In the front corner of the shop is a fireplace. Surrounding the fireplace are two large tables and a number of comfy chairs. When the right weather presents itself, a merrily crackling fire lights up this cozy area. Hang out here for a relaxing read or just to enjoy the warmth when it's cold out.

Finally Erin had bought all of her second year books including her new school robes and plus, the most precious broom of hers. She hoped, this time, she'll be able to enter Quidditch. It was actually getting a little late and soon-to-be 12 year olds shouldn't be running around Diagon Alley in the dark. Her Dad agreed to pick her up at 7pm today. Phew! The fireplace was lit up and Erin couldn't help it but adore the warmth it creates. She wanted to stay here for like, forever!
She placed the pile and pile of her books at the top of the table. Peeking from her spot towards a walking figure, she regained her color.

Exhausted from a day of shopping for school supplies, Ella slumped down in the nearest chair and closed her eyes. She breathed in deep, taking in the wonderful scent of books. Her parents had decided to browse the shelves but Ella was too tired to stand and the large comfy seating offered her the perfect place to relax.
After a minute or two she opened her eyes to take in her surroundings. Two older boys were staring at her, both seemingly amused. Wondering what they were on about, she shot them a look. One boy pointed at his hair while the other burst into laughter. As if a light bulb had gone off, she realized what was so funny, her hair. The heat had always had an amazing ability to cause Ella's long blonde hair to stand on end as if she had just rubbed her head with a balloon. She hastily pulled her hair into a messy bun as she silently cursed the heat and the boys that were now leaving the shop. What a day.

Logan was reading his book when he peeked over it and noticed two boys teasing about a girl's hair. He looked at her. There was nothing wrong with it at all! He glared at them as they walked out, and then walked up to the girl. "Hey, sorry about them." he said angrily. "I don't know who those guys are, but they are mean to tease you like that." he said. "Your hair is fine. Trust me." he said, smiling reasurringly. "I'm Logan, by the way." he said, sticking his hand out.

"I'm Ella, Ella Bishop. I hope those boys aren't any indication of what the other older students will be like at Hogwarts! I'm nervous enough as it is. Reading anything good?" she said, indicating the book in his hands.

"Ohh, it looks fine to me." Logan said. "Nice to meet you, Ella!" he said. "Oh, probably not. I've met a ton of really nice people from Hogwarts around Diagon Alley." he said. "So does this mean you'll be a first year?" he asked curiously. He then looked at his book, it was a book on Quidditch. Quidditch Through The Ages to be exact he smiled. "Yeah, it's pretty good!" he said.

Ella looked at the book with interest and then back at Logan. "I'll have to add that to my list of books to buy!" She reached into the pocket of her jeans and pulled out a rather long list of book titles. "I know it's long but everything sounds so interesting! I had a chance to go into Quality Quidditch Supplies earlier and I loved everything about it. My dad thinks it sounds like a dangerous sport but I'd love to play." Logan chuckled and looked at her long list. He blinked. "Wow..." he said smiling. "That's a loong list! You must really enjoy reading!" he said. He then nodded. "Yeah, I get whatcha mean!" he said. He then smiled. "Ever since I found out I was a wizard, I've been getting into Quidditch ever since!" he said. "I'm a first year too!" he said excitedly. He always loved talking to people who were his age. "I'm excited and nervous as well." he said.

Why had she decided to go shopping TODAY of all days again? Okay, she tried to go shopping every day but today would have been a good time to just stay at home and curl up in front of the fireplace with a blanke and a cup of cocoa. But no, she had gone off to Diagon Alley to do some last-minute christmas shopping. Well, it wasn't THAT last-minute but you could never be finished with that early enough.
Alysson had dashed into the first shop she had set her eyes on. Which turned out to be the book shop. Flourish & Blotts. Not necessarily one of her favorite kinds of shops but it was okay. Maybe she could get a present for Jeremy here. But most importantly, she could unfreeze her limbs in here for a while.
Completely ignoring the bookshelves and counter and everything else in this shop, Alysson hurried over to a fireplace to warm up. She first held her hands close to it and then her face until her cheeks had acquired a reddish shade of the sudden warmth. Ah good, she could feel her nose again.

