Locker Room

https://i.postimg.cc/TwmWQdcj/locker-room-banner2.jpg
Branching off the stands is an area specifically reserved for the House Quidditch teams. The moment you step into this area, you find yourself in a foyer that branches off into four different sections. Adorning the walls of this open space are portraits of numerous team captains of the past, who are known to be rather chatty and might even give you a death glare if you happen to be in a rival House of theirs. Standing front and centre on a pedestal is the much-coveted Quidditch Cup, a Hufflepuff banner displayed behind it to emphasize the current reigning champion.

Two doors beyond lead to the locker rooms, one for the boys and one for the girls. Rows of tall lockers flank the walls and wooden benches have been placed in the middle. Each person on the House team has their own locker, each with an accompanying lock, where they can store their equipment, robes, and toiletries. A door is present at the end of the locker room, which connects to the shower room. Keep in mind that the locker rooms are a shared space, so proper etiquette is required at all times.

On opposite sides of the foyer are two sets of stairs that provide access to rooms that are used on match days by the opposing teams. These are rooms where the teams are to gather before the match begins and during time-outs, get a pep talk from the captain, and go over any strategic plans. Within is a simple black chalkboard, a number of benches, and an exit that opens up to the pitch.

It was Friday afternoon, a few days after the rosters had been posted up in the common rooms. Needless to say, Colin had been busy getting locker assignments and team jerseys in order. As of that moment he was in the foyer placing boxes of jerseys into different corners of the room, one corner for each House team. Beforehand, he had brought in a few boxes that contained pads, gloves, goggles, and just about anything in between for those who were in need of equipment.

It all seemed rather scattered at the moment, but that would be taken soon enough. Today was the day that the students who made their House team would be collecting everything and storing it in their lockers, which certainly made this an exciting day if you asked him.

Speaking of the students, a quick glance down at his watch informed him that they should be popping in any minute now.

Hanna had been WAITING for Friday to roll around so that she could head back to the familiarity of the Locker room. Hanna hadn't even gone upstairs to put her things away, and her bag was still firmly perched on her back.

"Hello Professor MacKenzie," Hanna beamed, rather excitedly. Not only was it now the weekend, where she could catch up on her homework and get stuck back into her OWL revision, but today they were getting their Jerseys. Having been on the team for the past two years, she already had all of the other equipment. It was hers, it fit, and it fit well.

RachieRu 05-20-2019 03:46 PM

Liliane was so excited. She had made the team. Of course she had made quidditch teams plenty of time. But this was fun, and different. She knew she was good, but to make her house team was great. She was going to have such a great final year. Hopefully Gryffindor would win, because that would just be the best thing ever. Lili was also pretty excited that she got the number 1. That had to be a sign right? Anyway. Overall, Lili was pretty happy.

That was why she had a big smile on her face as she headed down to the locker room to get her jersey. It was going to be really cool to get to play in Gryffindor colours. Being out there on the pitch, representing her house. It was going to be great. And she looked great in red, so that was good.

"Good Afternoon Sir" She murmured with a smile, nodding at the other student there as she headed into the locker room. She was the first of her team there. That was okay. She was just eager okay!

gritandgrace 05-20-2019 03:58 PM

Eniola was excited for Friday. It meant she finally got a chance to get her gear for the upcoming Quidditch season and hear from her Captain as well as meet her team!

Walking into the locker room she looked around to see who was already there and realized she was one of the first. "Hello Professor." She nodded to him and moved to the Hufflepuff corner, smiling at the other girls as she passed their corners.

Seeing the boxes with the equipment she looked it over and grabbed pads, gloves and goggles along with her new jersey. I have a jersey! She thought to herself. John would be so proud. Eni thought fondly of her brother as she found her locker and placed her new equipment inside.

Bazinga 05-20-2019 05:13 PM

OH YES!

She was there! Chloe might have run to the locker room when it was time to get their uniforms. She had been waiting and waiting for this day to come. Nothing made her happier than putting on a quidditch robe and getting on her broom.

