wear whatever they want when school isn't in session.

I really liked the clothing used for the Yule Ball.
but as for the rest of the movie, i'd be much more satisfied if they used more wizard-like clothing.

The uniforms have changed a lot in this film. The type of suites that Harry and Cedric are wearing in the tornament looks like something a muggle would wear. It wasn't what I was expecting them to wear.

I feel that the attire in this movie has improved considerably since the 3rd movie, though Emma's still knacked on pink... well, I just hope it's just a one-time happening of her part, at least in this movie...

They do seem to wear quite a bit of Muggle clothes.... not that I mind, I don't think it really changes the movie... but it seems kind of odd, and the fact that the real "Wizards" when trying to blend in with the Muggle's never really look that odd, like I would have expected. I think that Hermione, wears a little to much pink but that is only because I hate the color.....

I noticed that Harry and Cedric are wearing clothes that look more muggle like in the movie. Also the school uniforms have changed again, the girls are now wearing black/grey tights instead of the grey stockings that they used to wear.

why MUST they continue changing the uniforms? seriously, they are fine the way they are. && i don't think they should be wearing much muggle clothes, i find that very odd and peculiar. and hermione's dress is suppose to be blue, not purple! BLUE. i wish they could change it. blue. blue. blue.

I think Hermione's wearing toooo much pink! Maybe theyre trying to set her apart from her two MALE best friends, however there is a limit. Quote:

Its just tooooo much.
However on the dress thing. I think the dress was pretty. It coulda been better, but whats done is done. I'm not mad over the whole Dress Not Being Blue thing. I mean everyon'es freaking over it and it was mentioned ONCE in the book, where as Harry's eyes are supposed to be green and is mentioned in EVERY BOOK , but are blue in the films. Why arent people mad about this?
And the uniforms! Changed again! *dues* Haha, nah! They were quite nice!

the amount of times they wore muggle clothing got me too, they never do in the book they definately should have stook to the robes
and the yule ball costumes were not at all how they were described in the book...harry's are meant to be like his school robes but green....and with hermione's dress...it was pretty, but the wrong colour lol

They're supposed to be in their robes the whole time.
No they're not! In the books they wear muggle clothes to the QWC as a disguise, kids wear muggle clothes between classes and the uniform isn't entirely muggle anyway!
Use common sense guys. Not even J.K.rowling has them in robes 24/7.
umm yes!
they always have robes and wizard type clothes on.
they never actually wear muggle clothing, unless for disguise..
dont you remember Mr. Weasley asking Harry if his outfit was ok?
dont you remember in the SS book, vernon and other muggles saw 'strangely dressed' people outside celebrating?
dont you remember people looking at fudge's lime green bowler hat..?
thats why i HATED when they started dressing in normal clothes.
NEVER in the book did they, unless it was a disguise.
they always had on robes and such.

I think that they should be able to wear what they want and in the book they are not allowed to wear muggle clothes to school and in alot of the movies they do where the muggle clothes. Its all so confusing. I wish the movies would go by the book cause it is so hard to believe in what the book says and then the movie does everything so different.

Yeah--I did notice that, and Dan Radcliffe actually addressed that in an interview recently: he said that they wear more muggle clothing as the movies progress to show that the kids are growing up, and that it sort of signals as a harbinger that they won't be attending Hogwarts much longer.

Maybe they where allowed to wear them on the occasion that your talking about. And theyre not really muggle clothes are they? The only things that are classed as wizarding clothes are cloaks and hats. The rest are just normal clothes.