Squeak. Squeaaaaaak.
Wesley picked up another book off of horribly old and squeaky wheeled cart he had been pushing around as he found the shelf it belonged to. He slid it in between a few other books of the same kind, and continued onward, hoping to clear the cart before his break. Though, he knew better. It wouldn't be completely empty until the end of the day.
With somewhat of a sigh, he moved onward. At the end of the isle, he stopped to glance over at the fireplace when his eyes caught sight of a woman that was already sitting there. His brown eyes glanced down at the watch on his wrist, knowing it was only a minute before break now. The woman looked extrememly cold. Feeling sorry for her, he wheeled the cart back to the back room quickly and grabbed a blanket that he often kept their for his own use. Though, he was pretty sure she would need it more than he did right now.
Finding his way back to the fireplace, he approached the woman, arm extended with the blanket draped over it. "I- Erm.. You look like you could uh.. use this." he stuttered softly before taking the seat across from her.

Subconsciously listening to her surroundings but not really hearing anything worth of her attention, Alysson continued to concentrate only on the task at hand. Which was not to freeze to death. Okay, maybe she was exaggerating a little there - she wasn't in immediate danger of dying of hypothermia - but it most certainly felt like it. Shifting closer to the fire in her chair, Alysson pinched the tip of her nose as if to make sure it was still actually there. Huh. It felt a little weird. It tingled a little.
Without removing her finger from her nose, Alysson turned her head when she heard somebody coming her way. Aww, he had got her a blanket? And he seemed nervous somehow. Finally lowering her hand from her face, she smiled at him gratefully while taking the blanket from him. "Aw, that's so nice of you." She replied with yet another smile before draping the blanket around her shoulders like a cape. Maybe she should pull it over her head too.
Hang on, would he be cold now? Was this his blanket? "Are you okay? I mean, aren't you cold?" Well, probably not as cold as her. He presumably hadn't been running around outside for the last hour. "Because I don't mind sharing. It's big enough, I guess." As if to prove this she held up one side of the blanket. That thing was huge. They could probably build a tent with it or something.

Nervously, Wesley clasped his hands together, and looked about. Just one of his many quirks that he wished he hadn't had. But it was there whether he liked it or not. His brown eyes glanced briefly over at the woman sitting across from him. When she commented, he simply nodded his head muttering a quick, "It's n-nothing really. Not a uh.. big deal." He said, glancing away.
It wasn't a big deal. He didn't mind offering it up. Wes had been raised to be a gentleman, even if it meant sacrificing his own comfort, which he usually did. Curiously, he watched her drape the blanket around her shoulders, grinning slightly.
The man shrugged. "I'm alright, thanks." Though.. his body betrayed him and shivered slightly. "Well.. maybe i'm a err.. a bit cold." He frowned. Clearly she was a lot colder than he was, being that she had been outside, and.. he hadn't. He glanced around again, before deciding it really couldn't hurt if he were to slide under the blanket with her. Though.. he wouldn't want to invade her personal space even if she did offer.
After a feel moments of internal debate, he stood, and took the seat next to her. There.

Alysson watched him out of the corner of her eyes while pulling the blanket closer around her. He seemed so nervous. Was that her fault? No, it couldn't be. She didn't even do anything. And she was adorable a nice person so there really was absolutely no need for him to be nervous. "Still, thank you. You're awesome." Though it was kind of cute the way he was clasping his hands together. Heh.
Smiling at him in an attempt to make him feel less uncomfortable, she settled back into the chair with the blanket draped closely around her. Maybe she should take off her shoes so she could get under it fully? But then again she wasn't going to stay in here for that long, right? She had some stuff to do after all. But it was starting to get so amazingly warm here. Hmm.
The shiver didn't go unnoticed - she was pretty good at noticing the little things - and so Alysson raised her eyebrows a little when he claimed that he was alright. "Then come on over here. We can totally share." She grinned at him, holding up one side of the blanket expectantly when admitted that in fact he was pretty cold. Though, he didn't seem to be too thrilled about the idea. Huh, some people were just a little more uncomfortable about getting close to people they didn't know.
But then sat down next to her after all. Shifting in her seat a little to give him more room she threw part of the blanket over him as well with yet another smile. Oh that was definitely better. With both of them under the blanket it was getting even warmer than before. "I'm Alysson by the way." She introduced herself with her head slightly turned to face him. Since they were snuggled up in front of a fireplace after all and all.

