i think, tom riddle is slytherin's heir so he became slytherin and he's parseltongue. i mean, salazaar is parseltongue so maybe salzaar can be his one of ancestor..and the sorting hat said harry will be good in the slytherin so he could be in the slytherin even he's not pure-blood..but harry don't like in the slytherin so the sorting hat put him in the gryffindor. where he like..

Tom Riddle belongs in Slytherin house. Not only is he Salazar's heir, but he also exhibits many Slytherin traits - power, manipulativeness, determination. He wouldn't have fit as well in any other house.

Yea i think its fairly obvious lol, he is the heir of the founder of that house.

He got in to that house because his mother come from a family of pure bloods and she was an heir to slytherin, making voldie heir, and she was in slytherin herself...

I think he was just so evil he was put into Slytherin anyway, because he obviously thought pure bloods were better.... Also, he wanted to be in Slytherin, so doesn't that make a difference?

Tom Riddle Jr cant help being Half Blood but he is the same as his Grandfather. He hates being Half Blood and wishes he is Pure Blood.
He is soo evil how can they not put him in Slytherin and anyway, the relation to Salazar Slytherin would automatically put him in Slytherin anyway!

Also, Snape is a Half Blood, so its really a question of how did he get into Slytherin?

I think that aside from the fact that he's descended from Slytherin, he also had that little bit of evil and hunger for power and control in him even as a young, pre-Hogwarts boy.

well for one he was an heir, he was related to the founder, two Slytherin down the years fell away from what its founder intended in the first place. two snape wasn't a pureblood either and he was in slytherin, and im sure plenty of other death eaters weren't purebloods either

Mainly because he has the main traits of Slytherin. He is highly ambitious because of his orphanage background, I think, and that made him want to get out of that hell hole and try to achieve some great things. Also, he is very sly, using his natural charm to manipulate and use people. And he is a complete coward - which is a trait we have seen from a few Slytherins in the series - and so would rather sacrifice others than himself. And of course he is very cunning. I think that the fact that he's Slytherin's Heir is only a part of why he was put into that House.
