Dumbledore has a brother? OMG! I know nothing about anything!

hmmmm..........we hav some knowledge abt this in the 5th book. he might be the R.A.B. nah.....!but i thought he was dead , thought i read it somewhere.

Well he didn't turn up at Dumbledores funeral. So he's either really far away, disabled, dead, or was mad at Albus.

He's definetly alive,he was at the funeral and hopefully he'll have a part in the final book (afterall,isn't Old School Order of the Phoenix?)
I think he's in disguise...and DD probably knew where he was and used him to help sometimes (although never included in the story).

He is a bartender. I don't think he will play a bigger role in the 7th book though.

Didn't know he was in the Order, and Dumbledore mentioned his brother Aberforth in the books. Don't really know who is the bartender at the Hogs' Head.

Now that Dumbledore has died, Aberforth may feature in the 7th book if he decides to help the Order.

Jo has already said that Aberforth is the barman in the Hogs Head infact she has said it on her site

Well I strongly believe its him,remember when Dumbledore told Harry that his brother was fascinated by goats and when Harry went into the bar there was a strong stench of goats

Yes, the barkeep of the Hog's Head has been identified by JK as being Dumbledore's brother. He was at the funeral in the HBP. Aberforth may or may not be important in book 7. He will, I think, be interviewed by Harry to complete the details of Snape hearing the prophecy. He may hold inform that Harry needs and at that time reveal it. That is my take on it.

Harry has few clues to go on for his search. He knows the two horcruxes inside Slytherin heirlooms are destroyed. Dumbledore distroyed the one in the Slytherin ring and R.A.B. destroyed the one in the locket. Now Harry is searching for Helga's cup and other heirlooms of the founders. Gryffindor's hat, and sword are protected inside Hogwarts but there may be another heirloom of his we are not aware of at this time. Ravenclaw too must have had a special heirloom passed down in her family as well. These are things Harry must search for and find. It is also one of the reason I think he'll return to school. Hogwart's library is unmatched. It is there Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny will find mention of the other heirlooms.

Harry may luck out if he travels to Godric's Hollow. There he might stumble across one of the Horcruxes in an item of Gryffindor's. That would be easier find of the remaining ones in my opinion. I am very excited about book 7 and hope we see it sooner rather than later.

Did R.A.B destroy it? Doesn't it just say he intends to destroy it soon? That means it could still be out there (more work for Harry).

And OMG! Aberforth is the bar keeper at the Hog's Head?! But I got the impression that that man was a little...surly (and certainly unhygenic!) In fact...he reminds me of Mundungus lol. But I guess that makes sense...didn't he get pulled up in front of the Minestry for something?

Maybe we'll get lucky and Aberforth was posing as Dumbledore when he was killed. Dumbledore wouldn't beg for anything nor sound weak. Didn't Harry notice something different about Dumbledore when he was talking to Snape?

He's totally the barkeeper and he'll play a part in 7th book coz he's seen many things being at the bar I guess...Well, we'll just hav ta wait...JKRowling's imagination is something else so I guess she'll amaze us once again.

It says somewhere that Aberforth(D's Bro) works in the Hog's head, but in the 5th book it says that Tom the.... what the??!! oooh! Dumbledores brother, Aberforht, works in the Hogs head, in this HP quiz i took the q was: "Who owns the Hogs Head" and the answer was Aberforth Dumbledore!
