i think that it's just his personality that matched. also he is the heir of slytherin. many people in slytherin aern't pure. and many outsied slytherin are pure. it depends on what kind of person you are, i think.

He ended up in slytherin cause he is the heir of Slytherin himself. Duh. And you know Harry was going to be placed into Slytherin but he wanted to be in Gryffindor... Snape is also a half blood and he ended up in slytherin... yes... *runs away*

HM. I think the house you end up in is based on your characteristics.. Riddle was pretty much a prick. So yea.. Slytherin was perfect for him... JUST KIDDING people. Dont take me too seriously. But i really don't think it mattered whether or not his blood was "pure".. All that matters is that his values were in harmony with that of the House of Slytherin. Am i right? i like to think so. I think the explanation is simple he was the heir of slytherin so you put 2 and 2 together and he would be in slytherin.

That Part about him being halfblood...Doesn't realy matter. Snape's a halfblood and he turned out to be Slytherine's head of house. Besides if Slytherine house just really accepted Purebloods they would be alot smaller than the other houses (there aren't much purebloods left)

The reason Slytherin left the school was because he wanted pure bloods and the others disagreed. The pure blood rule does not apply.

Tom Riddle got in Slythern beacuse he is the heir of Salazar. You don't have to be pure blood to get in, although I think it would help. But Snape got in and was half blood. But Dumbledor once told Harry he got in to Gryfindor because he asked to be by the sorting hat.

It wasn't just that he was slytherin's heir or the purity of blood. The founder also cherished qualities that LV had: Resourcefulness, determination etc.

Thats right. You do not need the blood line or be pure blood. The sorting hat could have put Harry into Slytherin because of his Resourcefulness and determination but did not because Harry asked not to be in Slytherin.

Isnt it obvious he was Slytherin 's heir and Slytherin's heir can't be in some other house.and he was directly related to the Salazaar Slytherin even if he was a half blod.

the choice, heritage, talents and personality is how they choose but mostly it is choice[CoS] DD said it already concerning and Tom Riddle was evil to get in Slytherin and same with Malfoy and Snape. But Harry is related to Gryffindor-thats what JKR mentioned indirectly.

thats pretty simple. Tom is evil. He will allways be evil. He can not like, or love anyone he wants no frineds he wants everyone to look at him as a suprior. Thats the reason he hates doubldore and soon harry in the same way. they dont look up at him the actly look down at him