Bursting through the doors she beamed at everyone, "Hey ALL!" Headed straight to the empty wall and stuck her newly made poster up that glittered and changed colors saying CONGRATULATIONS QUIDDTICH PLAYERS!

After hanging the poster she headed to her corner to find her uniform, would she have the same number as last year? "Hey Hannah! This is so exciting, isn't it?"

Fireheart 05-20-2019 05:43 PM

Avalon bounded into the locker room, unable to keep from beaming. She had done it. She had made the house team as a first year. Never in a million years did she think she could do it. She had signed up for tryouts in an effort to have fun, practice her skills, and meet some fellow Quidditch lovers. And she ended up making the team! She was over the moon excited for the coming term and getting know her teammates.

"Hey everyone!" she said cheerfully. After grabbing some equipment from the boxes (since she didn't think she would be lucky enough to make the team, she hadn't brought any equipment with her from home), she made her way over to the wall of lockers and scanned for number 19. She noticed two other Ravenclaw players standing a few lockers down. Well, she had better introduce herself, since they would be teammates. "Hi there! Chloe and Hanna, right? I remember you guys from tryouts. My name's Avalon." She offered her hand to both of the girls for a friendly shake.

Hey Ju 05-20-2019 05:58 PM

Quidditch uniform pick up time was the BEST. TIME. EVER.

Unsurprisingly, Anna had been unable to focus during lessons that morning because she couldn't stop thinking about THIS MOMENT. It was always one of the most exciting times of the YEAR and she couldn't WAIT to be in the locker rooms already.

Because of that, the morning classes seemed to drag on for. flipping. ever. UGH. They were already boring as they were, but that day they were double boring and Anna couldn't wait to get out of there.

AND SHE WAS FINALLY OUT! Thank Merlin!

The Gryffindor had her school bag over her shoulder and was still in her normal uniform when she headed to the locker room, a smile plastered on her face.

"Hey!" She greeted the group that was already there, including professor MacKenzie - how in the world HE was their new instructor, she could never be sure, but she was still excited about it, okay, wowowowowow. Yeah, sure, U17 dealt with some pros and all, but he was their Hogwarts professor now! Like, what? Mind-blowing, to say the least.

Oh my Merlin, was that Zoryn on the wall? No way. LOL. And Abra and... herself. Oh. Huh. Weird. And a bitter reminder she wasn't the Captain anymore. Hm. Well. She was going to ignore that for now.

It all felt quite different after the combined tryout, to be honest, but not in a bad way. The sixth year gave Hanna a smile as she had been happy with how they had worked together in tryouts. It seemed like it had paid off after all. Oh, and that cute little Ravenclaw firstie (Avalon) was there too! Aw, good! Anna was happy for her.

Jessiqua 05-22-2019 12:15 AM

Hanna offered smiles to all of the members that walked in, even though they were from the other teams. They would all be just as excited as she was. The first of her team to arrive was Chloe, who had of course secured her spot as seeker. "Hi Chloe, congratulations on seeker!" Hanna smiled and nodded. "It really is. Great to be back on the field with the team." She was looking forward to properly getting to know the other members, too.

And the first year student who showed the Quaffle who was boss had also made the team. Hanna nodded at her name, and gave her a big smile. "Hi Avalon, welcome to the team! You were great out there at tryouts." Hanna hadn't been surprised to see her name on the roster. Nope.

And the returning Gryffindor Chaser. It had been a great experience mixing with the other houses against the dummies, and had given her a fresh perspective of the house teams. They were competition, but playing with them and being able tp put their combined skills together had been very valuable. Hanna sent Anna a big grin, not at all surprised to see her.

Kolyander 05-23-2019 08:00 PM

Friday afternoons were always the best. Lessons were finished and the fact that she had already completed all her assignments meant she was free to do as she pleased for the weekend. Starting with one of the best things a weekend could start with. Quidditch. Okay, so not exactly, she was just picking up her Jersey but that was a great start to an even greater weekend.

