I don't hate Cho, she's not my favourite character but I don't hate her.

I find her slightly superficial but I hate how people say that she's 'a sook and that she used poor Harry'. She must be going through a lot, I don't think it was the best idea to jump into a relationship so soon with the guy who saw her ex-boyfriend die though. She did seem kind of insecure when she immediately jumped to the conclusion that Harry was with Hermione. I thought it would of been obvious that Harry wasn't the best at talking with girls and if she was suspicious she should of asked what exactly Hermione wanted Harry for.

But she did lose her boyfriend in the most horrible way. Professor Dumbledore made sure Cedric's parents knew what happened to their son but I doubt they told Cho. She needs to know. She needs closure.

I mainly don't like her because of OotP, but I didn't really like her before, either. She reminds me of Trixie Tang from Fairly Oddparents.

Very over protective of Harry....or maybe even jealous of her is why some people (mostly females) dispise her character. She gave Harry his first kiss for christ sakes..lighten up people.
I think she just needs to slow down with the realtionships thing. First Cedric, then Harry, then Ginny EX...whose next? i don't dislike her though. when you think about it she's actually one of the things/people that is part of the turning point in Harry's life as he gets older...so she's cool in my book.

Ding dong! Cho seems like a normal, confused female teenager. Besides, I think she deserves some pity, her boyfriend died! A number of people give Snape and Draco pity and they have done nothing but prove themselves to be immature, incredibly bitter, evil, self-serving, horrific human beings who when the world is (literally) at stake they choose their own immature emotional self-interest over the greater good? (end rant) I think people need to lighten up on Cho, Harry doesn't seem to care, why should we?

Default Cho Chang

I don't hate Cho Chang. She is just one of those people who I don't really think about if I like them or not. Do you know what I mean?

There are some things about her personality that I don't like, but that doesn't mean that I hate Cho Chang. She seems very very sensitive. I don't think that Cho and Harry would have made a good couple anyways if they did date.

I think Harry should be with someone who doesn't cry all the time and doesn't make him feel bad when they talk about Cedric 24/7. He should be with someone who has all that energy like him and understands all those terrible catastrophies that happened in his life. I know Cho went through a lot with Cedric dying and all-but she didn't really care what Harry felt like at all.

I think that Cho should be with someone who can comfort her, because she needs it. Harry can't comfort her because he was there when Cedric died and it would be really hard to comfort her when it is almost as bad on him since he watched Cedric die.

I don't hate Cho, cause she went through a lot losing Cedric. How would you feel if you lost a person you really cared for? The only thing I didn't like was her whining and her jealously over Hermione.

I don't hate her, I just really don't like her. I mean, honestly, she could have reacted better. Yeah, Cedric died, it's sad. But I mean, they can't have been going out for very long. How well did she really know him? I just don't think they were that close.

And look at what everyone else has lost. A lot of people have lost friends and family members to Voldemort. Look at what happened to Neville's parents. And I think he takes it pretty well. Same with Harry, even though he does have his outbursts every now and then. Although something tell's me that's going to get worse in HBP.

I'm not saying that I have no sympathy for Cho. I can understand her grief. But I dunno, I just felt like she was sort of using Harry. I mean, if Cedric were still around, I doubt she would talk to him too much at all. Enough of my senseless ranting.

I love Cho Chang, but you are right she didn't really know him that much.I guess she is a little over dramatic.Oh and you have to take Neville into concideratio,he is a boy so hes not going to cry a lot.lol.

I don't understand this. Cho Chang is 15, whether she was dating him for long or not, someone she knew and was close to died. That will affect anyone her age. I don't see Cho having done anything wrong to anyone, other than becoming attached to Cedric and being emotionally confused. It's not like Harry or anyone was really hurt by her.

my only comment it this, since im a guy i'd much rather have my girlfriend move then cry over me all the time. . .crying isn't going to solve anything.

It's also rude to talk about going to see your female friend while on a date.

Also, I too am a guy and I would also say that not talking about something (Cedric's death) is going to solve just as little as crying about it.

She still didn't quite get over her bf's death and she was taking all that out on Harry as if she expected to be his replacement... sorta. If I was in Harry's place, I would probably be thinking "What is wrong with you!?" and get up and leave her bawling by herself in that cafe cuz that's just too much female hormones and psychology I just don't get (and I'm a girl!). She's so insecure, she really needs to back off or go away or sumthin.

Ravenclaw hater... NOT!!!

Quote:
why do people hate her so much?
hmm...
i dont really know.
But, she's Harry's love interest and I think that's enough reason for a lot of people to hate her, specially, H/Hr shippers.
I dont hate Cho nor I care of what Jk will do to her.
But I think she's such a drama queen.
Crying all the time even when she snogged Harry!!!
She must be really smart though, she's in Ravenclaw!

I feel sorry for Katie though.
It wasnt her fault that she was chosen to play a fictional character.
People can really get attach to the story.
I say we see how she'd done the job then we can judge Katie.
Being Cho or not.

I don't understand why the fact that she is upset over her dead boyfriend seems so offensive to people. However, this thread is about Cho Chang in the Goblet of Fire. We do not see Cho Chang even talking to Harry about this until The Order of the Phoenix. What we do see is that she is pretty, popular, and an arguably good quidditch player. She also politely declines Harry's invitation to the Yule Ball, and even appears to show some regret that she couldn't go with him when he asks her (because he waited too long). Now, that said, what in the Goblet of Fire does Cho Chang do to Harry that is bad? I mean, she is nice, polite, and friendly. I don't understand where the negative image comes from, rationally. Could someone please explain it to me?
