I think that it took Ron seeing Hermione with someone else that made him finally realize the depth of feeling he really had for her. Combine that with the unexpected change from a catepillar to a butterfly that Hermione made for the event (And in Ron's mind, for Krum, not himself) that really was the crux of his sulkiness. His jealousy was obvious, even to Hermione herself. |

 My opinion why Ron reacted the way he did is maybe because he didn't thought that Hermoine will actually have a date to the Yule Ball, because since she is the way she is and to see her not as the Hermoine he used to know with bushy hair and into books. To see her as the next beautiful girl that can get a date with Viktor Krum. Whow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was a big slap in the face.  | |

^Agree. He just couldn't stand seeing her with Krum. It was so fun in the movie when Ron was telling Harry how he was stupid.  Ron has had feelings for Hermione from along time now. Since the first movie then the second movie proved it when Draco called her-well, you guys know. Those two kill me  I just want them to tell each other how they feel already! lol! | |

He automatically assumed that Hermione wouldn't have a date, so this would be his chance to make a move, because he obviously likes her, and i think that the Yule Ball reminded us taht although they are witches and wizards, they are still teenagers, and their hearts can be broken, and they go through the same stuff that all teens face. | |

I think that Ron loves Hermione but he just doesn't know it. Maybe he does know and doesn't want to admit it to anyone, not even himself becuase he's afraid it will hurt his friendship with Hermione. Whatever it may be, I think Hermione needs to be with Draco all the way. Draco is going to become good. That's kind off topic but I just couldn't go without saying it. But still Ron loves Hermione but Hermione doesn't love Ron. Draco is going to like Hermione and Hermione will eventually love Draco and Ron will have to find someone else. | |

Ron was probably jealous because Hermione was with Krum and I think he like her. he just was mad at krum for asking Hermione first and wanted to show he didn't care, even though he did, by being nasty and ignoring Hermione. She didn't do anything and Ron just went off sulking.  | |

I think that Ron started loving her in his 4th year after the Yule Ball. Ron felt a strong surge of jealousy for Krum because HE was the one who danced with her at the the ball not HIM. After that, he realised that Hermione couldn't really always be around him and he finally realised just how precious she was. | |

But...yes, Ron has been in love with Hermione for a long time. It's never been a brother/sister relationship like with her and Harry. There was always awkwardness. Like when she wanted to ''move closer'' and he misunderstood. And then he saw Hermione being the belle of the ball. Being the date of the most eligible bachelor. Of course he was jealous. i think ron always sorta liked hermione but when he asked her and she said someone asked her and when he saw her at the ball with krum instead of him he really started to show that he liked her. and what i think really shocked him was that krum ask her and krum was like a god to ron. so that probley made him mad. |

well certainly his expression was quite different from the rest...he was not shocked but angery and 'jealous' at krum. He simply didnot look at her when she was going inside the hall, he just ignored her.