Rylee smiled brightly at everyone as she entered the locker room. "Hello, Professor MacKenzie. Hi, everyone!" They were all greeted with a simple wave. Blue-green eyes scanned the lockers for her name to see if her locker had remained the same as the previous terms while she waited for the professor to start handing out their team jerseys.

nicole black 05-23-2019 10:01 PM

Maxie was really quite exhausted. the past few days had been somewhat - very - emotional. He ought to be used to it, seeing as just how high strung he was, but Maxie was used to very little in his life, and that included strong ties to guilt, happiness and loneliness.

Biting his dry bottom lip, Maxie entered foyer and was immediately overwhelmed. Girls. Girls everywhere. All chatting away and giving each other friendly smiles. Aside from Professor MacKenzie, Maxie was the only boy here.

It wasn't like girls were more difficult to deal with then boys - except that's exactly what it was like. the Hufflepuff wiggled his way through the crowd and toward a nice cozy corner by the locker room entrance. He'd just... wait it out until the girls all got their stuff. Practical, very practical. "H-hello, Professor." Maxie said this so quietly it was almost certain the Quidditch star wouldn't hear him.

Zoe 05-24-2019 12:39 AM

Moments after glancing at his watch, he heard the door open and in started coming in student after student. Salutations were returned to Newton, Montague, and Abara. Eyes watched curiously as McCarthy stuck up a banner, then was soon distracted by Sinclair who was already getting into the box of supplies. Meriwether received a nod of acknowledgement, he uttered a 'hello' to Prichard, and, though he did not hear him, Anderson-Belfort received a word of greeting and a gentle clap on the back.

"Alright, all of ye," he addressed them all, interjecting himself into any conversations that were being hand. "First o' all, congrats on makin' yer House team. Team practices and all tha' will be starting next week as the first matches will be takin' place in about a month. Yer Captain will be reachin' out to ye with those details over the weekend."

There was a brief pause, and then the man made a motion toward the boxes.

"Yer jerseys have all been separated by House. Gryffindors in the corner closest to me. Hufflepuffs in tha' corner over there. Opposite sides are Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each of ye get two jerseys, and they all have yer's last names and numbers on the back. And there is a box in the centre for those of ye who are in need of gear. Feel free to help yerself, but only take what ye need."

"Once ye've got everythin', feel free to get settled in. Girls' locker room is tha' door there on the left," Colin continued, pointing with a thumb over his shoulder at the door. "Boys' locker room is on the right. Lockers have been assigned to each of ye. Under each locker number is yer last names, so shouldn't be too hard to figure out. If ye need anythin', lemme know."

Govoni 05-24-2019 04:19 AM

Fridays were weird for him, since he'd taken on added responsibilities.... Busier than usual, leaving the Hufflepuff utterly exhausted and drained, but... good news! UNIFORMS TODAY. With quidditch to look forward to in a few weeks, a tired body didn't seem that important. This was easily where he belonged.

Shouldering his way into the locker room, Aaron grinned widely at his fellow players. There was a different vibe this term, more unity between the houses. Thinking about it, combining them made the most sense. MacKenzie really knew his stuff.....

..... And....he was late. He'd just realized. Terrible start, Botros. "Sorry for my tardiness, Professor." With a small sheepish expression, Aaron moved towards Maxie, who he continued to be terribly proud of, and Eniola, who was joining him as a beater. To those who'd made it this term... awesome... but he couldn't help but miss Ronan in that moment. And Bel.

NOPE. No sadness allowed. Instead, he focused on locker assignments, and the Hufflepuff banner that was hanging. It was good motivation for the cup this year. "Oh, Max... We're beside each other."

Stormdancer 05-24-2019 11:33 AM

Holly was SUPER excited to be on the team for a second year running. So much so, that the first person she had told had been Cam. Obviously. Then Alis and Jorgie. Then her parents had been owled… Then she had found Avery and Gunnar. They were a very important set of people because it was a very important piece of news.

