"Thank you very much." Brett replied, accepting the money and closing his hand around the heavy coins.. "And you're welcome. Havea nice day." He slid the coins into the till. It was getting a bit on the full side. He'd have to stop by Gringotts later.

"Thank you very much." Brett accepted the money and set it down. He then pulled the stack of books towards him and began to package them into a bag. Once that was finished, he tossed in a bookmark for good measure. "Here you are..." He slid the bag towards her. "Have a nice day."

"Good morning." Brett greeted as a young girl stepped up to the counter. He surveyed the stack of books before promptly replying. "20 galleons." He began to package the books into a bag, while glancing towards the table holding the school books. He would have to restock soon enough. The books were going quickly.

20 galleons again. Everything seemed to cost like 20. But yeah, it's business. Abby searched her pouch for 20 of those big golden coins. Once she counted 20, one of them fell. Oops, you clumsy girl.

Abby bent down to pick it up and got it. She gave the galleons to the shopkeeper, still maintaining her smile. Yes, she's sweet and she agrees with that. Uhuh.

Wesley nodded at the young girl, knowing off the top of his head that he already had A History of Magic directly behind him in the pile of random school books. So, he quickly turned about, grabbed the book and placed it gently on the counter before the young girl. "Err... Right. There's the err... first." he said softly before going around the counter, and heading toward the desk of books in which he knew the other would be.

He stared at the tall piles, quickly whipping out his wand and waving the book down with a quick flick of the wand. He caught the book, returned his wand to it's holster and returned to the counter. "And err.. there's the other." he added before smiling down at the young girl.
Wesley smiles politely at the young girl and her family, completely silent when the placed the money down on the counter for him. He simply slid it off of the counter and into his hand before dropping the coins into the register. "I- Um.. You're welcome and er.. you to." He added awkwardly as the young woman left.
Wesley glanced over at the child as he spoke. Ah, school books? Wasn't the first time someone missed the sign. "There's a uh.. whole table filled with school books. There's a sign and err.. everything." The man lifted his arm and pointed toward the table of school books with the sign hanging above it. "If you err.. need help carrying it all, that's another story." he smiled shyly.
The assistant leaned against the counter watching the young woman count out her coins, as he usually did with any customer as there was nothing else to really look at. He took the coins from her gently and dropped them into the register before waving to her as she walked away.

Stacey and her parents are waiting in line to check out.
"How much does each textbook cost?" ask Mom.
"While, according to sign on the counter, each textbook cost 20 gallons. We have 10 textbooks, so the total is 200 gallons." say Stacey.
"That is all of money." say Dad.
"We have enough money, honey." say Mom.

Brett watched absently as the girl counted out the coins before dropping one. The sound of the heavy coin hitting the floor gave him a slight start, and he leaned forward slightly, now wearing a small smile. "Thank you very much." He accepted the galleons and slid the bag towards her. "Here you are, have a nice day."

"Yes...may I help you?" He inquired as the next customers stepped out; a young girl between an older man and woman. His gaze dropped to the stack of books that they held.

Desiree walked into Florish and Blotts, alone, being a big second year and all she didn't need her parent's help to find everything... at least that's what she had told them. Turns out it wasn't the best idea. But after a lot of searching she was almost positive she had everything. At least she hoped so, anymore books and she wasn't going to be able to carry them let alone read them.

When it was her turn she walked up to the counter struggling a little with the weight of the books. Looking up at the man, the same shopkeeper who had helped her last year, or rather helped her parents, she smiled slightly, "Hello sir, well I think these are all the books I need for my second year.. " Hopefully he could help her find anything she was missing, yes? "Oh, and I also need to get this parchment and ink." she said placing the two up next to the books.

Nate feels kinda embarrsed about that. But he goes to get the books and return with them.

After his meeting with the Hufflepuff prefect at the bookshelves, Messer made his way toward the counter to pay his books. The faster he pay it the faster he can enjoy an ice cream. He's carving for that since this morning. But unfortunately for him the counter was pretty crowded with students who want to pay their books too. Ugh! Now he must wait again.

Abby retrieved the bag from the shopkeeper. "Thank you, have a nice day too," the little girl said. She turned back and began walking outside, going to her mother who was waiting for her outside.

The girl placed her pouch in her pocket and held the bag on her right hand. Next shop...

Once he finished up with another customer, Wesley picked his book back up and began reading it. He knew he'd be interrupted soon enough, but he had just gotten to the climax of the book and it was getting more difficult by every passing second to part with it. But of course, as previously predicted, a customer arrived, and unfortunately for him, he had top put the book back down. Nonetheless, he put on a nervous, shy smile and waited for the girl to speak.

As she did, his eyes feel down on the books she had rested on the counter before him. He nodded at her first words, mentally counting the books she had, and glancing at the list of books each child needed for each year. Seemed about right. Nervously, he tapped his fingers along the counter. "Err.. Yes, those are all of the uh.. books for second years." the assistant smiled nervously. "Uhmm.. right. Your uh.. total comes to uh.." Mentally, the man began adding it all up. "23 galleons, five sickles and errr.. four knuts."
The assistant smiled politely down at the young man as he returned with the books. "You err.. found them alright?" he asked softly, glancing at the books the young boy returned with. It looked like he had them all. And if not.. Wes would probably go get the last for the boy out of pity.
As the crowd started to die down a bit, Wesley waved another customer forward. He smiled nervously at the young boy, eyeing his books. First year. "Can i um.. can i help you, sir?" the assistant asked the young one before his eyes darted over to his own book, which he was dying to finish up.

