I hope JK Rowling writes more hogwarts stuff no matter what.
I think that she could quite easily make new characters, and have them go to hogwarts, and have the same teachers etc, maybe even appearances from the other characters.. maybe Hermione could be an auror that helps them in the future, stuff like that id love.

yeah, I always wonder what were all gonna do..................but i bet we'll all stay on the Hp fan sites, we just won't be speculating whats gonna happen

I hope that it sticks around, because I'm pretty sure there will always be harry potter rpgs and fanfictions. So there should still be active fansites too.

Oh, my goodness! I never thought about that!! But, SS has way too many users to just shut down...I don't know. I think it will last.

i would not worry about ti until it happens, and enjoy the time we have left of it after all you never know whether or not jkr will continue the series after the seventh book,all we can do is sit and wait it out.

i have thought about this too. Most of the threads etc will be shut down because there will be no more possible spoilers, but things like fanfics andd RP's will stay popular i'm sure.

SS is to good a site to loose all of it members due to the end of a story.

I’m in panic mode at the moment.

I was just thinking what I’m going to do when do when J.K has finished writing all the books! I have read them ALL and I think I will have nothing to look forward to or anther book to anticipate for I kind of don’t want her to finish writing ALL the books because then I will always have anther HP book to look forward to. I never want the magical world of Harry Potter to end!

That's not fair! I hope JK Rowling doesn't kill Harry in the end! That way she can write another book like ten years later as the epilogue or something. (that's what it's called right? The prologue is before the story takes place right? Hmmm...)

Oh my gosh!!! to sad to think about!!! I prolly won't even be on the computer very much after the Harry Potter series is over.... whaaaa.... but we have like 5-6 years to worry. So I'm going to enjoy life now and not worry for the future.

I think I'm in the same boat as you...LOL. I don't want HP to end either but I'd hate for it to become some crass commercial thing...like say...oh The Dragonriders of Pern or something. I think she should write all she can about that and then move on. I'd hate to miss out on other worlds she might invent and other stuff she might write that's magical, I hope she sticks to Fantasy, we don't really need more detective fiction...unless...whatever she writes after though i'm buying.

As for what I'm going to do...is read the last book really slowly and then cry, and laugh, and eat a lot of chocolate, curl up into a little ball and cry some more and eat more chocolate, reread them all again, a million times and *throws hands up in the air* move on...and write fan fiction. Already did it with NGE, and with CoN and I'm still here...so I guess I'll just wait for the next big thing...*sniff*

^Ottery's right. I've planned ahead and started writing Fan fiction, an American Series. At least the world will live on in my stories.

i feel sickened whenever I think about it.
I don't know what I will do if there's no book to look forward to,arguments to join, people to argue with, no movie countdowns, no shipping arguments, no nothing!

i never thought i'd say this but i hope JK takes a long time to write book 7 because then we can speculate and discuss rumours for ages.I am sure that even after the books are finished,lots of people will stay on SS,most people here are like family anyway.

Hmmm... this is something I've mused about at times... what to do when Harry Potter is over? Urgh, just typing it makes me want to moan in grief. It won't seem real when it happens!

I don't think HP fandom will die entirely. I mean, there's still the movies. But then, what will happen when those are done with, too?! Oh boy.

I personally wouldn't like it one bit if JK wrote more Hogwarts stories after Harry Potter. I mean, it just doesn't seem right to me, kind of like if someone tried to write a fifth Gospel and stick it in the Bible. I know, that's a bit extreme, but it'd be kind of like that only not on a religious level. Whatever. I just don't think it would be quite... right. Wow, this is difficult to explain. Plus, hasn't JK said she wasn't going to continue with Hogwarts/Harry Potter stuff once the series is over? Although I am at least hoping for an epilogue or something at the end of book 7 telling us who married who and what they did for a living and how they died and stuff. Just so we wouldn't be left hanging.

Basically, I'm going to be depressed for the rest of my life once Harry Potter is "over."

I will be so upset that it has to end since they are such wonderful books. But the movies will still be going since they have to wait for the books to be written. Plus, we can always go back and reread them for the billionth time. Also, like Lee said, there will always be the websites...it probably will slowly die, but until it does, it's here.

Plus, we'll have a piece of literature history...they were part of something really big. And I think they'll stay that way for a long time. We can have our kids read them...like my mother gave me Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys from when she was little...that tradition and book series is still alive after almost 30, 40 years!

Let's just enjoy the time we have with the HP phenomina because I think it's just fun to read and talk about and it's given us all good memories and times...especially here on SS.com. But hopefully the end won't come too fast...I'll miss it. And then we'll just have to thrive on canon fanfiction as Ottery said...

I will be very sad...I after every book say, " When Jo will release the next book..Is she writing it now??" I became confident that there are another book will be written even if it was after a long time. But when the book 7 realeased and the end of the story came..( Whatever it was ) ..There will be alot of sadnees. I loved HP..I'm a big fan of it..I can't live without news about Harry... and this is not only my feelings of course but the feelings of all HP fans...but there are some things that will be the ray in the darkness like the movies. They will last even the books were finished of course... and also the fanfiction as the talent writers will do. I'm so happy about that... Now, I don't think about that sad moments.. I live in that HBP will still be released soon and read it perfectly and wait 2 or 3 years ahead to the seventh book. It will take along time to reach the life without HP. I think I'll be 22 or 23.. i think the sadness will be less than now. Any way, Good luck of Rowling. I hope her next stories will be famous as Harry or may be better..

I think what everyone has said is true we should just enjoy HP while it's here and not think about a time when it wont be.and even when J.K has finshed writting all the books the magic will still live on in our hearts.

I think that it will be sad and i think it will be sad because HP is a big part of our lives....

But JKR will write more book snot HP but a writer like her isnt a one style wonder
