I don't think she did that much pranking with her brothers, Hermione says that Ginny used to secretly borrow Fred and George's broomsticks. This implies that they didn't let her join in very much I think she might have been impressed by Harry, but didn't fancy him until she met him. I love that part when she runs away upstairs

I have to agree with Wendy. She was the only girl (and also the youngest) in her family and might've felt a bit left out at times. She probably had a love for Quidditch- which, I'm sure many children from Wizarding families have- but as her brothers were usually the ones playing and she didn't have a broom of her own, it doesn't seem that Ginny got to spend to much time with her brothers.
As for the Harry thing- I think she respected him but didn't start to have a crush on him untill she saw him on the train to Hogwarts.
One of Ginny's phrases is "Anything's possible if you've got enough nerve". I think that phrase might be related to her younger years, when she wasn't accepted by her cruel brothers I think she was always trying to trick them back and make it equal. That's possibly where her "no-nonsense" attitude came from