Waitwaitwaitwaitwaaait. He was... awesome? Clearly this woman didn't know him. Wesley certainly didn't count himself as awesome. Oh no. He was no where near such a word. He wasn't horrible. That's what he liked to call himself. But other than that? Nothing. He was average. Nothing special. And as one might have guessed, he didn't really have a huge amount of self esteem. "I-um. Thanks." he mumbled in her direction, shifting the blanket over himself a bit.
Before long, he found his fingers intertwined into the blanket, always having to have his hands somewhere other than just sitting still in his lap, or at his sides. Strangely enough, he always had to have something to touch or to rub his fingers over. In a way, it helped keep him calm. His eyes dropped to his lap, not really knowing where else to keep them.
This was awkward and alien to him. Sitting so close to someone he didn't know. Normally, he'd be squeezed into the side of his seat, not allowing himself to touch any part of another person. Though, he was still tense and wouldn't really move anything other than his head and his hands. Everything else was stiff and uncomfortable. But he wouldn't let that on. She wouldn't be able to tell, would she? Afterall, Wesley wouldn't want to offend her, or make her as uncomfortable as he was. Maybe he shouldn't have switched seats at all.
His eyes darted back to the woman, not sure about what he should say, or what he should do. But it didn't look like he needed to. She had spoken first. "Uhm.. Right. I'm err.. Wesley." He gave a short curt nod. Even though he wasn't a conversationalist, he gave it a go. "So.. what brings you to uh.. Flourish and Blotts?"

Aww, was she making him uncomfortable? He looked veeeerryy nervous about something. Well, she was only saying the truth so there was no way she was going to stop doing that. And if that made him uncomfortable then that was his problem, not hers. That's why she simply replied cheerfully, "You're welcome." He should just accept the fact that he was awesome. He had brought her a blanket after all!
Alysson just watched him for a moment, the way he had started fidgeting with the blanket and looking down at his lap. He really needed to relax. Hopefully this wasn't because of her. Because frankly, there was absolutely no reason to be this nervous around her. Not even when they shared a blanket. Hang on, was that it?! But no, he could have declined her offer.
There you go, that wasn't that hard. Saying his name that is. Still, this guy was so adorable with all his stuttering and pausing and uhm-ing. "Wesley. Okay." Alysson repeated with a smile, returning the man's nod. Before she did anything else though, she was going to get her shoes off. She didn't like sitting like this, not with a blanket. With a blanket you just HAD to have your feet under it too. Wesley wouldn't mind right?
Holding her finger up in a 'hold on'-sort of way, Alysson leaned forward - taking part of the blanket with her - and moved to untighten her shoes and take them off. When that was done, she leaned back again and this time pulled her legs up on the couch too. Ah, that was definitely better. "Right, now-" What had they been talking about again? "-erm, well, to be honest I just wanted to get out of the cold." It wasn't that she didn't LIKE the shop but you know, honesty first, and that had been the reason she had come in here.
Alysson shifted in her seat a little so most of her body was now turned towards Wesley. "So, Wesley, tell me, how is it that you came to work here?" He DID work here right?

Twisting his hands around and folding pieces of the blanket between his fingers, his gaze fell on the fireplace. He really needed to relax because he was pretty sure he was making Alysson just as uncomfortable as he was with all of his nervousness. Finally, his gaze fell back on her, and he couldn't help but feel bad for acting the way he was, even if he couldn't help it. "I'm sorry," he muttered, trying to stop his fidgeting, be failing miserably.
When she spoke his name, he nodded politely, not sure what else to do, really. His hands were still fidgeting uncomfortably, but not quite as quick. Silently, he watched her take her shoes off, wondering why a girl might do that in a public place, let alone a store. Though, he didn't question it out loud for fear of offending her. Instead, he clicked the heels of his own shoes, pulling the blanket over them, yet leaving them firmly planted on the floor.
He nodded when she said that she had only came in to get out of the cold. That was understandable. Some people just didn't like to read, and he got that. At least he assumed she didn't. Afterall, she might like reading, but just wasn't in need of a book at the moment. Or.. something of the sort. "Ah, that's err.. understandable." he said finally.
Wesley's gaze fell back on the fire for a moment, shifting a little in his seat to get slightly more comfortable because he was kinda getting more comfortable with her. "Uh.. How did I-" He paused, thinking over his words before continuing. "-Well, I started working here errr.. about three years ago. I've uhm.. always loved books and.. Well, i had just moved a bit closer to the London area, so i uh.. came looking for a job. And that's pretty much err.. all." Though, his life was much different now. But he wasn't one to open up to his friends and family let alone strangers. "And uhm.. Where do you work? If you uh.. don't mind my asking."
