I thought the goblet of fire onley picked 3 people. Did moody (aka Barty crouch jr) jinx it to pick Harry? im so confused!!!  lupinlover97 |

Well, actually I think the Goblet was tricked not jinxed.
Barty Crouch Jr. just wrote below Harry name the name of a different school. Since the Goblet has to pick one name of each school, Harry had to be picked, since he was the only one from this "school".
I think it was like that.

This was all said in the book. Read it again if you missed it. Focus on the last few chapters and the chapters when Harry gets pulld out of the GOF. Its all explained there.

Yeahhh, imposter Moody placed Harry's name in the Goblet under a different school which obviously none of the other people who submitted their names did, meaning that would be the only name from that school choosen.

I always thought that it went by the school that they were in and the Goblet of Fire chose 1 champion from each school entered so I think Harry was put in under a different school and sence no one else was entered under that school the goblet had no choice but to pick him.

well..yeah he jinxed it but i think the goblet would know wouldnt it..
although maybe the goblet thought that it would be fun to watch harry potter be tortured in some tri game thing so he decided to throw out 4.

Yes, Moody (BCJ) pretty much jinxed the gof. He put Harry's name in under a fourth (non-existant) school to ensure that Harry was picked for the TriWizard Tournament.

That's what the tournament has been called since it started. And they had no way of knowing it would happen so... yeah. And quad-wizard tournament just sounds weird hehe.