Head high, Holly walked into the Locker Rooms just before she was meant too, where she gave the Professor a wide smile and wiggle of her fingers. Perhaps he’d be willing to give her some Keeper pointers? He had played after all… Hmm. She watched him as he handed out instructions, pondering if he would or if he would consider that an unfair advantage over the other teams….?????? Though… it wasn’t an advantage unless she could execute the moves that they discussed… Which… meant it was a question worth asking.

Yup. She’d do that soon.

Looking over at the locker list, she once again frowned. Nope. She still didn’t like locker number 24. ”Professor… Can I have locker 21 back?? It was my locker last year. I’ll ask Lian.” To be fair, she could probably put up with locker 24, but she had loved locker 21 last year. She’d had a good year, and she wanted all the good juju she could get. Especially without Cameron flying with her this year.

She didn’t move to pick out her gear. Not until she had the go-head on locker 21. It was her’s.

lazykitty 05-24-2019 12:18 PM

Had there been running involved in Archer's way to the locker rooms? Quite possibly, she'd had to stay after her last class of the day after all. Then, of course, there had been prefect duties and fetching her gear/broom which resulted in her making a mad dash to the room and attempting to sneak in late and unnoticed. Didn't want to interrupt the professor after all. Especially not one as famous as MacKenzie.

Jerseys separated by house, lockers already labeled. Got it. Naturally blending with the rest of her fellow Quidditch players now that everyone was moving around, Archer moved towards the jersey box, sending a quick "Hey!" and an eager smile to each of her teammates (and managing to keep from giving their captain a happy hug) before heading off to check out and stuff her Quidditch gear into it. Definitely a good vibe in the air.

Jessiqua 05-24-2019 03:02 PM

Hanna couldn't keep the excited smile from her face as MacKenzie spoke to them, congratulating them, and mentioning practices. She couldn't wait to be back on the field with the team, the Ravenclaws. Even with a new captain, and missing Juni, it was still just as exciting. A new captain and flying officiant brought new things to the field, and Hanna would do her best to learn everything she could from them.

Hopping up, she went to the Ravenclaw area to retrieve her two jerseys with Newton on the back. Brand new, crisp coloured. Then she looked at her locker allocation and headed into the Girl's locker room where she opened locker 17. "So, anyone see any new moves at the world cup?" she asked the room.

Kolyander 05-25-2019 12:38 PM

Not a sound was made as Rylee listened MacKenzie speak about practices and their first matches. A month would come very quickly so she hoped her new Captain would be ahead of the game and start practices right away. Already knowing where the locker room was that wasn't something she needed to worry about.

Making her way over to the box of team jerseys, she found the two with her last name across the back. As for equipment... there was no need for any of that. Everything she needed she already owned and in her eyes nothing was better. Draping her jerseys over her shoulder she headed into the girls locker room to locate her locker.

emjay 05-26-2019 04:28 PM

Gunnar had been leaning against the wall at the back of the crowd, casually listening to all that MacKenzie was telling them about practices, jerseys, and lockers. Once he was done, he headed over to Slytherin box for his own jerseys, soon finding them in the pile.

Two. Number two. He was still rather annoyed that he had a different number this year than the one he wore last year and the year before. Five was a great number, it was his lucky number. But he supposed he'd get over it soon enough. He was still pleased that he had made the team yet again.

But at least he had the same locker as before, he noticed as he made his way into the boys locker room. He somehow took comfort in that familiarity as he started to put his jerseys and his personal equipment that he brought with him into his locker.

griffin 05-27-2019 07:13 PM

Cordelia was sooo excited to have made seeker this year! She grinned as she listened to the professor explaining everything about jerseys and lockers. Once the professor was done speaking, the second year made a dash for the pile of Gryffindor jerseys. It wasn't long before she found her two jerseys. They had even spelled her name correctly on both of them! Moving aside so her teammates could get their jerseys, Cordelia traced the number on one of her jerseys with her finger. Seven for seeker. She had done it, made a real starting position on the team this year. Grabbing some equipment that she would need from the box, Cordelia headed to the girls locker room to find her locker.
