Hogwarts RPG Name: Elphie-Glinda Thropp Second Year | Why doesn't Harry lose his Invisability Cloak?
If its invisibale why doesnt it go missing?
Does it only work when its attached to a person?
Ive always wondered this.
What are your thoughts?

I love cait! ooops...did write that That is so true and i am 1st to post on your new thread...yippeee
i'd probably just lose it if it were a normal cloak like but that is really strange...if harry can see the outside when its not on...can everyone else or does it just look like a normal cloak?
it must have some sort of enchantment on it...it cant be just the peverell bloodline it works for because that would that ron & hermione wouldn't have been able to use it at the lovegood's in book 7...hmmm confused now?!!

I think it only works if it's being used as thats what happened on the PS/SS film....

I don't know, I always thought that you could see it because it was blue with stars on it, and I think when it's on you and closed all of the way, it becomes invisible.

Elizabeth Peterson Diagon Alley | I think it only works if it's being used, because when Harry first got it at Christmas, you could see the designs on the cloak. It's only when it is being used, that it (and it's user) becomes invisible. I want one (any one know where to get one)??? |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Luke Winters Sixth Year | here's my theory. only one side of it is invisible. the other side is the blue stuff with the stars. so like if you drop it, it depends on what side it lands on whether it's invisible or not. It works for everyone. Not just Harry. After all a lot of other people used it. Snape found it and used it in the 7th book. Ron and Hermione always used it. And i guess HArry just had to be careful when he put it up so he'd remember where it was.

It only becomes invisible when it's on the user.If it's not in use, anybody can see the cloak
Well, that's what I think. There's evidence backing-up this theory in SS...
Hope that helps

That's correct. It is described as being a 'shimmery' silverish material, but it is visible when not in use.

the invisability cloak only works when a person wears it. this way it doesn't go missing and thats wh they are soo expensive and rare.l if it were invisible all the time then it would just get lost like the invisible book of invisibility.

I agree with those of you who say that it works when it's attached to a person. When it's not, it seems a very normal cloak!