The 22 year-old waited patiently in line, holding the book she had picked gently in her arms. The line was much longer than she had expected, then again, there were a heap of students buying books. Why hadn't she though of that before she came to Diagon Alley?

As Mabel got to the front of the line she grinned at the sight of another adult among all of these students. She put the book lightly on the counter and pulled out her wallet, she sighed inwardly at the lack of coins inside. "Uh - How much will this book be? It's a script, though I don't think that it's listed there?"

Huh? Did the shopkeeper just call him sir? "Sir, I just turned 11 years old few months ago so I'm too young to be a Sir." Yup. He's waaaaayyyy too young to be called Sir. "I want to pay for this books." He put a pile of first year books in the counter. "And I'd like to buy a plain journal too." he told the shopkeeper. "So how much do I owe you, sir?" he asked.

Tayla went up to the counter, ready to pay for everything. On the counter she put the books Muggles Who Notice by Blenheim Stalk, The Standard Book of Spells Grade 3 by Miranda Goshawk, Magical Draughts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger, The Monster Book of Monsters, Unfogging the Future by Cassandra Vablatsky, Ancient Runes Made Easy, Handbook of Do-it-Yourself Broomcare, and Numerology and Grammatica.

"Oh, and I'll also get a copy of 'The Quibbler', a pack of parchment, three quills, a bottle of ink, and a diary," she said, putting them next to the books. "Erm...do you have a book here about Harry Potter? An authorized biography maybe?"

Brett smiled slightly as the next customer stepped up, this one a young woman. Good to see someone of the older variety than the eleven/twelve year olds that were running about. "Hey there." He greeted with a welcome smile.

His gaze dropped to the book and he pulled it towards him, opening the front cover of the book before replying. "3 galleons and 4 sickles." He answered as he looked back up. "Is that all that you'll be needing?"

The books were set down and then he was addressed again by the girl. "No problem..." He pointed towards a desk nearby and a shelf underneath. "Quills, ink, and parchment can be found there." He reached behind him. "Quibbler here..." He never really read the Quibbler himself, but he did see a number of people coming in to buy it so there must be something interesting about it to keep people coming back.

"I can get that biography and the diary if you let me know the color that you would like?"

Oh so she had got everything! See she could definitely handle this on her own.. Desiree smiled up at the shopkeeper. He seemed a little nervous, she hoped it wasn't her fault. "Oh good, I was afraid I missed one." she said cheerfully pulling the coins out of her bag and placing them on the counter as she counted them. "Here you go.."

She eyed the book he had sat down as she walked up, he had been reading it before and she felt kindof bad for interrupting. She considered asking him about it, but figured that would be weird, plus she was pretty shy.. even if she pretended not to be. Besides, to be honest books were not her favorite thing. She knew a lot of people loved them and all, but she could just never get into them... maybe if she found the right story.

"Hey," Mabel said, smiling, "There ya go, and yes, that's all I'm getting" She said taking from her wallet the coins and placing them on the counter.

Mabel took the book as well and slid it carefully inside the bag she had that hung over her shoulder. "Thank you, bye!" She smiled again and waved, leaving the shop through a crowd of children.

Tayla smiled. She kinda liked this guy. "Erm...I'd like a dark blue one please." Tayla was a Gryffindor, but she loved blue. "You don't happen to sell muggle pens here do you? It's part of our list this year..." she added feebly. But it wouldn't really be a problem if they didn't sell muggle pens. Her father was a muggle and could easily give her one.

Zhenya and her mother walked up to the counter and plonked down the 13 books very carefully. "It's all my third year books," Zhenya said with a big smile. She was so happy to be in 3rd year now!

Catching her eye, she turned to see new stuff! "Oh can I get a diary, just a plain one, and a 300 pack of parchment?" she asked the person behind the counter nicely.

Another year of students. Another summer rush. It would go by quickly though, as it always did. His gaze surveyed the store for a minute or two, taking in the look of the faces. Some looked excited, some looked bored, some looked on without much expression at all.

A smile quickly stole across his face as one such student approached. "Of course...which color diary would you like?" He inquired as he began to package the school books into a bag.


"Yes, young miss?" He replied, peeking over the counter to the young girl who approached. "How can I help you?"

Nigel walked into the shop and quietly asked the person behind the counter if he could have all the book a first year would need because he need his books since he loved reading.

First years....some seemed shy, and others seemed bursting with excitement and were loud and happy. With a chuckle, he turned his attention to the young boy who stepped up to the counter. "Sure thing....one moment."

Taking two quick steps, he moved towards the front of the store where the school books were. Hefting a couple of stacks of books into his hands, he dropped one off at the counter and placed the second set directly in front of the boy. "First year books." He indicated. "20 galleons, please, if you don't need anything else."

Nigel hands the person behind the counter the 20 galleons they asked for and said "No that is it Thank you". Nigel starts to leave think about all the new books he got just waiting to be read.

Belle went up to the counter and was getting all the books required for a fifth year. "Hi, um i would like to get books required for fifth years?" she said with a sweet smile.

Her first day at the job. This was her very first day!

There was no need to be nervous was there? No! She could do this. This was her favourite store in Diagon Alley and she was actually working here! And, to top things off, she had her very first customer!

Maria smiled at the young girl as she approached the counter. "Hello!" she said, trying to maintain a level of professionalism and cheerfulness at the same time. The girl seemed sweet, what with that smile on her face. Usually people were scared about this, weren't they? Maria certainly would be. "These books, yes?" she asked, starting to pack the books into a bag, "And would you like anything else?" Notebooks? Magazines? Flourish and Blott's had everything to do with books!
